In case you didn’t catch it, the little boy in the video, was her guardian angel the whole time. He was sent prior to her death, to ease her transition over to heaven. Which was a beautiful touch of the director of the video to add. 😇

@@seumus Concrete Angel Analysis In Martina McBride’s Concrete Angel, we have the story of a young girl who is being abused by her mother. Child Abuse in recent years has been overshadowed by minor issues in today’s society. But the issue still exists; the sad thing is that these abusers are admitting they hurt children or even their own child and they have no remorse for it. Concrete angel was meant as a double meaning. Concrete angel as the girl trying to be strong, but also that graves of children often have angels on them. It was meant to be seen both ways. Also, the boy being an abuse victim himself sent as a guardian angel to be there for her at the end and guide her in the video. I love the subtle hints, like how he was talking to her from a dark window with no light in the room, how he seems to glow before the transition from ambulance to the cemetery, and when he walks right through the other people at the grave in the end to meet her before they join the other abused children in the distance. Really, they did great with both the song and the video.

Angels among us by Alabama. Little girl by John Michael Montgomery, believe by brooks n dunn . Immortal by evanescence. Someone you loved by Lewis calipadi . Are all emotional powerful songs
This video is a tough one to get thru ... If one doesn't choke up and shed a tear or two watching this for the first time ... Do they have a soul I wonder? Great observation. Good reaction folks.
Now that you are into a little country there are so many beautiful ladies with powerful voices and great messages. Patty Lovelace is one, The Chicks are great but my favorite is Allison Krause. This sweet songbird has done so much for music on her own and with other artists. Talk about perfect pitch you can not beat her. Hope you might consider listening to these ladies.
I stood beside Martina one time at the Country Music Hall of Fame and I am only 5'11' but compared to her I was a giant. She is so tiny but man the voice that comes out of that tiny frame is awesome. Also she was such a nice lady as was Ricky Skaggs a nice man.
I am a survivor of child abuse ( physical mental and emotional) Luckily I got out and have been out for 16 years now but I still struggle with self esteem issues and PTSD from it all. Thanks for spreading awareness that abuse of any kind to anyone isn't allowed.
If you notice the bright light that shines on the angel boy and it shines on the little girl before they meet the other angels who were also victims of child abuse.
I believe the song presents more than one message. It brings awareness to very important topic and shows the importance of speaking up when we see signs of child abuse. It also has a spiritual message that provides comfort and hope.. that message being that death is not the end. For the innocent and for the redeemed, we have a better life awaiting on the other side. no matter what we have to endure in this earthly life, we (the born again children of God have a better day to look forward to.
Been a law enforcement Officer for almost 32 years in South Carolina, which as one of the highest child homicide rates in the country. I have investigated too many of these cases. I can see their faces as if it happened yesterday. At the end of the video, when you see all the other kids that were victims playing and just being kids, you pray that is the case. It gives you hope that they are in a better place and they never have to worry about being hurt again.
Such a powerful and beautiful voice, and message. My all time favorite of hers is Broken Wing. I think it’s her best performance, and that’s saying something!
Great reaction to a beautiful song, such a sad topic, but I am so happy that artists use their platform to bring awareness. If yall didn't get emotional, I would worry about you.
Phil! You closed your eyes at a key point in the video. Please watch again at the cemetery...watch what happens to the boy. Sam was watching and saw it but didn't seem to react. I've seen this several-dozen times and love this video. Far be it from me, someone with a degree in music, to dissuade someone from hearing the music, but this video really shouts, "Watch me." Thanks for doing this one, guys! Now I have to go and blow my nose and wipe my face.
the name on the tombstone of this vid is Martina's niece. Her sister i think it was abused her daughter and she died from it. it is one of the biggest reasons that Martina sings for the innocents taken from us.
Thank you for this reaction, I love what you guys do. I know Martina McBride has very emotional songs but, please consider reacting to “ This ones for the girls”. It’s an upbeat encouraging song for the ladies, I think you’ll enjoy it. Thanks for what you do and for sharing your time with us!
There are no positives to be found in this song,it is sad, sad, sad, spreading awareness about child abuse can only serve to educate, but it can never make the suffering of any child easier,God bless each and every concrete angel❤❤
I love this song! Another artist that used his artisty to bring awareness is Phil Collin’s. “ another day in paradise “ he used it/ and wrote to bring awareness to homelessness. Skid row did as well in” I’ll remember you” if you ever watch skid rows video pay close attention to the video
Hi you guys...this is the first time I've seen a video from you. I loved your discussion about the point of the song and the philisophical understanding of the different meaning and lessons to learn from the poem/lyrcis...and how the song was performed. The video I believe is vital to the important message behind the song. Brilliant writers deliver many messages in a song along with the main point that's being made behind the song. I have been leaving comments on videos for the last 4 years...I, like many, have had points in my life where somebody opened the trap door to hell and pushed me in. I've had the most incredible moments in my life that are almost impossible to achieve...and I've also honored my position in my family based on where I fit. I was an abused child. I mean...whenever I was at my parents home (usually on a Sunday because of Catholic Sunday School and I filmed a kids show on Monday mornings before going to school in the affluent suburb my family lived in....my dad and I got close as a dad and son could ever be and the last 8 years of his life that were worth all my years. There is a ripple affect in child abuse...and it's generational and usually if the kid survives he or she is either and over achiever or laughing all the way to the bank because of the money people paid to take our pictures for the new big men's designers explosion in the 80s...I was the first Drakkar Noir cologne model and one photo of me taken during my junior year in high school still earns a bit of change to this day. I was everywhere you looked for about 3 years and then I was gone. I mean, something happened and due to having really good management I was able to not have my SAG name public anymore (in the beginning it was supposed to be a break but it became a long time) My mum was sx abused as a kid by her dad's brother...her own uncle. My grandmother not understanding why she was returning to infancy instead of moving on to the 2nd grade. THAT never, ever leaves a man or a woman the consequences of the actions taken by adults on children outside the immediate home family life destroyed my grandmothers marriage and the ripple effect gained in magnitude because as a newly wed her mother in law was furious my parents were growing their family when my mum and dad married he had 3 little kids twins that were 8 and a disabled girl at 3 years old...and his mother kept saying she needed to be euthanized...she caused my mum a miscarriage late term...my sister Helena Moira came before me and if it wasn't for her not making it...I wouldn't be here and my two younger brothers...and my sister that was given a life expectancy of 6 years old at most died in my arms a week short of her 40th birthday. Family dynamics have changed immensely .reality shows is what kids see and aspire to be like a real housewife in a wig and gown beating the shit out of another woman in a fountain. I knew Kim Richards in the 90s....she is one of the strongest, loving, intelligent, loyal women and friend I know...she also could not have been a better mother to her kids despite her public exploitation by her own sister making here private battle with addiction and treatment center tabloid stories. Kim was a child star...she was a family bread winner that afforded her whole family to live West side luxury of Los Angeles...she was happy to take a break from being an actress and becoming a Mum...and she has 3 kids and of all Hilton/Richards Hollywood kids....her kids are well educated, well grounded, and uninterested in being famous and she was victimized again as an adult woman by her own sister that guilted Kim into doing a reality show because they will only hire her sister Kyle if Kim signed on for 3 years. It almost killed my friend. My own step sister Penelope has spent her entire life to expose some perceived injustice done to her...and she and my brother (once again my dad had 3 kids and married my mum with his cruel mother and workaholic father living in the same house) I was removed as an infant. I grew up with my Irish Catholic Nan...widowed early with 5 kids to raise because of what her inlaw did to my Mum...my grandfather died of acute alcoholism in less than two years. I lived in 3 rooms with my Nan...the kitchen stove heated our home and she worked for one of the Kennedy families for 40 years among other jobs) That family were the most loving people around me as child...and instead of treating me like a freak based on what I looked like, how I sounded and being unaware that all of this was adding to why I couldn't live with my siblings...and how I'm treated by them to this day. I chose my Mum over my choices in a career of my choice. My younger brother committed a really bad crime and was facing a bad future, my youngest brother was developmentally challenged and needing to be in a special school to learn skills by repetition tasks for memory...my dad was divorcing her and my step sister was fighting to leave my mother with 1/2 a value of a house and accusing her of hiding assets under her maiden name that she took from "the family" Do you know what those assets were...my grandmothers savings bonds as my Mum and Nan had the same name. Penelope wasn't done...while my Mum got the worst rare early violent aggressive form of Alzheimers...the only time I called for help to siblings was when I was in a hip cast for a year and she would be climbing into my bedroom windows in the inlaw apartment I lived in....the house I bought my Mum and brother...rumors were leaked onlilne and they already knew her diagnosis and let her continue to drive...they were in her safe where I hid what I had...it wasn't enough to pay off debts for them again and again....I was the reason for every fuxing problem that had ever happened to all of them....I loved my life still...until my Mum died suddenly while we were having coffee...covid happened I was getting eviction notices for Penelope. And it just me and my spouse now...and I'm out of remission...my kidneys are failing and what makes my illness more aggressive? Stress. In a world where kids invite anyone into their home via internet...nobody plays or makes friends or compete on swim teams....life is changing so fast and it was an honor to do what I did for my Mum...I never thought in a million years that what I did for the love of my family has become a worthless sacrifice and people ate trying to rewrite history while I wait and see if going through treatment again is worth it...I feel like I even failed my spouse who knew who I was when we met...and still asked me to go on a picnic. We have been together 20 years...and I thought this generational illness of murder and pain would end with me. While I try to leave messages for videos that impress me...I'm trying to keep my brain form losing gaps of time and wonder if I'll get to do those things I put off until It was my turn to enjoy the promises I made to visit Belgium to see the castles...my spouse grew up in the inner city of Boston...and what got him excited when we hung out in the beginning was taking a 20 minute drive over the New Hampshire order for tax free cigarettes I took a corporate job over the years that included short trips all over the place...but, I didn't have kids nor have anyone that would have stayed with a madman like me...and my fear is that Penelope has finally taught me to hate...and it will kill me.
Is it not amazing how the little girl can make you feel her pain with just her facial expressions? I tried to find something else she acted in, but as far as I know, this it. You guys held it together pretty good, tears me up to watch the video.

Children's graves break my heart! Martina keep speeding the word of protecting the inneocent
Seen her in concert. Wasn't a dry eye after she did this one. Absolutely amazing concert btw.
That little boy was also an angel. Not many people catch that. "old" country is the best cause they told stories.
The year that " Independence Day " came out Martina performed on July 4th on Ft. Sill's Polo field. No autotune needed
I love you guys!! I have cried so many times over this song!!! 😢
A Broken Wing is another great song/message. ❤
Hugs to you both.
Nobody can belt like Martina McBride
When morning comes it will be to late. That is the line when I start to cry.
She has fun songs as well. She is amazing!
I have seen and heard thisbsong many times and her vocals still gets to me because she makes me feel the song.
My sister is neighbors with Martina McBrides parents. Martina has been to my sisters house. Martina looks like her mother, even her eyes. Her mother is very beautiful too.
I'm ugly crying my eyes out right now this touches me in so many ways 😭 😢 🤧 I don't know how she got through the song knowing it's about her niece. Peace out ✌️ ☮️
You bring so much to the table like you both were born for this keep up the amazing work 👍
Aw thx Eddie! Appreciate that!
Martina sings about a lot of social issues. Country artist are not afraid to tackle those issues, nor wear their heart on their sleeves
Well, so much for my day, damn.
❤ I love this song but like you I cry when I hear it. It is a great song to bring awareness.❤
She stood hard as a stone concrete angel Says it all she dies
Martina is an amazing singer and messenger. Her songs are so powerful. You should react to "God's Will" and "With A Broken Wing".
I saw this video alot of times and never make it through without crying
This song gets me every time
dude is jacked, if this ever really hit close to home, i wouldnt want to stand in his way! looks like he'd snap and for good reason! such a sad song.
I can't remember if I requested god's will by Martina McBride. That's a powerful video too
love that song to
I'm not really into country music, but this an excellent song. Powerfully emotional.
Hard not to feel this one!
I was a lpc (counselor) There is a lot of child abuse and children have died. I am so glad she is bringing the problem some exposure.
If you notice the bright light that shines on the angel boy and it shines on the little girl before they meet the other angels who were also victims of child abuse.
I’m surprised that they didn’t notice him walking through those people.
This song always makes me cry, theres a song back in my day called Dr Mr Jesus that reminds me of Concrete Angel.
You should listen to her sing Where Would You Be the live version. She will knock your socks off 😂
I second this! That performance is amazeing!
I was surprised when he walked right through the people that’s when I realized he was an angel.
the name on the tombstone of this vid is Martina's niece.
I cry everytime I watch the music video or listen to the song
I love this song! Another artist that used his artisty to bring awareness is Phil Collin’s. “ another day in paradise “ he used it/ and wrote to bring awareness to homelessness. Skid row did as well in” I’ll remember you” if you ever watch skid rows video pay close attention to the video
Country music has made some heartbreakers
Concrete Angel the biggest heartbreaker that will ever be
Martina had a niece go through this and is what the song is about.
Aaron Ashmores very first acting job was this video. The little neighbor boy. (Iceman from X-men.)
Is it not amazing how the little girl can make you feel her pain with just her facial expressions? I tried to find something else she acted in, but as far as I know, this it. You guys held it together pretty good, tears me up to watch the video.
The little boy is the Angel
You guys are good! 👍🏻
Saddest song ever!
"Concrete Angel" is her little Concrete headstone
I think one of Martina's best vocalist songs is "broken wing", and also if yaw want a fun song of Martina's listen to "when God-fearing women get the blues"... like if you agree..
