- This is me opening my GCSE Results live on camera with my friend Ezzie. 2019 GCSE's. Not a levels. I collected my GCSE results from my high school, then opened them live on camera so you can see my reaction. I know you might not think these are the best results in the world, but I am very happy with what I got, I will just have to focus on getting my English now. I hope you enjoy the video. Thank you. :)

Hey, I’m the girl in the video. Our school is in a disadvantaged area, and has been in special measures for years. Our school is notoriously bad - Half of the year failed most things. It doesn’t matter if you all hate on us for not getting straight 9s.
But we tried hard.
If our results were truly as detrimental as people are saying they are, then how come I got into sixth form? How come lewis got on his college course? Surely Lewis’ talent is reflected through all the short movies he’s made, all of the videos he’s made. He was on a Shane Dawson video! That’s not marked in GCSEs.
We’re both doing very well at what we’re doing. Yes, GCSE results are important but they don’t decide your life. It’s all contextual. Yes, the results are on a piece of paper. But, you have to think. I was the only one in my class to get a distinction in my English Speaking. I was one of the highest results in my class when it came to English language.
Our school has no money, the majority of the teachers are overworked to the point of exhaustion. I think we both did pretty well considering the circumstances.
To everyone bitching about Lewis and I: you think you’re all so cool because you’re saying stuff about us behind a little screen. You’re not. Your words can be very hurtful so if you don’t have anything nice to say then how about you just don’t say it? It takes time out of your day to type it. That’s time you’re never going to get back.
We’re both happy and that’s all that matters

I found Macbeth terrible, insp. calls was meh, Jane eyre was good, and poetry was terrible. Lol level 9 here I come for sure 😢
I either didn't revise or revised for an hour the night before and passed everything with consistent 6's. I was hoping for a few 7's and 8's but that was my fault for not caring enough.

Love that I was the last year who got out with the easiest grading system only did the letter grading system not the number grading system
Sean Tremarco Mine was the first year to test. So I’ve got English and maths graded with numbers and everything else grades

What ? The number grades are a lot easier to pass since both the 9 and the 8 count as an a* and are basically the same thing, at least that’s how it is in my country

The rest are fails.

So many people in the comments saying 'oh did you even revise' or just generally criticising their lower grades. GCSE's are hard, and if you don't think they are then please kindly remove your head from your arse. Well done on passing all the subjects you did and ignore all the rude and obnoxious people in the comments who believe they are more entitled and 'intelligent' for getting higher grades. In the new GCSE's you need 14% to pass a higher science paper, and 52% to get a level 7. If you need 52% to get an A grade, that's just over half the paper. So for all those who are saying they aren't hard stop talking bullshit. They did great and they can do many things with their grades. You don't have to be super bright to be kind and have a nice personality.
if you revise properly throughout ur whole 2 years at school you wont end up with those grades. end of.

I did the language exams you got for my mocks back in December, and holy shit, you got some bad extracts. Seriously, those exams were insanely hard because the extracts were just not that well written at all.

The tests are hard af. The grade boundaries are super low. Around 70% for a 9. Just work hard for the last month and is doable

I don’t mean to rain on your parade guys but you literally only need 50% for a 7 at maths it’s not hard whatsoever tbh I think if you’re gonna do a level maths anyone below a high grade 8 is going to struggle

I left school with DDEEEEFGU...went on to college, after spending several years at college I came out with ABBCCC (I went from a Grade E to an A, in English) and the equivalent of 4 A Levels. GCSE results don't define you, I went on to successfully complete a degree and later a graduate diploma.

Heavymetalization dude at my school you need to get a high 8 to even do further maths. Getting a 7 in maths doesn’t guarantee success in A-levels . I got a 7 and I’m the dumbest in my A-level class
