This is awesome. I’ve got two Polaris sportsman 850xp’s that have bad displays..I’m going to try this method and see how it goes.

This guy found the hack that all us brute force riders were looking for. Dude I don't know who you are or how you figured this hack out but it works!!! I don't have a before picture but I do have the after picture. All I could read on my screen was 3 of the gas bars. Now it all works!!! I do have some advice to better your process and would love to collaborate with you on it. Just a few things I found out while working on this project. Thumbs up my friend! Oh sorry just realized I can't send a picture here.

Thanks, I have done 4 of these now and the I have improved the process slightly. I just wish we did not lose the front film silk screening of the fuel gauge etc... I have only had 1 of 4 where I could reuse the front film and even that one is a little off color due to the front film having dark areas on it. I am glad this video is helping people. I am trying to find the proper way to add the shiny LCD Film behind the rear polarizing film to enhance the day time visibility. After lots of reading and searching I purchased some of the shiny LCD film and applied it. It actually seemed to make it worse for viewing in day or night. If anyone knows how to do this please post and let us know.

Great video!! I was about to buy a $200 screen replacement. Change my mind, and I'll try to fix it now.

If anyone tries this, please note that the guy made a mistake applying the first sheet of polarized film on the underneath side. If he would have put it on in the correct orientation, he wouldn’t have had to replace the front sheet. Just plug it in and hold the sheet in various positions until you find the correct one and then cut. You shouldn’t have to replace the front sheet.

@@venomchris5818 today was the first time for me. I decided to try it after watching your video. I had to cut my polarized sheet diagonally to get it just right. Turned out perfectly….and I kept the original front layer so I still have the original markings.

Gonna try it soon on mine. So still remove the one underneath side, and try different positions to see how it looks better?

@@juanruvalcaba5781 removie the bottom one. Clean glass well. Then hold the polarized sheet behind the glass while you have the LCD plugged in (numbers have to be illuminated) rotate sheet until the numbers are most vivid. Then you’ll know the orientation of the polarized sheet to cut the new piece out.

Inverted looks much better, I like inverted LCD... Also that LCD seems to have a reflective layer which you didnt put, it looks worse without it.

This was talked about in the comments. I could not find a suitable reflective layer that worked well. If you know how where to buy it. Please let me know.
