- A collection of videos from my first Tiger Foam insulation project.
This did NOT fix the old house smell. I installed this vapor barrier that immediately fixed the musty smell: crawlspacerepa...
I'm about to spray foam my crawl space with 2 of the kits. They both arrived today, both kits came with only cone tips. Thank you for the advice, I'll be setting up lots of box fans.
Best of luck 👍 git er dun!

Thank you so much for the review. It was super helpful
Bro, you need to pull out that fiberglass insulation between the joists at the rim. That is one of the worst if not the worst place for air leaks in the entire house. You should have ripped that out and spray foamed that more than anything. I never had a home on a crawl and never would but I think the best practice is to seal the crawl space and allow it to become part of the conditioned space so you dont need to insulate the bottom of the floor just spray the walls to R13-R30 depending on your zone. Or you insulate the floor and not the walls but not both.
I need the air leaks...because the roof leaks...because the foundation shifts...because my 1950s house was built on jello. The insulation has asbestos in it. My main reason for spray foaming was to stop the bad musty dirt smells coming from the crawlspace; but the foam didn't help...vapor barrier worked though.
Awesome friggen review dude.
Did you find that it helped with insulation? I’m considering getting some to spray in my crawl space because our front sunroom room used to be the front porch but the previous owner enclosed it but the floors are the original porch wood floors. Air leaks which is why I think the room gets so hot in the summer and cold in the winter
No. I feel no difference. I only have 1/2” to 1” of foam. Might work if you have thicker layer. I originally tried 2” thick rigid insulation but it was difficult to fit them between the joists; a real pain. Theres no easy solution
Thanks for the video bud
Thanks for the video. You've convinced me to use comfortbatt in my crawl space.
I think some codes require a closed cell foam application before using rockwool batting. Not sure though; it might just be for attic applications.
Mistake
Thanks for the video review! I've been on the fence between DIY and paying a contractor to lay down an inch or so in my attic. Learning from some of your pain points, I think that I'll be able to do this myself. Where did you get the Tiger Foam from? Directly from their website?
Direct from their website. Make sure there's plenty of airflow. I felt a little woozy that night from not setting enough fans out. Get a quote for someone to foam your attic...seems like most of the time the price is nearly the same as buying from TigerFoam.
Doesn't look like it expanded very much. Did you use a low expansion type?
Closed cell foam. Not sure about the low expansion. I can't find the exact product I used on TigerFoam's website anymore.
I found the fan nozzle VERY messy and would’ve rather only had cone nozzles
I think the spread is uneven on the fan nozzles. Heavy spray comes out the very edges and makes a mess. Cone all the way!
@@zemaoner how many kits did you purchase total?? are you pleased with the results ?
@@RICORECONREDO 2 kits for my 1,300sqft home/crawlspace. I should have bought 1 more kit because I was about 200-300sqft short. I don't notice much difference in my home because the walls and roof have poor insulation. I primarily needed it for my old house that has a stinky crawlspace. It did help with the smell.
Lol the struggle is real 😅
You got to go a lot closer
Closer for the fan nozzle to work better? Or closer with the overall application?
@@zemaoner the fan gotta be close and try not to put so much pressure on the nozzle it makes a big diff.
