    Congratulations for your new car!!!
    I have mine GT for 8 months now (from September) almost 15.000km.
    You were very helpful with your advise all this time with the EV6 in general.
    Glad that you are about to continue in a GT !!!

    The funny thing for me is that I just got a 2024 EV6 Wind AWD with the Tech Package, and it has more power and torque than I know what to do with (coming out of a 2012 Ford Focus). I managed to get mine for $43000 (MSRP $55960 + $3285 dealer installed accessories).

    Congrats Jeff! As a EV6GT owner you will not be disappointed. You don't need the power but with all the settings you don't have to use all the power when you don't want/need to. I get 260 range on a 23 on two lane roads 45 to 60 mph and 220 in sport @ 75mph and only drops to 190 killing it and highway at 85mph so much better than claimed. I tow 2500 lbs and load 1000 lbs of tools in back and still get 150 miles range at 80mph in ATL! So it is worth it imo for the performance. I am trying to trade my Kona N for the Ioniq 5 N as soon as I can get a sweet deal like you! Thanks Jeff

    Looks Great Jeff! I also bought a White EV6 Gtline-2 here in Canada 3 weeks ago. (It is the only trim below the GT)
    1. Daily driver with way more power than I would ever need.
    2. Wife wouldn't justify that we needed the upgrade, but I am more than happy. Same aggressive look as the GT with just slightly smaller wheels.
    There are great deals here in Canada too, they very recently, reduced pricing so they are now eligible for federal and most provincial incentives.
    They were considered luxury here before and were over the threshold so it's a great time to buy. Although I'd be pissed if I already owned a GT haha

    Congrats. I wasn't clear on how much the total out-of-pocket difference was between what you owed on the last EV6 and the current EV6. I have the EV6 Wind AWD in Glacier. Is your white or glacier color? I posted a separate issue/concern about EV6 above. Lastly, congratulations for having 33K subs. I remember you at 1.6k subs. Great job. Keep eye out for black line on both front calipers. If you see a 1/4 inch perfect semi circle on outside of front calipers have dealer buy car back immediately. They still have NO fix for outer caliper contacting the wheel which can be fatal on the 2023’s.

      @@TechnicallyJeffone thing about leasing it is that your residual value is set just in case the car value is really upside down. I always tell people to lease EVs for that added protection even tho it's more expensive overall to own it. In this case tho it will work out better as I have a feeling that the value will be less than what you're going to be expecting. I've seen a used 2023 GT a few months ago with 12K miles or so for around 44K from the MSRP of 63K.
      How much was the selling price after all rebates before taxes and trade-in if you don't mind me asking? I was able to get a dealership around 2 hours away a few months ago to sell me mine for $50K before tax and after all rebates. I could've tried more but I didn't want to waste anymore time with it. I could've gotten a black one for a little cheaper but wanted white instead. Black cars are nice but I don't have time to wash it every week hehe 😊
      Also my lease is 2 years and if I don't keep it I will be looking at the EV9 GT. 😊 I've already did several mods to my car and planning to do more like lowering it as I think that's a must for a better stance. I'm wanting to do the turn signal mod too hopefully by the end of this year. Yes I know it's a lease but I'm able to reverse everything if I do decide not to keep it. Waste of money or not, it's what makes me happy while driving this awesome car for at least the next 2 years. I'm more on the side of keeping it tho but this is all dependent on true resale value as well.

    • @TechnicallyJeff
      @TechnicallyJeff  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah leasing is really smart, especially if there's uncertainty about resale. Crazy the residual on my GT is $38k and I've seen people posting used 2023 GTs with low miles for well under that lol. I got it for $61750 - $11750 rebates, so exactly $50k after the rebates. Then they gave me $8500 over kelly blue book for my trade. Definitely a solid deal.

    • @TechnicallyJeff

      Brakes are about the same feeling. You can adjust it between normal and sport in the settings. For comfort, I drove my Wind 250 miles to the dealership and the GT 250 miles home and both were about the same comfort wise. The GT has a lot more power but you give up a little range and the power seats and cooling. Cooled seats aren't necessary with the alcantara on the seats though.

    I hope that you have a voice with KIA since the demo car that you reviewed. I went away for vacation for 7 days. Car charged the car to 100% so not an issue. When I returned, the car app would not allow remote start because it hadn't been driven in several days. This sucks if someone wants to autostart their vehicle at the airport to turn on the heater so the car is defrosted and warm upon arrival.
    I can send you the image from my screenshot from my Kia Connect App, with car at 90%, which says: "Vehicle Connectivity Warning Action may be required to re-establish Kia Connnect connectivity. As a battery-saving feature, your vehicle will pause communications with Kia Connect after a few days of inactivity. Manually start the vehicle to reconnect to Kia Connect." This is dumb and should only happen when the car battery drops below 30%.

    • @TechnicallyJeff
      @TechnicallyJeff  5 месяцев назад

      That's really interesting. I suppose it's designed to do that to keep the car from waking up to refresh the app info and draining the 12v. I agree though, it should just be able to be checked and then charge the 12v when necessary using the high voltage battery.

      I would say the alcantara will keep you warmer on colder days than leather or vinyl. On hot days it won't be burning you like leather or vinyl would. The memory and power seats I could do without since I'm the only one driving it but it should've had vents seats at least. They were able to do it on the 5N so why not here? I'm side the revised one coming up in 25 will get it tho.
      One thing to keep in mind tho is that the remote start on your key fob will active the last air conditioning setting. So just make you leave it on whiling turning off your car. If you don't it does nothing. I'm sure it's smart enough to know that it's hot outside and go turn on ghr AC but it doesn't. All it does is to get you going faster that's all. With ghr Kia Access app you could set the temperature of the remote start tho. I'm sure they're trying to up sell you to keeping the subscription if anything. I like remote starting on the key fob instead as it's just there and you could do it quickly vs longer on your phone.

      I can second that. I have had my GT since February, 2023 and my overall usage is 3.4 miles/ kWh. In the summer I can get close to 300 miles if I drive conservatively - and that’s in Normal mode, not Eco, with enough blasts in GT mode to keep me happy. The car’s range has WAY outperformed my expectations. Not to mention the build quality and the fun factor. I have owned performance BMWs for almost 30 years but I decided to not be a badge snob and try something new. I’m so glad I did.
