Thank you for sharing this !. How I organise my books is as follows. I have a shelf for Spell and Ritual books, a shelf for Deities and History, a shelf for Magicka lPractice eg lesrning about Wicca or Traditional Witchcraft, a shelf for herbal, apothecary, crystals etc, and another shelf for divination.I keep a separate bookshelf for the books I'm currently reading or using and that I haven't read yet. I tried alphabetically organising them as you have, but I struggled with it, so I came up with this method, and it works for me. Yes, I own a lot of books !!! 💜🌛🌕🌜💜

This was such fun! The key for me was when you said the problem with alphabetizing is you have to maintain it, lol! I currently have my books categorized by subject - tarot books, folk magic, trad witchcraft, musician biographies, etc.. Being neurodivergent, this type of organizing won't drive me insane. I can just pop the book in anywhere in its proper category. You may want to do this in a different way - an "A" section, "B" section, etc., so you don't have to go through the alphabet every time. I totally relate to reciting abc's, lol!! 😊

I like the knock knacks added, I have a bunch on my book shelves. I added small jewelry books with glass doors in between books. I put small goddess statues in the glassed in areas, and crystals or other small items in the drawers. If you decide the greenery is too fussy, I suggest taking it down and painting ivy on the edges of your shelves. That way you could have the greenery without the fussiness or dust collecting. I do love your videos!

You can also stand a book flat against the back of the shelf facing our and add something in front of it, this may take up good shelf space. I like your decorative items visible it brings out your personality.

Now that you have this master list, keep it current when you get new books! I'd break down the shelves into A, B, etc and number the shelves of where they should be located (like A-4). A column to keep track of who you loan a book to. I need to do this. Thank you for the inspiration!
On loaning books, I LOVE loaning books with the request that people write thoughts and notes in the margins, as legibly as possible, and if they use highlighters, a different color! It's like having a written conversation and often brings insight into deep topics.
Finally, I really appreciate how real you let this process become. 😌
    Thank you!
Edit: per your request, many of my favorites might not be considered "witchy" by some but the circumstances around the book coming to me were too syncronistic and impactful to my path to be anything but witchy. "Do I Have to Wear Black?" by Mortellus, "Medium Mentor" by MaryAnn DiMarco, "Earth Magic" by Marie D Jones, "The Little Work" by Durgadas Allon Duriel, and "Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself" by Dr Joe Dispenza.
I'm going to have to watch the video again when I can pause and add more titles to my wish list 😂

I have converted what was a spare bedroom into a library. I'm glad I have done it but would not like to be starting it from scratch again. I also have made a copy of the spread sheet on a memory stick so I will not lose it if my laptop goes down.

🎉 You did it! That is such a big pain to alphabetize all the books! I also have dyslexia and that really makes things more difficult. For me, I use visual place marker- like a small pot would separate a group of letters from other like A thru C from D thru G, and so on. It also serves as a book stopper- which can be removed to add more books for later. The best advice I've ever received is that when you organize high traffic areas is to leave room to grow! So I suggest more decor! And maybe some more empty space on the very bottom. It also is a great way to use more of your lovely decor too. I also enjoyed that you gave recommendations of the books as you went through them. ❤ Thank you for all your wonderful videos!

My favourite witchcraft book is no longer with me and I cannot remember the name of it, I've searched everywhere for it on line using basic keywords.
I got it when I was a kid, I asked my very Christian mother if she could buy it for me just to test her. Surprisingly, she did buy it for me and cited "free will" as her reason for letting me have it. Years later when I was a teenager, I was encouraged to burn it for obvious reasons. It was a non-fiction book about the history of witchcraft and it was aimed at late primary school aged kids/early teens. It was a large hard cover book that covered a wide variety of topics, and it featured famous paintings, etchings, and photographs of spiritual practitioners and figures from mythology. If I remember correctly, I think the page on the Evil Eye was the same page that detailed the significance of the numbers 0-9 in numerology. If this sounds familiar to anyone and you know the book I'm talking about, please let me know because I'd love to hunt for another copy on eBay if I can.

I don't have many books, in fact I have not been reading as much as I once was, I guess the books I have read the most times are "Born In Albion" by David Williams & Kate West & "A Witch Alone " by Marian Green. I really should get back into reading more. Watching you doing your books has inspired me to do more reading, thank you Hearth. 👍💚.

I know this may be a big ask of you but do you think that maybe we coukd get like, a full list of your books now? You'll of course get more books but I'm just really curious about books and I struggle to find unique books in my area, online and in stores :(
It would just be nice to have a list of tons of unique books to pick up from a practitioner I already know and respect ❤️

Sorting out the bookshelves too, try to put same subjects together, double rows. My favorite most used book Natural Magick - John Michael Greer.
Have 2 copies it was republished as Encyclopedia of Natural Magick , buy it again thinking it was a new book.

Awesome Job. Love the knick knacks. Is that an Ipad that your list is on? I need a new computer/tablet and was wondering what you had. It's good sized. Awesome video!

This was lovely as always Hearth! So fun 🤩 - was just thinking as a suggestion, what about colour co-ordinated rather than alphabetical? I know you've prob already done it now 😂but I did my bookshelves according to colour and love it - each shelf is kind of different in terms of colour order - because u have to make allowances for the size of the books etc but still I think it looks lovely and it's a pain to keep things alphabetical tbh. Lovely to see such a vlogy-style vid from you again - like the lockdown days on your other channel! 😉🌟 Xxx

I'm still on the beginning of my journey so I haven't read that many books yet. I think I like Juliet Diaz' Witchery because it's a really gentle introduction, I read Kelden's Crooked Path at the same time and while I really enjoyed the proposed exercises, I decided to skip many of them, since I didn't feel secure enough to summon/ encounter. Recently I finished the Wiccapedia which was given to me as a Christmas present from my sister in law. I'm not Wiccan myself so I had some difficulties with it. Especially after reading the Crooked Path, the Wiccapedia just came across as superficial on some chapters. The authors raise some good points though and some exercises I really enjoyed. Currently on my TBR are piling up: The Book of English Magic, The Dark Side of Japan and The Sorcerer's Secrets - after this video, I have added roughly 10 more books to this list... send help... or books

That thing about keeping random crap on the bookcase and altar. My bookcase IS my altar, and the amount of random shit I've had to pick up and find where it goes is astronomical
