Ezekiel seven grain for me.
But if i needed to eat a bread off the shelf and didnt have access to Ezekiel (red bag) I would get Daves PowerSeed bread (1g sugar) this one gram of sugar is from fruit juice.
A better comparison would be Dave's Killer Organic Power Seed bread vs. Ezekiel bread. It's the red label one. If you're wanting less sodium, no sugar at all, zinc, selenium, and manganese, Ezekiel is superior. However, the Dave's Power Seed still has 4 grams of fiber, 5 grams of protein, and only 1 gram of sugar per slice.
It depends on what you're looking for. Ezekiel is more nutrient dense, but by no means does this mean the Power Seed isn't good. Some say it tastes better than Ezekiel, with myself included. If you're into weightlifting, I personally feel fuller longer on the Power Seed before a workout compared to Ezekiel. Both are low glycemic and non-GMO.
Totally agree with you, powerseed is a definite close second.😉
Great comment thanks!!! I didn't have that bread on hand at the time when I made the video, thanks for the info.
Celebrating a three digit weight loss thanks to Ezekiel low sodium, love it toasted😅
@@lindamercantini5731how many pieces of bread a day are you able to eat on average and still maintain your weight goals?
Carbs, how about carbs, diabetics would wonder?
I Love how Daves killer Bread hires felons and honestly its still better than most. I still remember when I got out of prison after 2.5yrs for marijuana grow at age 18. I was released when I was 21 after being denied parole twice I discharged and you know I couldn't get a job for nothing. Nobody would hire a felon! Finally I had to lie! I had no other options except crime and I wasn't doing that! All the applications asked if I had a felony , how many, and for what! Taco Bueno hired me! Thank God cause that job literally saved my life. They never found out and I was never honest about it to an employer again! I even worked Walmart corporate for 5 years! Im retired now getting old with an 18yo son. I guess I was lucky nobody ever actually ran my background after hiring me! 🙏God help us!
I hear you my friend! My brother always had similar troubles -- I'm glad you were able to find your way! Well done.
Bro I love eating at bueno in Tulsa.
When you do no sugar and no oil, it really helps to narrow things down on what is healthiest. I eat the low sodium Ezekiel bread regularly. I have a system of freezing it until I'm ready to use it, refrigerating it, and toasting it, mostly for avocado toast, and I've never seen the bread moldy. I go through almost one loaf in one week. I like their cereal, too!
Thanks for the tip!!
Wow hipster heaven
Do I have to freeze it the entire time even after I open it
@@fulldeckjoker3372 No, you don't have to, but you could do that. I refrigerate it once I start using it, but the pieces probably would stay even fresher if I kept it frozen. It depends on how often you eat it really. I go through a loaf in 7 or 8 days, so refrigerating it is fine with me, but if I ate less of it or ate it less frequently, keeping it frozen would be the better option. It's just sometimes hard to break apart when frozen and takes 30 minutes for the pieces to thaw out. I use a steak knife and you should be careful to not cut yourself if you do that. I usually remember to put the loaf in the refrigerator hours before I will need it, so I won't have to deal with it frozen.
@fulldeckjoker3372 I spit my loaf, half in thr freezer.
Ezekiel Bread is drier than Dave's Killer Bread, but it is awesome toasted! It also helps to toast it if you keep it in the freezer, like I do.
Thank you!
I was making my online shopping list and wanted a review on these 2 breads and I’m sold on Ezekiel! Going to try it tmrw. Thanks!
Awesome! 💓
Love this review! Love the energy! I usually buy Dave’s Killer Bread but for nutritional reasons I now purchase Ezekiel Bread.
"Wait, where did the fat go?"
It's a rounding thing. Example... if a slice of bread has 0.4 grams of mono-unsaturated fat and 0.4 grams of poly-unsturated fat, then the slice has a total of 0.8 grams of fat, which would be rounded up to 1 gram. However, the individual fat components would be rounded down to zero because they are each less than half. And that's where the fat went! Hope this help clear up the mystery.
Thanks for the information!
Dave does not own Daves killer bread anymore. He sold it I think 10 years ago. Dave's Killer Bread sold for $275M cash to Flowers foods.
Wowwww!
Interesting. She needs to do better homework before presenting a 'knowledgable' video.
@@alexandrawhitelock6195 I hear you. The point of this video is not historical information about the company. The point of the video is how to read the label and decide which bread you want to eat.
Don't eat anything with soybeans.
Bummer! Now I can’t even trust Dave’s bread?.. grrr
I love the comparison video, thank you for breaking it down for us. I love the Ezekiel Raisin bread. The last one I bought at Walmart was 8.00. Yikes. I don't eat much bread. So it's a treat at that price. Cheers looking forward to the challenge. See you in the family. Got my urge jar last week. Thank you. 😊
You are so welcome! You rock! See you in the fam!
Thank you for a great review. I allow one day per week to eat bread. Dave's killer bread is what I have been eating
Sounds like a great plan that fits your lifestyle and now you know even more about it! ❤️
YUM!
Very informative and love your upbeat spirit! Thank you!
If you have the time is to mill your own wheat berries for flour, ground flax, wheat bran, oat bran, and psycillium. Impossible to beat nutrition, souble/insoluble fiber, and protien with any brand by a long shot.
Very helpful! Nice to see how the breads compare. I will be going with Ezekiel moving forward. Thanks!
Yes, good move Donna!! :) Glad to hear it
If you make a sandwich use one slice of baves bread and one slice Ezekiel.Taste half as good and half healthy.
I like bave's bread and put coconut oil on it and fry one side in skillet.❤
Haha, that's a great idea!! Half healthy!! :D Works!!
The nutrition is listed on the front of Dave's bread. Not sure how that's "marketing".
Good job reviewing both, you did it the way I would have. I use to do Ezekiel at some point but then switch to Dave bread, don't recall the complete reason. I believe the ad like 21 grains got me. I will return to Ezekiel. Again great job...thanks.
Daves has added sugars. Same for other versions. Changed to pumpernickle as shooting for lower carb and sugars
Thank you so much for this video! I had thought they were similar on the acceptance in a nutritarian program, I learned a lot here!
I'm so glad!! 💓💓👏💞
Thank for sharing I am going for Ezekiel bread I won't what is best
Have you ever read Ezekiel? That "bread" recipe was a prophesy to the Jews that they were going into a famine because of their disobedience. It's the food for starving people. Crazy that we think it's a biblical food that's healthy for us.
Was always a fan of Dave’s but just added Ezekiel bread to my shopping list. Gonna give it another try!
Yesss Susan!! Yay, let me know how it goes. I like it toasted best!
I heard that Dave's killer bread changed the ingredients in the bread it's no longer that healthy anymore
@@angelaholmes8888 just bought some. That’s false
What are your background and qualifications please? I dont see it on your channel. Just curious because of the coaching, etc that you offer. Thanks
I'm a Life Coach School certified coach, as well as certified in plant base eating from eCornell, and I've been doing it for 12+ years :)
It might have been a better comparison if you had compared the Ezekiel to Dave's sprouted bread.
Probably! i didn't know that existed! Never seen it before
I love Dave's but my next shop will be Ezekiel . Freezer the bread or just keep it in the refrigerator? I'm not clear freeze everyday means for me I have to defrost every morning ţo eat it seems like will be soggy 😮
I would freeze it, unless you're gonna eat within a week. It goes moldy QUICK!
I use both. I use bread sparingly. I keep it in the freezer and toast when I feel like a peanut butter 'burger' or soft boiled egg.
I believe that for someone who is unable to make their own bread for whatever reason, the only good choice at stores is the frozen Ezekiel bread. I find it odd that they say it doesn't have flour -- kind of a weird way to describe it, since at least the loaf you were looking at DID have wheat in it, and of course the most common flour used for bread is made by grinding wheat (and other grains and plants). If I specifically wanted sprouted bread I would buy it. In the Bible, Ezekiel bread is NOT indicated as having been sprouted, but I think it is wonderful that this bread has been made available (though I would NOT want to eat the one with the soybeans). I have listened to a food scientist, Sue Becker, and learned that home-milled flour is the only way to go for making from scratch (unless you are doing the sprouted route) and FRESH whole grain flour has 40 of the 44 nutrients humans most need -- whereas the flour and breads sold in the stores have NONE of those nutrients except for four synthetic vitamins and has other things added and this is all done for SHELF LIFE (which is a misnomer because it is already DEAD, which is why it doesn't die on the shelf). Before I knew all this I thought Dave's Killer Bread was really great. That same food scientist says that NONE of the wheat grown in the U.S. is genetically engineered, though it is no doubt coming. Baking REAL (that is, very freshly milled) whole grain flour should be used as soon as possible because so much nutrition is lost within hours and days. When I have leftover flour after making something, I put what is left over in a mason jar in the freezer and use it as soon as possible. And YES, after I let my home-baked bread cool I slice it and FREEZE it. I just take down a few slices at a time from the freezer and if I toast the bread it doesn't even need to thaw first. It is a very healing bread! No more Dave's Killer Bread for me!
Sounds lovely! Thank you!
Why did you note camper DKB red label that has 1gm of sugar ?
Never seen that on my shelves :)
Will be buying Ezekiel bread from now on, thank you!
you are quite welcome! So glad it was helpful
I use the Ezekiel Gluten free bread, keep in freezer and take out as I use it..
Great video
Which gluten free can you please specify. I don’t know which one you refer too. Thanks so mich
Thank you for this! You should do a quick Short to accompany it.
Good idea! Thanks!
If you don’t care for Ezekiel is Daves the way to go?
Ezekiel bread seems to be a great choice but it is very expensive (around $8)! I'm looking for recipes to bake my own bread.
Just Google it! About 7 ingredients. It's good too.
Yes great idea!! Good luck!
I pay $12 dolars so $ 8 is still a good price.
Ezekiel is flourless, it has sprouted grains. I don’t have it everyday cause it can be harsh on my colon. I tried making toasted cheese sandwich in George Forman grill. Not to bad but, kind of tastes like carbord.
gotcha!
Any explanation for that?

I’m going to my nearby Safeway and will look for Ezekiel bread . Thanks
Would a nut and seed allergy eliminate Ezekiel?
I buy Dave's power seed bread, I've found some weird stuff in it, a piece of wire once and then a pebble, it's like that compressed Mexican weed back in the 90's, I'm just waiting for the day I go to make a sandwich and find postal scales in my bread.
Aww you just fd $9 of mine, dont worry I got venmo
As opposed to sodium a much better comparsion is 5:1. 5 grams of carbs to 1 gram of fiber. Less than 5 to 1 is better, 4, 3,2,:1.
Does killer bread - the good seed type with the red label is the best! It has no added sugar. It only has 1 g of sugar per slice, which is fruit juice Sweden. The ratio of fiber two carbs is excellent also.
Sorry, typo… That should’ve been it only has 1 g of sugar due to fruit juice as the sweetener
Yes that's a great one! I didn't have access to that one when I made this video.
Where do you purchase this Ezekiel bread please?
I buy them at Walmart frozen food section
I get them at whole foods, but maybe they have them at walmart as comment below says?
Walmart and Trader Joe’s.
I love Dave's Good Seedbread best! Fabulous toasted with grass fed butter. Tastes better.
Thank you for the good advice on how to judge a food product by its nutrition label, rather than relying on the marketing.
I have a comment and a question:
COMMENT: Context is important. Ezekiel 4:9 wasn't given to just be a healthy bread recipe (although it does seem to be healthy -- that's all Ezekiel apparently ate for over a year), God told Ezekiel to eat it as rations.
God was giving Ezekiel strange things to do in order to get the attention of the nation, and to warn them about what was coming. God often goes to great lengths to get the attention of the people He loves (that includes everyone. And that's why He sent Jesus to die in our place -- yes, even for killer bread Dave ☺️).
In context, the bread was also to be baked over cow manure 🤢. I'm glad the bread in the store is just "Ezekiel 4:9" and not "Ezekiel 4" bread.
QUESTION (okay, so it's kind of commentish too): In the video, I think you said something about saturated fats being bad. I imagine that the hydrogenated fats that we chemically tweak probably aren't good; but I read that saturated fats, and unsaturated fats (poly and mono) are found in natural things like coconuts, milk, fish, beef, nuts, etc.
I wonder if this notion that we have been taught (that saturated fat is bad), has contributed to higher numbers of people developing dementia and similar conditions.
When you said, "saturated fat" (I don't remember exactly which fat you said), are you talking more about just the hydrogenated fats that we should look out for on the nutrition labels?
Great comment and thanks for the Biblical context. Yes I'm glad it wasnt baked over manure too!!! :D hahaha
I have high cholesetrol so I watch any sort of saturated fat. I'm not an expert on all that, but I think it's important information. Dr Fuhrman the creator of the Nutritarian diet, recommends having nuts and seeds as well as a DHA/EPA supplement daily in order to support brain health.
This was SOO helpful! Thank you!
Yay! You are so welcome!
I prefer Dave's power seed bread! as a very physically active person; the little bit of sugar and sodium of Dave's vs Ezekiel; I find it gives me a lot more energy. I also like Trader Joe's whole grain high fiber bread. I do not have a sugar problem mostly because I learned to burn it off by simply walking everyday. I am surprise she didn't emphasized the physical activity part; as keeping healthy isn't just what you eat!
We mainly focus on the food part here, but I will be expanding more to other topics in the future. Of course lots of things are important, but my brand has always been about Eating to Live, though I'm shifting now.
I switched to Ezekiel bread because I found it does not cause bloating and it is guilt free
Agree!
No matter what I eat, I never feel guilty. 🤷🏼♂️
This was VERY helpful. Thank you!!

Wow amazing details. I’m so happy I found you 😊
Eventually someone give a real honest review on food.
Regarding the E bread it is amazing. Are you familiar with more healty breads like this? Also I am thinking and would like to bh do some coaching with you in the future. I’ll keep in touch after I’ll review other videos you posted on channel.
Until then I wish you a happy new year and please for all means keep up your good work. Thanks so much. God bless you 💜
Thanks so much!! I do some coaching, sure. And no, I don't know of any other breads that are as healthy as Ezekiel.
Dave's Killer Bread is still processed which is the biggest issue especially if you are on a Keto Diet or trying to avoid metabolic syndrom. It's obviously better than most breads but Ezekiel is the clear winner since it has zero processing.
Thanks for the tip! ~Beth, The Watering Mouth Team
I am a Christian and believe in the power of words. Why would I put something in my body that says "killer"? Maybe when the branding changes.
Thank you for this analysis! ❤ you have beautiful skin!
Thank you!!
Cinnamon raisin is the only Ezekiel i will eat and enjoy and i like organic eggs in it
Awww -- yep that ones great!
And the winner is Ezekiel bread, my choice. Great video, thanks
Good choice! you're very welcome!
I learned the Dr. N., was telling the truth. Not that I doubted him, just really haven't had the opportunity to compare, so I just kind of trusted him and took his word. Good thing I did I guess. Thank you.
Welcome!
I guess when Dave created the bread, he didn’t want it to taste like sawdust. A little Sugar isn’t a lot and it sure isn’t Wonder Bread.
Ezekiel is great toasted with avocado its excellent or almond butter and banana and honey. It's so delicious.
I love my Ezekiel bread toasted, with organic mild salsa, no butter and an egg.
Love my Ezekiel bread toasted, open face with organic salsa no butter, topped with one egg
extremely satisfying

Thank you for the very informative review, one item that should be included in reviews is the price. Given the majority of people are on tight financial budgets and many healthy products are priced out of their reach, cost should also be a consideration in the overall rating.
Makes sense!
Ty, I needed to hear this. Just diagnosed with cdk
That was so informative
Thankyou
Ezekiel bread I like for something toasted.
A PBJ? Dave's white or rye.
You just have to add different textures and sweetness to Ezekiel bread or it is a little strong and dry. Dress it up for great nutrition.
The DKB story is kind of sad, because the original family bakery in Portland turned out a very nice Adventist-style loaf. The killer bread was a cynical, dumbed-down product, by contrast, and things only got worse after Flowers Foods bought them out nine years ago.
I met Dave once at a food show. He gave off the vibe of a guy who had just scraped through his anger management class. He mostly stays on his meds these days.
Oh wow!!
How did things "get worse" when Flower Foods bought them? The ingredients are still organic, non-GMO and wholesome. Much better product than nearly all of the breads on supermarket shelves.
Love me some Dave's bread. Don't eat much bread but if I do it's Dave's.
Thank you for the great comparison! I very seldom eat bread, but when I do its Ezekiel. I keep it in the freezer and just take out a slice at a time, it lasts quite a while that way.
You are moving the ingredient list so many times that I can't focus on it, do the commercial over and get an ingredient list that you can comment on, your commercial will go out to readers much less dizziness.
I’ll always continue to go with Dave’s.
Have loved Ezekiel bread for many years. My parents either made their own homemade bread from whole grains they ground up themselves. I don't like the texture Of dave's killer bread. Way to soft perhaps leave the sugar out. My parents had a health food store and we lived on a ranch growing much of our own food. Grew up healthy, Have gone from healthy to unhealthy since leaving the ranch. When I Become sick i always go back to my roots to heal whatever ails I have. Usually caused by big pharma antibiotics and prednisone, Iodine contrast with CT scan. With Organic non GMO whole foods and it works... PS don't get a CT scan with Iodine Contrast it has almost killed me for real. Encephalophy from the contrast caused so much damage they don't tell you about. I walked into the hospital had to be wheelchaired out because i could not walk right. I told them its from the iodine contrast the nurse and Doctor in the emergency ward told me it could not be from that. They sent me home where i had my brain blow up and parkinsons I could not walk talk or stop shaking for a very long minute. Scripps Memorial hospital will not warn you so do your homework this contrast has caused many deaths and lifelong harm...
oh my goodness I'm so sorry for your troubles! I have had MRIs with contrast before and was lucky. I too agree with the Dave's thing. I have it sometimes because of my kids but I do prefer Ezekiel nowadays.
The NOVA food classification system rated it a 4 as being highly processed food. They use sugar products as preservatives. Been using a breadmaker for over twenty years (same one) saving money and adding fresh nuts and grains is way way cheaper, and the smell is wonderful. The screeching guitar of their commercials is so annoying. To each his own. Happy eating!
Great feedback thanks!!!
EXCELLENT job 🎉
I believe steel cut oatmeal would be a great choice over bread
Freeze half. Keep rest in fridge. Rotate when used. I prefer this bread toasted with lots of butter or peanut butter.
I love all the stats but Dave's simply tastes better. 😅
I really like Ezekiel Bread. Thank you for sharing the comparison. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓

Ezekiel is better
I don' usually make a sandwich with bread. I use egg wrap. Probably make vegetarians angry but I believe they are healthier.

The Ezekiel cinnamon raisin with peanut butter is good
Dave's Killer bread was far too sweet for me. I never liked the taste. But I love Ezekiel bread, especially toasted.
sweeheart, we dont care how it is marketed… we care about the sugar…. sodium has no impact whatsoever…. its the sugar is the killer. fructose is the killer.. if the carbs are high then it is not so suitable for diabetes. 😂
That's not the information we subscribe to over here :)

Sodium contributes to high blood pressure just as much as added sugars. You should be tracking both.

Hey guys, I think she does private coaching.
Ok thanks
You gotta be willing to compromise to convert folks to healthier foods. Dave’s killer bread seems to be a big step in the right direction from breads like wonder bread or even Pepperidge Farm. Life is too short to be eating tasteless food. I have too much of a sweet tooth to avoid sugar so I like to at least avoid the corn syrups.
I hear you, but I also love Ezekiel now that I've been having it so long. Don't underestimate the power of your ability to adapt to new things and learn to love them
I tried Ezekiel bread and it tastes to bland and dry. Id rather have daves bread with slightly more sodium and a little sugar and have a product that tastes 100 times better.
Dave's is the best!
Yum!
Dave’s has a sprouted bread also, maybe should have used it to compare it w/the Ezekiel sprouted bread, I would like to see that comparison. I do try and buy organic sprouted bread when I can.
I buy the Aldi version of Dave's killer bread. It's just as good and a little bit cheaper. I know my kids would not eat Ezekiel.
When in Poland and Prague, I had fresh, while the bread every few days. I would it was easier to get here in California. Fresh, warm is the best.
Yes Cherie, those are both kosher symbols from different organizations! I love Ezekiel!
Thanks!
There is no sugar in Exk's, a little sugar in Dave's and a whole ocean of sugar in this presenter. Gag me with a diabetic's spoon.
I'm not sure what that means. I think it's a criticism. But I'll say thank you anyway.
Just by the name, I will choose Ezequiel.
...but Dave is a key figure in the Bible. Jesus is from the lineage of David.
Dave's Killer Bread does not have a TON of sugar. It is a much healthier choice than most other breads. If you don't eat a lot of salt throughout the day you'll be fine with this bread. I consider my overall diet.
Dave's killer bread is good for you
I have to disagree
