I'm convinced the GI Joe team over at Hasbro sent you this to really tip you over the edge on the Marvel Legends line. I was convinced they watch your reviews because they've emphasized most of the articulation and aesthetic points you've been banging on for YEARS, but now I think they did this so you'll lose your mind on each disappointing Marvel Legends you get.
I beginning to believe your right I think Hasbro has probably been trying to get Disney to loosen the reigns on the budget but they won’t listen there set on there fees and was, Hasbro been trying to show them if they don’t loosen up on the reigns with the budget Marvel Legends is gonna fail because it’s reached it limits with what they can do and nobody else is gonna deliver the kind of quality and work at this price point then them. They have to reduce there fee price to get more on the back end so that more can be put more into figure’s for better quality and results.
You should do more GI Joe reviews. You can unplug Fiona's head and put the collar behind the sculpt, so it will look tight like you wanted, "that's what she said."
"Crocodiles do indeed have scales, although they are very different from any other reptile scale. Crocodile scales are actually called ‘Scutes’. They are very big in size, due to the nature of a crocodiles size in general, and have the density of bone. Amazingly the scutes are not attached to any part of a crocodiles skeleton, therefore this armoured skin is incredibly flexible and durable. This means a crocodile is able to move fast through the water effortlessly." googled it
Yeah they are all scales, the bigger ones ones on the back are still scales, but have boney deposits called osteoderms, giving them away more protection. As for a favorite gi joe character, I never cared for the series, but after finding out that a character like this exists it probably him:)
Low-Light, Sharpshooter/Spotter, he was an Instructor for the Army Marksmanship Program. Hopefully Hasbro decks him out with a bunch of equipment like the "Pursuit of Cobra" figure release.
You can pop off the head of the croc to put the collar on or just pull it back to fit. They made the collar with enough circumference- I've seen a couple other reviewers pull it all the way back where you would expect, but (probably for logistical simplicity) they produced it round instead of to fit- some boiling water should do the trick for pulling it over the head all the way. I probably won't pay the full $40 with a preorder, but I'll definitely get one when I get a Honey cash back offer or another Gamestop gift card deal or something. I just bought my first Classified figure with the Pulse 40% off sale: Profit Director Destro just looks so cool and for $16 I'm super happy. If they release a hooded Cobra Commander, I'm definitely getting him too!
@@garethjames1300 He's shown with a hood in the table top game that just came out. There was never any official word on it, just speculation. I wouldn't expect it to be at retail but it's still in the cards.
Wishing you just paid the 40 bucks to preorder yet? Lmfao! I always get a good laugh when people don't preorder Joe figures thinking they are just gonna walk into a store and find one lol.
I had no plans of getting this release as I'm not a big Croc Master fan but this review made me change my mind. Now I'm on the hunt for Crocky and Fiona. Thanks for another awesome and helpful review!
I loved Croc Master when I was a kid and I still love it now, so I own the classic and I'm waiting for this version to be shipped. G.I. Joe Classified have been releasing good action figures, I'm under the impression it's a different team and I wish Hasbro would just make them work double time and fire the ML team. The only things I'm not enjoying regarding this line are their marketing strategies and the release consistency. They're always releasing the version no one wants first and the version everyone wants second so they can try and force us to buy more then one version of the same character by playing the FOMO card. I've also been having some difficulty to follow the releases, specially because some are exclusive and I can't get a hold of them unless I'm whiling to pay extra on the aftermarket which I'm not. As usual I agree with your critics, thanks for the review Anthony.
Q: Would you consider reviewing more G.I. Joe action figures now that you have witnessed and received that this products knock the quality of our Marvel Legends out of the ballpark?
@@AnthonysCustoms thank you, Sir. I prefer to hear you enjoying a good product because you are sincere and none biases. However I know that you spend alot of money and well you are passionate.
My GI Joe characters are: General Hawk, Beachhead, Cpt.Gridiron, Scarlett, Snakeyes, Pathfinder and Big-Ben. As for Cobra: Cobra Commander, Baroness, Destro, Firefly, Zartan, Zarana and B.A.T.S (battle android troopers)
No.. bane is like dc's version of crocmaster.. he debuted years before bane was ever a thing. Crocmaster first appearance 1988, bane first appearance 1993...
When I was a kid, my favorite GI Joe figure was Astro Viper (I though it was a character instead of an army build figure). Now, is, as you all can see, Flint.
This guy reminds me of a high level goon that was trained by Bane and Killer Croc or something, great character design haha. I'm really enjoying these Gi Joe figure reviews, it's neat to get a perspective on something the reviewer and some viewers aren't too familiar with. My favorite would be Storm Shadow as well and for the female characters Lady Jayne is pretty cool
Not a GI Joe fan; but pleasantly surprised how much Fiona, the crocodile, has going on! She's my favourite part about this release, and I can see people being interested in her alone for their collections
Snakeeyes used to be my favorite G.I. Joe. I like ninjas, masked characters, and silent protagonists. Then I noticed everyone seemed to like Snakeeyes. So now Beachhead is my favorite. He wears a mask, but he is a loud mouth drill sargent.
My favorite Joe as a kid was Duke or Flint. Now it’s Roadblock. That might be partially due to GI Joe Renegades. I loved Roadblock in that series. Storm Shadow is a classic design. I like both him and Snake Eyes for the simple, clean lines they usually have. But yeah, of the Joes it’s Roadblock. Cobra, it’s this guy. And that’s because I had his figure as a kid.
The underbelly of crocs and snakes are called "scutes". On crocs and gators they are made up of a bone-like cartilage, and for snakes they are more elastic and smooth to allow the muscles to contract for movement.
@@TheMattTrakker They are also the belly as well. Keeled reptiles also have modified scutes, but are arranged differently. Crocodilians have unique ventral scutes that are present on all species except estuarine I believe. Forgive me, but I dont remember the exact term for the belly scutes. The belly scutes are made up of a different material than the bony ones on top but they are also called scutes. This helps them slide on land easier. Sorry....not to get technical, but my wife and I have a pair of Cuvier's dwarf caiman. I'd love to own an alligator, but sadly they are illegal where we live. Still caiman are amazing pets!
I have a favorite for both the Joes and Cobra: My favorite Joe is a tossup between Roadblock, Quick Kick, or Spirit. Snake Eyes is cool too from a design standpoint, but I like the personality of the other three. As far as Cobra, it's Destro. Despite being an arms dealer, he seems more like a competent leader than Cobra Commander or at least a more imposing one. Plus the dude's got a metal mask head, what's not to like?
You can actually place that collar all the way to the back of her head. Just simply remove the head and place it from the back part of the head as it's actually soft enough to fit the collar. That's how I did mine and it's a perfect fit.
I’m a fan of GI Joe and I was born in the mid 80’s and had a hand full of figures when I was a kid but for some reason I wasn’t all that interested in The Gi Joe line, but your reviews of these figures are making me think about giving this line a try.
There’s almost notches on the paint on Fiona’s neck. Almost looks like that where they want the collar to go. I’ll have to see if mine is painted like that.
Serpentor. Their stomach covering is still considered to be scales. Perhaps the boots are made of alligator, since they're apparently inferior to crocodiles in his mind?
My favorite character is Snake Eyes, but there are a lot of characters that I like from both factions. That's the best thing of the cartoon and the toyline, it was crowded and some of them were pretty good.
Tell you what I do like about those drop down hips, they can be a nice way to add a little height to a figure that doesn't quite scale as tall as you'd like next to another one.
Bobby Vala gave an interview on the Specter Creative channel where he talked about perceived value. So if they were to even out Marvel Legends with GI Joe they would probably just bring down the quality of the GI Joe figures not make the MLs better.
Hasbro is so weirdly inconsistent. Like, yes, they own G.I. Joe in its entirety, so they don't need to pay licensing fees. But that can also be said about Power Rangers, and the Lightning Collection is FILLED with problems and half-ass decisions, so it can't be just that.
Do you think the GI Joe Classified Series is possibly the best "$20" line? It seems like you get the most bang for your buck; articulation, accessories, sculpts. No paint, sure. And the reuse isn't super noticeable or matters. Just curious what you think.
Storm shadow and Sgt Slaughter. These guys always seem to have more love behind them than Legends do. Maybe because its a Hasbro property. Only thing I wish is that they would go to a ball peg based upper torso but it seems these days no one can get that right either. Looking at you McFarlane...
Why is there a wire on this croc's tail but not Superior Ock's tentacles? What is Hasbro's actual policy on wired articulation? I use Superior Ock as an example cause that was the last Doc Ock tentacle inclusion I remember releasing from them.
Yeah the Rhino is an ugly gun, but the guy carrying it is wearing crocodile scales for armor and a giant reptile eye belt buckle. He's got questionable fashion sense.
I take fionas head off then put that leash on. I make it work pushing it down a bit. Well looks better that way. My favorite Joe is still Shipwreck...Okay Ill say someone different this time. umm Alpine.
It might be better if Hasbro scrapped the BAF system and instead made ML figures as good as theese G.I Joe figures in terms of sculpt, paint, accessories, and then sold the BAF exclusively as "Deluxe figures" Also, the excuse of not paying license fees seems fishy to me, ML have to sell enough to make up for the difference, Hasbro is just greedy or the ML team are phoning it in.
Even though you're not into G.I. Joe, it might be a viable consideration to review this line. They don't make a ton of characters when compared to the Marvel line and at least Hasbro can see that it's possible to make decent figures as opposed to the garbage Marvel line.
