Never been specifically into gi joes so as long as its a cool design I'm happy. Love your reviews, they are always great. On the articulation segment would you consider doing how far the arms get across the chest? I feel it's an important factor on any figure needing to get a weapon in two hands. Thanks again for the vids!
Just got this for 5 dollars at Ollie’s the other day. It’s pretty great for 5 dollars, but for the initial price I don’t know if I would have got it. It really needed forward shoulder motion.
I do agree with the scabbard that it's facing the wrong direction. I just made him a lefty in my Joeverse. Didn't have any problems with putting the sword in the scabbard, too. So do the other guys I know who have this figure. The two knives are a nod to Snake Eyes v3 from '89.
I'd guess that the scabbard is oriented that way *because* he's right-dominant. Even if you're ambidextrous, if you're using a sword and a machine pistol at the same time, you probably want the gun in your strong hand.
I swapped the heads and swords... classified movie.. And THIS is my official SE now.. the others are secondary. This one is a damn good figure. Just needs little tweaks
Fortunately, I have not had the issue getting the sword into the scabbard, and I've just decided to treat him as a lefty. The articulation on the movie figures feels dated because they were either the first or among the first actually built, and were simply delayed because the movie kept getting pushed. The core Classified figures have solved most of these issues.
To answer Anthony's question, I prefer modernized looks instead of straight adaptations of old figures. I find Anthony's review interesting as he reviewed this toy as non GI Joe fan, so without the bias and the hate that this figure has gotten. I have the other Classified Snake Eyes, and I admit that I liked it the least. But Anthony was able to make me reassess it fairly, without all of the baggage about the figure. Thanks!
I like the updates. Would be weird to see 80’s looking figures right out the gate in the line
Great review! I picked up a few of these to army build, can’t go wrong with modern ninja design.
With regards to the sword not fitting in the scabbard, one of mine had a similar issue. When I took a light through the hole, I saw a sliver of excess plastic that prevented the sword from going all the way in. So that guy is permanently displayed with sword in hand, hahaha.
Die hard GI Joe fan, but as a 90s kid, I mostly grew up collecting the more "out there" designs that predominated in that era...not to mention regular repaints and reinterpretations of existing characters. As a result, I'm really open to anything as long as the execution is strong. I loved the new designs we got in the early waves, and I love the retro-inspired updates we're getting now. I'd really prefer to have more of both, so my only complaint is that now that they've shifted towards the retro aesthetic, we will probably not get many truly "new" versions of the characters. Overall though, it's a good time to be a Joe collector, and I am savoring that fact.
I love the aesthetics of this guy. He’s a really cool release and I like the more modern look to him. I’m surprised he was so limited compared to the classic snake eyes release that had a bit better range. Great video!
I got this figure last month and agree with you that its really good. Ive been getting flack from others for buying it but I wouldn't change my decision. Keep collecting and sharing.
Taking the credit makes me feel good hahaha that was funny. Cool review
It would be great if you continued making those videos on explaining articulation as you did the one for the wrists!
This was my first Classified Joe! Found him HEAVILY discounted so pulled the trigger. Was blown away with how great he is in hand! Your review and analysis is spot on for this guy.
A few days after getting him I found a bundle of 7 Classified Joe figures (including the Alpha Commandos pack!) going cheap so took the plunge on that - this figure basically sold me on the line 😅
Where were you able to get him discounted? Everywhere I look he’s full price
@@David-1216 In the UK most online e-tailers had him down to £10 posted. I think Comics & Cocktails and Star Action Figures both had him for about that. eBay sellers too aren't much more than £15 posted at the moment. Again, these are based on UK online prices currently.
Love this fig. I own it, but the other snakes eyes they released is my go to fig.
Cool figure. And I can see a lot of customizers having fun with this guy.
From 1987 to now Snake eyes with very well and Storm Shadow I didn't see any so many different reviews on him but yes Snickers and Storm Shadow the ninjas of g.i. Joe they're just
Interesting point about the scabbard design…you are so perceptive! I would appreciate more paint than just the little bit near the peeper area as well. Excellent review Anthony❣️💯💯. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are taking notes from your reviews and making changes…they would be foolish not to.
I hope you review the whole wave. I love the look of the figures. Im on the fence on the others. I havent seen the movie yet but action figure wise, they look pretty dope
I’ve always liked BOTH classic and modern alternative.
You definitely get the credits for the correct hinges on the hands, hopefully someone in Mattel will watch one of your videos and start implementing as well
"if I back it up, is it fat enough?" -Snake Eyes, probably
Watching this almost year after the release and there's been a few from this movie pegwarming. You are very convincing to finally pick one up 😀
The drop-down hinges really help with getting the legs up. I can get mine up pretty far, beyond 90, almost 100°. I don't have to stress anything to do it either
Just wish he actually wore the suit in the movie lol
Zup Anthony, I’m also not connected to the old GI Joe, and I can certainly appreciate these new figures, side note , first thought was 😯 snake got some backpack bro! 😂🤣, I like this figure, thanks for the video bro!
Great review, Anthony! I just bought him, and some other figures from a friend on Facebook for $12.50 mint in box!
I feel like this would make good star wars customs
This amd Storm Shadow are my first G.I. Joe's I got today. Payed $10.80 for both at Ollie's Bargain Outlet.
as newer fan with zero nistolga i like the first wave updates
love the articulation part that you point out those useless designs and the direction of scabbard...
I want a balance of figures of the original designs & new ones.
Can the spare head be placed on a different Classified figure body or is the ball peg for this figure much larger than the standard classified figure?
Only bought this guy because he's got a great design and looks cool. Will probably turn him into an ODST
I think he has the best Snake eyes body and I use the accessories from the other snake eyes on him. I bought 2 of him cuz hes that fun.
I've been watching Anthony for so long I can guess the final score(after 2min in) with a 90% accuracy. Anyone else? No? Just me?
Also yeah this figure is amazing, so much so I just had to have 7 of them.
Same here. I treat it as a game and see if we have the same rating. In a way, I've somehow used his reviews as my standard when choosing which figures to buy.
I like uptated designs with inspiration on the classic. Not too much futuristic.
I own this action figure
This is from the Snake Eyes origins movie, and I find the new design along with it's asian alter ego awesome. Already had this figure for quite some time now and with or without your positive review, I would still have 'em.
As a long time Joe fan I like the updated designs. Much like Marvel, as long as they keep the similar beats to the original look, go ahead and update stuff. It's what makes it fun.
You didn't do the drop-down hip for going forward, which is where it's actually useful.
it's not needed though. thats the whole point. it's never a good design for hips... at least on humans.
@@AnthonysCustoms I'm afraid I'll have to disagree. Whilst I'm not a fan as they tend to be loose, they are helpful to attain one knee down firing positions with the Joes.
Aren't drop-down hips for front kick motion? They're not supposed to do anything to help the splits I thought
If executed properly they are for both but in reality neither position requires them. It's an obsolete articulation design that was never very good.
I have five of and I will buy more to build an army.
it's a cool sculpt should of gave him 2 uzi's with a shoulder harness for them. the knives made no sense. ( no sheath for them )
2024, just got this figure off amazon for $13 . Today was a good day
My unmasked head sculpt actually looked a lot better than the one in this video. The quality must not be consistent throughout all of them. But the likeness on mine is really good
Just bought this figure for $5 at my local Ollie’s… got it b/c I like this Snake Eyes better than the one in the latest pack with Timber
@AnthonysCustoms what do you think about making a hooded headsculpt for the Classified Cobra Commander? supposedly Hasbro doesn't want to make one and it would probably be a big seller.
yup i'd buy them for all 3 variants. there's a few on ebay right now and they're all trash.
I might. Message me on social media please.
The rumour about Hasbro not wanting hooded Cobra Commanders is just that. A rumour. The Super7 guy made one comment about not being able to make a hooded Coco and people have interpreted that as Hasbro not ever wanting to make them and banning them. It's a rumour. None of this has been verified, nor confirmed.
Nice. An upload not in the middle of the night lol. Bought the Scarlett for $10 on Amazon. Might consider this.
All my uploads are at 3pm est.
@@AnthonysCustoms I'm used to seeing the uploads at 3am EST, guess you changed the timing? Had to dodge all the first comments lol. All good.
Great work as always never noticed that anatomy in the neck and chest until you pointed it out. Have to say I'm impressed with the sculpt, less so the movie but I would watch a sequel if the designs stayed like this. Storm Shadow/Tommy just needs his red logo
Yep. switched the schedule some time ago. Notifications aren't a problem for people this way.
Good review
You deserve the credit for the correct wrist articulation. It’s so satisfying to see and pose these newer figures with the correct wrist articulation.
It suits the hasbro classic storm shadow
Why is the trigger hand thing considered a "mcfarlane thing"?
The only bad thing I noticed about aesthetics is that arms are a little shorter than they should be
They aren't though.
@@AnthonysCustoms Well, in video it seemed that the first part of the thumb knuckle isn't lining up with crotch line, so I thought they're short
have to consider clothing
@@AnthonysCustoms Weird, but I guess that's fine. (Although I don't this he has a baggy pants though)
Quick question for anyone who owns this one. My figure's ankles are kinda loose, so I am having hard time making it stands straight without falling forward. Anybody got the same issue?
Definitely 🙄
One of the things I did was put a couple of drops of some nail polish into the joints and it will get stiff.
@@richamus Oh ok, I will give it a try, good to know I am not the only one.
Anthony only likes this fig cuz he's into cyber punk type ninjas lol nothing wrong with that.
Just seen this figure on sale at local Walmart, was debating on it for a hot minute. Not sure if I still want it but looks nice, lack of paint. For $12.97
For some reason my action figure doesn't have double jointed arm and no double jointed legs and the ankles can't move. And also it's hard to take off the head
Sounds like a different figure
@@AnthonysCustoms Nevermind it was because I just didn't do it hard enough
I grew up watching the Joes, and I personally love the modern looks for both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.
Even the look from Rise of Cobra
If you haven't seen Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, don't bother. Most of the costumes are pretty good but the movie itself sux bad. It was like if Shang Chi were written by an alien who don't understand human.
Damn boi he thiq
Gluteus maximus
L(K. L
Edit thnk u for the l1kes
The movie was mediocre, but that snake eyes is one I display with MCU figures.
1st
I prefer classic looks with some modern touches on these Classified figures. Zartan is an excellent example. I didn't buy any of the movie figures though. Hollywood always trying to fix what's not broken.
The movie versions of most of these ninja G.I. Joe figires pale in comparison to the other "classified" versions. The "Classified" Snake-Eyes & Storm Shadow are so much better looking than their movie equivalents.
I love the wifi symbol on his chest
I'm fine with the designs, this in particular is actually okay, I can't lie. The movie however. Horrendous. Awful. The biggest disappointment for me.
I didn't even know it ever came out until i was doing research for this review.
@@AnthonysCustoms it's best that you keep it that way
Drop down hips are to the 2020's as articulated fingers were to the 2000's. Totally useless.
Literally turned this guy's waist and it broke, how is this Classified quality, I have roughly 20 Classified, all built better than this movie version of Snake Eyes.
Probably just a defect
*Fake Eyes
I love the design but the new movie is trash
