Thank you so much for talking about GI Joe. So many people write it off as a hokey military propaganda toy ad for a wide slew of reasons ranging from the cartoon not aging well to the live action movies (I'm guilty of doing that) the Larry Hama run is quite genuinely one of the best comic series ever written and I hope this video will encourage people to check it out. Like most Gen-Z RAH fans, I gave it a shot based on a recommendation from a friend who is down bad for the Dreadnoks and I'm so glad I did.
Also for people wanting to check it out, iirc Skybound is going to be doing TPBs and omnibi of the Hama GI Joe run sometime in the near future
That is awesome coming from someone younger than me who didn't grow up with GI Joe ARH! For anyone reading this comment, I can't recommend Larry Hama's Joe comics enough - and the great news is - he is still producing them! New issues come out monthly continuing the storyline started in the 1980s and now that they are at Image under Robert Kirkman's Skybound imprint, the books have never looked better! I'm with you - I hope this video inspires a few people to give GI Joe a shot - I promise you will be glad you did!
THANK YOU!!! Even though I didn’t grow up in the 80s I have many fond memories with Snake Eyes, Shipwreck, Duke, Barbecue and many other Joes
That is awesome! Always love adding to people’s knowledge
CS has become one of my favorite Saturday morning YT stops 👍
That is very cool!
I recently got 1/6 scale Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow figures and I love them so much. Honestly those 2 gotta be the most iconic Comic Book Ninjas ever right next to TMNT!
Never was big on GI Joe, didn’t really grow up with it.
BUT you can’t deny how cool Snake Eyes is!
Nope - probably won’t do a Clutch mystery box, but Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are always winners
Snake eyes is also my favorite GI Joe character :D next to cobra commander.
Great call!
Such a good memory. My first comic I actually read and understood was Gi Joe # 52 which really led into Marvel and everything else. I back tracked all the Gi Joe comics except #1. Never owned that. Great video, loved it.
You can pick up a beater copy of issue 1 for not too much…
Back then it wasn't too cheap. Market is always changing lol.
Great vid, V3 was my first Snake Eyes as a kid but V2 will always be my favorite.
Nice! I’m a V1 guy, but V2 is undeniably the coolest
There's a Snake Eyes 6-in model kit at Ollie's for like $15. After watching this, I think you've inspired me to finally pull the trigger on it. He's such an awesome design for a character. And no painting necessary 😂
Looking forward to seeing the finished product - I realized on rewatching this just how much Snake Eyes history is left out!
Would love to see a Smallville mystery box, if you have any of them lying around.... 😁 Another great video Carbon!
Interesting suggestion
@@CarbonScoring Currently going through the show for the first time, would love to see what merch they had going at that point and hear your thoughts!
Another great video. This was absolutely incredible your passion for snake eyes really showed thru!!
Glad you enjoyed it! I do love this character
Thanks for the video! Great collection of SE figures!
Thanks for watching!
My first silent issue was the Ultimate Spider-Man silent issue and I thought THAT was an error too lol
Nice!
I love snake eyes because he just seems to badass
Oh, he is badass alright!
I always thought he was a blind ninja
Nope!
Like these mystery/character collection vieeos 😁👍🏻
Thanks - I really love putting them together!
I love GI joe, snake eyes is my favourite too. Mezco is killing it with there figures ditko spiderman, green goblin, the batman and now this super cool. Love your videos man 👍
I really appreciate that and thanks for watching a Joe Video - I would love to do more GI Joe content!
@@CarbonScoring that's great i would love to see more. about the spiderman giveaway, are you waiting longer? has someone else won? i don't mean to bother and i don't mind if it is the former or the latter i was just wondering. I was very excited when i saw that i may have a chance to win.
I NEED a cobra commander mystery box!
Now THAT would be fun!
Omg I had a GI joe that came in the little case thing, I forget his name but he was blonde and had a winter blizzard outfit with a ski mash type thing on
I bet it was another of those Sigma Six figures
@@CarbonScoring oh definitely! looking at them now (online) I remember having the black and white snake eyes to, he's also my favorite
@@CarbonScoring this channel has unlocked such nostalgia for me - I have a love hate relationship with it tho because it makes me want to look for them but I don't think I have them anymore 😂
My favorite character in GI Joe
Mine too, but don't tell Clutch...
Im surprised to see u didnt have any of the movie versions of snake eyes, unless i missed them. As bad as the movies are his character design is translated well enough that they could pass off as being comic based
I think one of the 3 3/4 figure was movie, but I didn’t pick up the 6 inch
Nice figures 👍
Glad you like them!
You don't have the old man on the sled that super 7 made.
C'mon, you know I have that! I just didn't put it in the box! Anybody interested in a box of Super7 GI Joe ReAction figures???
@CarbonScoring hell yeah! You giving them away?
good video carbon
Glad you enjoyed
Good video man
Appreciate it
Love GI Joe can you do transformers next
I’m thinking about it…
I think the live-action standalone Snake Eyes movie should've stayed closed to his original origin from the comics. Too bad the movie failed terribly because it changed who the character is and went off the rail with the story. It was a total mess. To us real fans of the character and the G.I. Joe brand, that was not Snake Eyes. Other than, the more recent figs of the character from various companies has been stellar. Of course the old 3 3/4" figs will always hold something special in the hearts of collectors like us.
Thomas - you are a man of my own heart! I can’t speak to the movies because I refused to watch them, but I am certain you are right - everything you said was spot on!
Giv me one
I love ninjas!
Better hope they love you back...
