Something I learned from an old man a long time ago if a flounder bites it and runs right away it means there's more flounder right in that area so cast right back where you caught the first It's usually the small ones stealing it from the big ones and running great video
Aloha Kagen Da Flounder Pounder! Wish we had decent flounders here in Hawai'i. They're called "Pākiʻi" (paa-kee-ʻee) and they rarely get over a pound though the State record is 4.5 pounds. They are rarely targeted but a surf fishing by-catch usually C&Rʻd. More Solo Skiff content please.
Loving these videos, and on this video you did mention water temp, but I plan on doing a bit more fishing, but was wondering on these videos, if you could provide more info about water temp / depth / type of water (salt? brackish? fresh? etc?) more info the better. give us some good views of the lures / and always love to see a good view of those fish ... AWESOME VIDEOS, can't wait to see what you are gonna bring us as the spring and summer come...
My Looney Bin, I fish primarily saltwater and the depths I fish depends on patterns I see with weather and water temp. The depths in this video ranged from 1ft to 13ft water temp 65
@@KagenFishing hey I let everybody know with your saltwater fishing license you're allowed like six crab traps I used to always throw one out before I go fishing so if I didn't catch any fish I would normally have blue crabs for dinner I would normally use the spare parts from the fish I would catch the head in the guts and parts for baits for the Crab Trap I'll just throw it in a ziplock bag and roll it up and freeze it and when I go out I just throw it in the Trap and throw it out a little ways before I go fishing it always seemed to turn a bad day fishing into a good dinner just make sure you read the laws before you go throw them out in any certain area you don't want to get in trouble. The laws are in Texas Parks and Wildlife outdoor annual and the app is OutdoorAnnual.com/app tight lines
Good vid and good day on the water. Only been back there once but I like the lake. Been wanting to try again. What time of year are you most successful there?
Alittle advice buddy boy, if you have a flounder suck on your bait and not feel the hooks 99% of the time the same fish is just sitting there waiting for you to throw that shit right back in his face, be persistent with those flatties !
Fluke...these are flukes. I don't know why but it really bothers me when people call them "flounders" yes they're 'technically' a flounder but still...all flukes are flounders but not all flounders are flukes. Summer Flounder AKA FLUKE. Flukes have teeth and eyes on the LEFT side of their bodies...Flounder have NO TEETH and eyes on the right side of their bodies.

Nice videos, just subscribed. I need a Hobbie so bad
Awesome video can’t wait to move back to Houston so I can go fishing every weekend to Galveston lol and what type of kayak is that ?
It’s a hobie outback. Not cheap but I can cover miles and miles against wind and current without being exhausted. I truly enjoy fishing out of it.
Great video!
