I agree. Leonard was just too fast and too powerful for Pryor in my view. Having said that Pryor was a favourite of mine.. Never a dull moment with him and yes I am aware of the "Bottle" incident.
Pryor was a great fighter but I don't see him beating Leonard at 147, or Duran at 135, or 147. He was unique in many ways but also reckless and left himself open, something that the fighters I have mentioned would have known how to take advantage of with devasting effect.

You are kidding yourself it you thought Pryor was the only fighter that used drugs, especially from that time, when cocaine was everywhere, Leonard, and Duran were well known to use cocaine and Leonard developed a serious cocaine problem, Duran frequently used cocaine to lose weight, quickly.
Good call by you Russell. Strange clash of their bodies but it doesn’t appear that any punch landed and even the “shoulder punch” didn’t look that powerful!

Pryor's skills had been in serious decline since his fight with Nicky Furlano in 1984. In this fight he was addicted to crack and blind in one eye. Pryor had enormous natural talent, but never truly reached his peak as a fighter because his personality was too unstable, volatile, and lacking in discipline.
He was a great fighter he proved he was exceptional even as an amateur, showing little or no signs of any drug abuse. There are obviously questions hanging over his first fight with Arguello and who knows from then on. It is evident though that drugs were ultimately his downfall. We loved to watch him though.

With respect I don't think Bobby Joe Young would have Pryor worried at all.. In Pryor's mind it was just a first warm up fight of his comeback.
