Lyrics:
Friday night I crashed your party
Saturday I said, "I'm sorry"
Sunday came and trashed me out again
I was only having fun
Wasn't hurting anyone
And we all enjoyed the weekend for a change
I've been stranded in the combat zone
I walked through Bedford Stuy alone
Even rode my motorcycle in the rain
And you told me not to drive
But I made it home alive
So you said that only proves that I'm insane
You may be right
I may be crazy
Oh, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for
Turn out the light
Don't try to save me
You may be wrong for all I know
But you may be right
Well, remember how I found you there
Alone in your electric chair
I told you dirty jokes until you smiled
You were lonely for a man
I said, "Take me as I am"
'Cause you might enjoy some madness for a while
Now think of all the years you tried to
Find someone to satisfy you
I might be as crazy as you say
If I'm crazy then it's true
That it's all because of you
And you wouldn't want me any other way
You may be right
I may be crazy
Oh, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for
It's too late to fight
It's too late to change me
You may be wrong for all I know
But you may be right
You may be right
I may be crazy
Hey, but It just may be a lunatic you're looking for
Turn out the light
Oh, don't try to save me
You may be wrong for all I know
You may be right
You may be wrong but you may be right
You may be wrong but you may be right
You may be wrong but you may be right
You may be wrong but you may be right
You may be wrong but you may be right
You may be wrong but you may be right
You may be wrong but you may be right
You may be wrong but you may be right
My old boss said this was the first album he ever bought. He gifted me his copy when I said I had never heard it. Ended up loving every second. RIP Patrick, you had amazing taste in music.

My older son loved this album. He was four and he would say, "Play crash your party, Daddy!" That was thirty-eight years ago. Great memories.
I used to always play this song on cassette in my very first car back in the late 80's that was in my high school years
That was me too. Dad loved this song. I'm 42 now. Still love Billy Joel...Michael Keaton's musically inclined twin brother.
Man I miss the 80s.
Holy crap! It just doesn't seem that long ago.
Your last name is mars? That's awesome
Is your son now bruno mars

Me 2 friend
My uncle used to haul exotic cars around the country for rich people. Billy Joel was a consistent customer of his and he says this guy's super nice. Also he has a bunch of houses all over the world and he pays people to live there and keep it clean. Gives them a call like "hey I'll be there Saturday if you can fill up the red Ferrari for me" and stuff like that 🤣 what a G
What a legend 😂
@@ticket2space621 How do you apply to be one of the people to live in one of his houses?
This was the very first album I ever bought with money I made on my own. I was so proud to be able to purchase it without anyone’s help. And what a perfect album to declare my independence with. It was everything a country celebrating its Bicentennial independence could hope for. Rebellious, loud music! Once again, for you younger kids out there. While this is a great song. Listen to the entire album. It tells the story of Billy’s life at that moment in time. Each song paints a different picture. But the pictures are part of the bigger world. These are albums that make more sense when you slow down and really let them penetrate into your head. It can be fun background filler music. But check the lyrics. Let them talk to you. There’s a lot there to absorb. Billy is a poet, a story teller and a profit. His sings truth. And the older you get, the more true the songs become. It’s really wild. As you get older, take the time to re-listen and then reflect. It’s going to blow you away at how many times Billy will predict your future. And it never hits you as it’s happening, but shows up in the rear view mirror… out of the blue, the connection will suddenly hit.
You’ll see! 😂
My 13 year old son love this. Billy Joel music goes full circle and will create loops for the next generation to come 🎶
My daughter has been in love with all of your music since she was a little girl. She's only 19. Timeless yet always current. By far my favorite performer

"I walked through Bedford Stuy alone" - that's supposed to be one of the stupid and crazy things he does to impress a woman. Why? Because it's a black neighborhood? RACISM!
❤😂🎉
Put this classic on at a neighbours party. Everyone loved it. Nuff said.
I was OBSESSED with Billy Joel when i was a little kid, and my uncle, who was a HUGE fan, helped me write him a letter in 1980 or whenever this album came out.
He wrote back!
It was a signed form-ish letter, but the posters and lil things were AMAZING. SO EXCITING for little me!

I remember singing this song at the top of my lungs, with huge headphones in my ears, reading the lyrics that came on the LP... 42 years ago and I still get emotional, thanks for such good music!
Music in the past used baht coins in the cabinet to listen.
My head between my two speakers were my headphones, but same thing! Our Generation was blessed with great music.
RIP to my sister…she lit this song up on Karaoke. I have always been a huge fan of Billy Joel…but now, his music will just help me cope with this unexpected and sudden loss.
So sorry for your loss. Music helps with grief in so many ways.
Sorry for your loss, I lost my daughter 14 years ago and music is my therapy, there's some songs I can't listen to anymore cause her dad passed away suddenly in October 2022, we both grew up in 70s, and we're so much in love, so I hope one day I can listen to Dr Hook again, but right now, I just can't
Prayers for God to bring you some peace and ease your heart🫶✌️🤱
Cool
This song closed out the Grammy Awards this year from Billy himself.
Saw Billy Joel in concert Seattle, WA June 2024! Outstanding!!!
My Mum had this album......I listened to it up to my teens when I was sent away. I love it :}
✌👊👊❤
Mannnnn, the good old days of growing up. This song came out when I was only 11. I'm 52 now and still love Billy Joel.❤️
It came out right before I turned 16, and right before I got married, actually married when I was 15 and half😱 best music ever the 70s era, so glad I got to grow up in those days🫶✌️🙏

@@hauntedbottles those were the days, things were so much easier, we were poor, but hell we didn't know it, you could go down one of these back roads where I still live, pull over, turn the music up, sit on the tail gate and smoke one of drink a beer, we never got in trouble, and we never hurt one, those were the days🥹✌️
When he released this album March 10th 1980 , I was totally blown away ..Still one of my favorites today! Rock on Billy!

It's near the end of 2021. My 7.5 year old son just heard this on the radio and it's his new favorite song. Thanks dad for passing it on so I could pass it on.
I'm 16 and listening to this Album, this song is one of my favorites.
i'm also 16 and my father played this song in the car before he did drugs,i still have good memories of him
I remember borrowing this album from the local mini library and recording it from my dad's hi-fi to my boom box. Oh the halcyon days of analog "music sharing".
Billy Joel, You a one of the most beloved musicians, Thank you!
My therapist recommended me this album. And I'm not mad about it, it's great
Great track and album
...Classic...
I grew up on Billy Joel, but didn’t truly appreciate him until I was a college student in the mid 90s. When my buddies and I got together to party, it was Billy Joel’s greatest hits that we would put on the stereo. Everyone would sing and dance. Good times.
This song usually got played at some point while out partying, and at that time was always the right time for it !
Always the right time
LEGEND 👌
I dedicate this song to my uncle that passed away we really enjoyed listening this song. 😊 this song goes for you....
To you May Be Right....
Peaceful Rest to my favourite guitarist to ever play in Billy Joel's band, David Brown. David played with Billy from the late 70s on through the 1980s, and is probably most remembered, sonically, for his guitar work on my all-time favourite LP, 1980's Glass Houses, and the solo on this song in particular. A really fun musician, and super nice guy. Really good-looking, too, with that long blonde hair. He will be greatly missed.
I'm convinced Billy Joel is actually a painter, as all of his music makes a masterpiece
71 years young,, still playing , and singing....
🤝🏽
Hell yeah, hope you're still alive
I got here because my very dear uncle died today. I remember spending a long weekend with he and my aunt and when he was driving me back to my mum he played this album in his car. I was 14 and bought the album a couple of days later.
This man is an absolute legend the current generation could learn so much from his genius
Have any of you ever said “man, I wish I could listen to Billy Joel again for the first time”?
Well, I’m 26 and just started listening to him. And yes, it is magical.
I second this at 21!!
This is life changing 👌👌🤩

You May Be Right
AFTER HEARING WHAT YOU DID ON “ YOU MAY BE RIGHT”, I MUST DOWNLOAD THE REGULAR CUT FROM 1980. That’s one hot Rockin’ tune, Sir.
Kenneth Huang. 2/5/24.
The reason people talk about those dying is cause the spirit in this music has died except for those of us that are left with the spirit left behind form the past of those who knew what life was about. And thats what keeps life alive. People need to keep the love and simplicity alive but.... that's why we have folks like u asking why?
Whats even more remarkable is that Joel still sounds killer singing it!
This one might be pure rock and roll, but Billy is much more than just a rock musician. He borrows from many genres. He's pure New York. The patrons of the Long Island bar were right on that Saturday night long ago when they wondered "man, what are you doing here?"
At the age of 10 my daughter knew every word on this album, and a couple other Billy Joel albums. I used Billy Joel to teach her that an album is full of great songs, but you'll never know if you don't listen to the whole album.
These days I've heard her singing Billy Joel songs with her children.
Of course my son knows this song. Try to find talent this timeless these days. Not saying it isn't there, it's just unique, and Billy has so many great songs from his old days.
Billy Joel, and his music, "came into my life" because my HS music teacher allowed us to share our favored music with the rest of the class.....I REMEMBER the very KIND girl that brought his music to my limited attention, the class, how I felt when I FIRST heard him, but CAN'T REMEMBER MY GD PHONE NUMBER!!!!!!!!🙄 BUT, I'VE ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT.....I NEVER FORGET A KINDNESS.....NOR A GD UNKINDNESS EITHER!!!!!!!!
Billy Joel was way ahead of his time in his music. So great as always. Glad I grew up listening to this kind of music as a kid early 90’s. 🔥
I can thank my dad for introducing this to me. Especially Billy Joel's work before the 90s.

Just saw him at soldier field (2024) and this was the last song he played in his 3 song encore. I’m 23 now and first heard this song when I was like 8. Now more than ever this song is my fucking anthem! Never felt a piece of media speak to me more than this song
This is the only album my dad had that I liked. RIP Dad
Al día de hoy tengo 57 años conozco esta canción desde los 80's y me sigue emocionando
I'm 15 and this song is my life. I love Billy Joel with my heart and soul. ♥️
Love the sound of breaking glass. My friend got this album when I was in the seventh grade. Billy Joel is an American icon. So good.
I remember scenes from an Italian restaurant. " And they started to fight when the money got tight" my older sister Betty had that album. One with you n boxing gloves. She died of brain cancer few weeks back. I remember riding round in her 1974 MAVERICK ,and listening to that late 70s music.
Grew up listening to his music only stands to reason my kids are being raised listening to it too
Shout out to all the parents that introduced this to their kids. RIP Dad.
My dad introduced Billy Joel to me and my 4 year old daughter loves him too so I just got her Billy Joel greatest hits volumes 1 and 2.
Yes let’s respect your dad and all the awesome dads who introduced this magic for our ears

I confess that I actually have to credit radio airplay on why I became receptive to enjoying this candid and memorable song by Billy Joel, around the 2012/2013 timeframe one of the local radio stations I was listening to during that timeframe played this song a healthy amount of times.
From the opening riff of smashing glass to the fading end this song is like a floor-boarded Ferrari. Love Joel’s strong vocals and the too short sax solo, this song is superb.
I ❤this still. Will never transform tp todays cultures. I was born feb 24 1970. I stand firm on this !👍✌
Billy if you're reading this when I was a little girl my dad brought home the glass houses album and I fell in love with the whole album especially you may be right the first track years later I still sing this song even with my nephews and nieces around the summertime we try to drive my mom crazy by doing the middle part of the song and my dad yells keep going guys
I love this song, generally I used to hear sad songs but this is one of the songs that bring joy to my life
This guy is a genius. I listened to him a lot when I was working on shearing teams in the Western Australian Wheatbelt.
I wasn't a big Billy Joel fan when this came out. But being older I love it. I may be crazy. You may be right!
Im am 13 and I am gald to say my dad played theses kind of songs when I was a kid.
Yo escuchaba esta canción cuando tenía 8 años por qué mi hermano el Mayor la escuchaba a todo volumen, ahora el tiene 65 años y yo 50 y la seguimos escuchando 😀👌🏾
This is my one of my many favourite Billy Joel songs I don’t think I could ever pick a favourite there’s just far too many sensational songs to chose from.
You really forget how many good songs this guy made and until you hear them again
You got that right!
too many to list really.
I was born in 75. I remember discovering this soundtrack in my late teens & learning every song.
My mom introduced me to this when I was a kid. I still remember listening to the album in the old family caravan.
When I was 7 years old, the summer between 1nd & 2rd grade. Both of my older sisters boyfriends, Dale Olweiler & Bob Lovell were in a rock & roll band called ARISE. At a night club called "the Pink Panther lounge" in Garrett county MD, on Deep Creek lake, they took me up on stage and had me sing this song to a Packed house! It was my favorite record and 8 track and they all (the band) got a kick out of me knowing every single word of it. So they made me a Rock Star.
Possibly the greatest memory of my childhood.
