Thank you for Walletopia the Best reviews. I found the Mitchell Leather Co and the MCW Wallet thanks to you. They have been in buisiness over 30 years and they make some of the finest Leather products. The MCW is the finest wallet their is. I will keep watching I am a subscriber and you are the best reviewer. The best to you and yours.
This is actually my favorite wallet that I've ever tried. I've been carrying it for over a year now. I love the small form factor and ease of use. Other designs still intrigue me but I think this one strikes an almost perfect balance. Sometimes I wish it had a thumb hole to push cards up but not sure if that would actually work.
@@keithgreen5177 agree it's a great wallet and I actually got that one first. I just like the slightly smaller form factor of the Hitchhiker. I've actually been using the Tauruscamp Base Wallet and have really been enjoying that. More organization than both yet somehow feels a bit thinner.
I have been subbed and have loved your channel for a while. I have had a few of these wallets for a while and I love them. I am glad you discovered them, reviewed and quite liked them.
It really bothers me how many 'leatherworkers' have copied this design (exactly) and are trying to sell theirs as original. I have seen at least 2 different videos using this design. I have given up pointing it out in the comments. Doesn't seem to have made any difference. Thanks Mark!
I have one and I love it. Switched from a zero foxtrot wallet. They are well made with quality leather, the only con is like mentioned folded bills stick out the side about a 1/4 inch. I wish it was just a tad wider but its not a deal breaker. I see most people dont get the lanyard, its EDC gear, we like lanyard lol. U can take it off and hook a chain to it or whatever u want. That being said there are probably 10 different makers doing this exact design if its too hard for you to buy or you want one cheaper. I guess leatherwork isnt the same as other crafts where IP theft is a thing 🤷♂️
I tried to get this wallet many times and is just stupid how limited is their offering. They are gone in 1 minute. Also, it was until I read a comment in a post from RH that I noticed that bills do not fit properly and it just made me look away CAUSE they don't show this in their wallet pictures.
I agree. Horrible marketing strategy. If people want something they want it now. Especially a simple thing like a silly wallet. Not like you're waiting on a Ferrari. I would never buy this simply because of that
You are just used to big companies that churn out as much as they can. It’s just a couple people and he makes as many as he can in a week and then puts them up for sale on Tuesday’s. Once they are gone he starts over and makes as many as he can. What else is he supposed to do? I do agree with you about the dollar bill thing though.
@@turnbasedtoddy7664 The Lost Dutchman is one single guy and he has way more designs to choose from so is not an excuse to have a couple of people. Open Sea Leather was the owner for years until he had to seek for help and train them, still, not a big company and less than 5 with a big demand. The Lost Dutchman is actually moving to a different place and every order will have a delay, yet he will be able to keep his offer and demand.

LOL. I don't see how anyone's marketing strategy is cause for all this vitriol hate. You sound extremely bitter and embroiled in some sort of comedic crusade against this small independent store. How many times are you going to post the exact same comment on the same wallet review? Get a life dude. First world problems. If you can't secure one at the time of drop, then just move on. It'll be better for your mental health, and free you of these vexations. If this is a problem, then it's the least of your problems. There's no need to be this resentful. Fyi, I just managed to pick up the New Years Champagne Edition, 2 days before the drop. And this is me finding out about the company 2 days before, on my FIRST TRY. So there's clearly a certain formula to securing these things, if you even bothered to change things up you would highly optimize your chances of getting one because clearly whatever it is that you're trying to do at the time of the drop, you're doing it wrong. I avoid black wallets so much that is an insta no buy in that color, no matter how much I like the design. I rather buy an orange, green or yellow wallet than black.
Does anyone know of a Wallet like this where the cash slot at the back isn’t fully open? Even if the bottom of the back had the bottom inch sewn up would keep me happy. I just worry about stuff falling out.
This would avoid the awful stretching of leather wallets I presume the clasp would stop loose cards from falling out so you can out how many cards you want and stay to the have to keep same amount all the time
Nice wallet design, but would never buy it for backpacking/hiking due to it being black. Need a bright color. The paracord should be replaced with a AirTag keychain. Love the family business aspect but with the lack of features/color choice seems a bit overpriced for me.
I took an eagle creek silk bra stash as a wallet when I cycled from Canada to Argentina. It's a black silk pouch the size of a credit card. Easy to conceal on yourself, never had an issue losing it, camped most of the way. I still use one day to day, never lost it.
I have no contest with the profitability on punching a single piece of leather, folding it, stitching the bottom and attaching hardware. My contention is that such products simply lack artistry. I suppose this is what's meant by 'minimalist.' But from a craft validation perspective,...it seems lacking. What are we actually looking at? Four component parts and an hour's work for $65. ~shrugs. Personally I'd rather hand cut, hand dye, hand burnish, hand assemble and hand stitch a wallet with twelve components then charge $250-$350. Why? Because there's a difference between crafting for profit and crafting for artistry, ..then being compensated for it. Enjoying the channel Keep up the good content. 🍺👍

@@pepleatherlab3872 But what is your contention with the price? It’s not just about how many pieces that are used or how long it took. It’s a business.
