    I miss my hairdresser (deceased). He was great at applying my relaxer. This was his method. I’ve been applying my own retouches since 2012. I’m getting older and it’s beginning to be so tiresome.

      Hi there, I’m so sorry to hear about your hairdresser (my condolences). I’m sure you really do miss him. But try to find a good stylist who will care for your hair just like he would. All the best.

      @@haircareataglanceThanks for your response. It’s been impossible for me to find a quality hairdresser in my area. I will have to travel 100 miles or more. It’s really bad. I’ll probably start processing the back…rinse, and then do the front. My arms get so tired.

    I love your relaxer process. I wish all hair stylist can be like you. Im having issues getting someone to relax my hair this way.
    Is there a specific reason why you used a roller set before straightening it out?

    • @haircareataglance
      @haircareataglance  Год назад +5

      Hey you, thank you. Roller set is very good for relaxed hair as the hair drys under a hooded dryer with indirect heat instead of blow drying which is direct heat which can cause heat damage overtime. So roller setting is always the best way to dry relaxed hair.

      I also like the outcome of the roller set. It feels airy and allows you hair to have more bounce

    • @haircareataglance

      I based only the hair line. Simply because her scalp is not sensitive.

    • @stf8369
      @stf8369 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@haircareataglance My hair dresser has an applicator bottle with a liquid that she applies all the scalp to protect it from burning caused by the relaxer.

    Did she base the hair

    • @haircareataglance
      @haircareataglance  9 месяцев назад

      I base only her hair line. I only base clients with sensitive scalp. But if you usually base every client continue to do, not everyone applies relaxers as fast as I do so I encourage basing the entire scalp. However this Channel is about show you all how I work in the salon so if ever I’m doing a relaxer video on a sensitive scalp client you see me base her entire scalp. Thanks for your question.

    Hi' what if you hole head , is virgin hair how long the time.

    • @haircareataglance
      @haircareataglance  Год назад +1

      Hey dear, very good question. All relaxers should have instructions as to how long the product should stay on the hair so it is always best to read carefully and follow manufacturer’s guide. However I use 4 different types of relaxers and the time on them is approximately 15-20 minutes (clock starts the moment you start applying. So if your relaxing Virgin hair it’s best to apply the back half then rinse and then go to the top half. All the best !

    Please nobody beat me up… what was the point in the roller set just to blow dry and flat iron her hair out???

    • @haircareataglance
      @haircareataglance  4 месяца назад +1

      Very good question Reina. When you roller set your hair and your hair drys after removing the rollers you will be left with part marks from where the rollers were placed which allows your roots to look puffy. In some cases I would go in with medium heat on my dryer to remove the roller marks, in other cases I’ll just brush, wrap comb down. As for the flat iron part of it, it all depends on preferences, and this client like the finish she gets from the flat iron. I do too. However, Once your hair is properly dried you won’t need flat iron unless you prefer it.
      What do you prefer?

    so i was watching this in the background with the sound off, but i wanted to ask. How long did each section take?

    • @haircareataglance
      @haircareataglance  11 месяцев назад +4

      Hey dear. Very good question. For the first application the two back sections took about 2mins each then the two front sections took about 3 minutes each, a little longer than that and of the back because at the hairline it’s best to take extra precautions to not get it on the ends of the hair that is already processed. Now for the second application when I go closer to the root, that took approximately 5mins for all 4 sections. Thanks for your question. ❤️Shaniece.

    • @haircareataglance
      @haircareataglance  11 месяцев назад +2

      @iv3y_Lamar so if you’re able to work that fast you will have enough room to cross check your work. If not it’s ok just be careful not to get too much relaxer on the scalp or on the relaxed ends and you will be fine. And try not to go over 20mins without rinsing. Also if your slower feel free to do the back section, rinse then proceed to the top half .

    • @Iv3y_Lamar

      @@haircareataglance it’s a chemical process. It will relax on its own timing. Combing can cause breakage. Once it is completely applied, let it process according to the texture.
