I really loved getting relaxers. It was literally the only thing that grew my hair out. I know it sounds crazy but I’m so serious. I’ve been natural for about 8 months now and my hair isn’t getting NO WHERE. so I put braids in it and told myself if I don’t get any growth I’m just going to go back to my usual method of relaxing my hair and getting it to grow. And plus the thick hair is just toooo much to deal with its driving me CRAZYYYY
Sounds like during your 8 month journey you were having length retention issues, wether it be lack of trims, in-adequate moisture or mishandling of the hair, diet, etc. Relaxers are fine but even with one proper hair care is still needed. Hopefully you visit your stylist for maintenance.

Hey T! A good way to see the back of your head instead using 2 mirrors. Use a smart tv, prop your phone/iPad on a ring light/trip pod, then turn on screen mirroring. You’ll be able to zoom in and out and at your convince. If you want to use your filming camera for RUclips then just do the same procedure using an HDMI CORD instead of screen mirroring.
I love and enjoy watching you do your hair. I purposely find your videos on RUclips and watch them for hours. I love how you take care of your hair, even with a relaxer. 💕💯
I’ve been getting a relaxer from a stylist and I’ve been thinking of doing it myself to save some money. And so I can be a little more gentle with my own hair. I think you’ve convinced me I can do it myself 😁🥰 Your hair turned out perfect.
I started doing it myself in 2020. I had never done my own hair. Now I'm a pro! And my hair is THOUSAND TIMES healthier, longer, fuller and I NEVER burn my own head. I love it here. Once you get over the fear you will do great!!
In the past, I would do my own relaxer only when my hair was short. But for the last 5-6 years, I think I went to a stylist maybe 3-4 times, and not at all for the last 3. It’s simple. And yes, if you have long hair (mine is mid back) twisting it first makes it easier. Ironically, I tried it before I saw Hairlicious’ video. It’s much faster. Also, getting a relaxer where you don’t have to mix the products is easier. Even when I do a touch up, I need more than a tub. My hair grows fast. And it’s thicker in consistency, so I find it easier to apply. And get your towel, shampoo, etc. all that stuff ready ahead of time. 😉 You can do it. As I live in Western Canada, we don’t have lots of Black hair salons, so prices, even for relaxers, are quite pricey in most places. I can do it for $10 at home! And as I have to do it often, going to the salon all the time isn’t an option. If your hair is long, you can ask someone to help you out as sometimes it’s hard in the back, especially the first few times as you’re not used to do it and not as fast. Good luck.
LOVE THE SIDE PART!!!! It looks good on you!! And honey I don't miss getting relaxers at all...I've been natural for almost 5 years. Having thick coarse hair is a struggle 🥴🥴🥴🥴 but I'm loving it!
Honestly and I love my curls and curly girls period but I’m kinda happy to see this coming back … I’m also so scared to change or do anything with my hair cause I’m to scared to change curl pattern or damage.
Tierra watching this makes me want to go to the beauty supply, your hair looks Good!!! Janay mickles says the mizani moisture fusion mask is good also.
Oooo weeee Lil Miss Tierra you made my day. I haven't had a perm in decades but I don't have the length that I should because I do not take care of it. I wear wigs and I do not shampoo and condition like I should because of arthritis in my shoulders. That is also why I didn't get into the natural hairstyles. But the last time I was perming I was also coloring and it was too much. But now I am pretty much grey all over and I would love to have the Mazani look on my gray without dealing with 4C hair. Your hair looked good after you cut and styled are you a professional stylist. I couldn't do all that what you did. But even if I have to go to a stylist I think I'm trying Mazani Butter. Thanks Tierraj
Just wear a straight wig when u get bored. Im also natural. I made a mistake years ago and relaxed my hair and it fell out because I didnt take care of it. I had to cut off everything and started my natural journey again. When I want a break from my natural hair, I wear sew ins and wigs.
@@onison79 The key is "taking care of it." Natural hair is a lot of work and requires a lot of time and patience. Prior to being natural, I relaxed my hair for over fourteen years. Just like my natural hair, it was healthy and grew as long as I was under minimum stress and properly caring for my hair.
@@hairhealthfashion9737 dont be discouraged by other peoples problems with THEIR hair. It's okay if you accidentally damage your hair, you can always try again later when you know more about your hair. The problem is not relaxers or heat or dye, it's just that these in the wrong hands can do damage, and not to parrot myself, but that is okay cut it off try again later or put more dye. Experiment and do lots with your hair, what are they going to do, cry about it?

I applaud you for even trying to go natural! I personally get overwhelmed with all the time ppl seem to spend on their hair; I don’t have that kind of time. Especially I work in tv & film…lately daily, sometimes 16-hour days, so no thank you. I relax and color my 4C hair and it’s mid-back. Love me some white crack!
The cut looks professionally done, like you went in and got it cut. The finished product looks like a cut I used to rock back in middle school when I was relaxed. I used to look getting my hair bone straight and then rocking a bumbed bang. But the relaxers were never for me because the humidity got me as soon as I went outside, even with a fresh relaxer. Went natural in 2009 and big chopped in 2010.

I was about to subscribe but it turns out I was already subscribed. Girl where you been because you keep me laughing. Haven't had a relaxer in like 8 years but you pressing me right now. Your hair looks so good.
Great advice. 🤗
I’m gonna have to try that for this very overdue retwist I’m needing 😂 thanks!
@@ninabeena83 I just screenshotted it so I can use it to do my looooong over due retwist UR A GENIUS GIRL! 🥰🤣
Excellent advice
I love and enjoy watching you do your hair. I purposely find your videos on RUclips and watch them for hours. I love how you take care of your hair, even with a relaxer. 💕💯
I’ve been getting a relaxer from a stylist and I’ve been thinking of doing it myself to save some money. And so I can be a little more gentle with my own hair. I think you’ve convinced me I can do it myself 😁🥰 Your hair turned out perfect.
Yes girl u can do it. Also hairlicous relaxer day video is a life saver. You should watch it to help guide u too
@@BellaandJake1 Will do! Thank you
@@creciascott253 no problem :)
You can do it.
Good luck.
I never seen a woman so scissor happy on her own hair 😩 but turned out so beautiful 🙌🏿
Jesus is your free gift to heaven when you believe in his death, burial and resurrection you are immediately saved.
It’s just hair, it’ll grow back.
Girlllllllllllllll I am going to try that relaxer line. Your hair looks so straight and soft. Your hair really grew!!!!!
I love it! And love you!
Love how easily you cut your hair 💇♀️ without much hesitation.
LOVE THE SIDE PART!!!! It looks good on you!! And honey I don't miss getting relaxers at all...I've been natural for almost 5 years. Having thick coarse hair is a struggle 🥴🥴🥴🥴 but I'm loving it!
I love the new style and side bang! Love to watch u slay your hair! I’m glad you still have your channel 🤗💕
I love the Mizani Butter Blend line.. When I was relaxed, this was my go to.. Will be again if I choose to relax again..
Honestly and I love my curls and curly girls period but I’m kinda happy to see this coming back … I’m also so scared to change or do anything with my hair cause I’m to scared to change curl pattern or damage.
And it’s high maintenance having curly hair ..
I love how you cut and styled it. You look more mature. 😍 It's, another day another slay with Tierra J, for me! 💁🏾♀️
EXCELLENT JOB ON EVERYTHING. You got it going on and on girl. Great vid.
Tierra watching this makes me want to go to the beauty supply, your hair looks Good!!! Janay mickles says the mizani moisture fusion mask is good also.
THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF TRUST THE PROCESS 🔥🔥🔥
YOU DID THAT MISS LADY 💚💚💚💚
I want one soooo bad! 😫
Fayeee don't tell me that cause I'ma be the one in the crowd like "DO IT, DO IT, DO ITTT!" 😂😂😂
I feel you sis 😫 I'm about to go back
I swear I am!!! 💃🏾
Right
Fayyyyyyeeeeee no ma’am
I actually love the style you did! You really can pull any look off! 😍🤎
Love it I’m natural but definitely looking forward to cutting my hair into a bob cut!!!!! It’s cute boo!!!!
You did that!! I'm natural and have been seriously thinking about going back to a relaxer. You make it look easy and effortless!
Been watching you for years! You have changed so much. Love you, praying for your family.
Loving the cut and the bang. Tierra let me find out you can sing. You should sing more. "Victoryyyyyy, thats my nameeeeee. I know who I'am"
Them vocals are definitely GIVING!
Def the reason why I’m not afraid to cut it off, the results never lie!
It’s cute, the side part looks better, you cute so any style will work!!! I even liked it without the bump/curl!!! You did a great job to me and I can’t wait to grow some hair because I’m going to definitely re-watch this video and do everything you did step-by-step!!! Go Girl…👌👍👊
Where have you been my whole RUclips life. Your whole personality and hair voice everything just bomb😘
Girl u are just glowing!! Summer has treated ur skin so nice! And yassss vocals🤩🔥. It turned out pretty, its good to switch up the parting 👍🏾
That side part and bang is hitting u very nicely. Love it!!!!
F I N A L L Y! 😍.. I’ve been waiting for a hair update.. this relaxer came out great!
Not only do you have beautiful hair, your voice is golden!
I can’t wait until I have my baby (hoping for a girl since I have two boys) but AS SOON AS I DROP, I’m getting back on the creamy crack 😩 I only use the Mizani line as well .. with Affirm coming in second
Ahh the days when wash day wasn’t wash day but just a few hours 😅I do miss relaxers sometimes but I’d never go back. I haven’t straightened my hair in maybe 3-4 years, I may try it and see how I feel. Love watching these videos though so I can reminisce about easier days ❤
That relaxer is everything in this relaxer life child 😊 and I am all the up and through here for this side bang sis I love it this was sooo satisfying to watch!! I been wanting to try switching over to Mazini and after this.... I seriously just might 😍
so happy to see someone else that stretches long
I love it 😍. I haven't relaxed my hair since probably 2005. I think I'm ready to do this.
Same it’s been since July 2012
although I’ll nvr go back to a relaxer 🙅🏽♀️ I love watching your videos doing it & the energy you bring 💕💕
the bang looks good on you. I am more of a middle part person as well but they both suit you well!
I'm so happy ur still here!!!!!! I LIVE FOR UR VIDEOS HOONNEEYY!!! lol love u T n ur beautiful babies! Zara is just too cute! Been a fan for awhile so I pray all is well n ull b back soon!!!! Love from Missouri!!!!!❤
Tierra!!! Girl you rocking that side part, the cut looks good on you.
I feel you did an excellent job with relaxing, styling and cutting your hair.
I love the side part on you it looks so good and once the curls dropped the bang looked even better ❤️ got me wanting to grow my hair back to get me a side bang lol
Tierra! If you have a steamer, use that next time you apply your treatment! I do that after every Relaxer service I provide and they love it! 💕
As soon as my hair grows back long, I’m getting a relaxer cus I can’t deal with this natural shit😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Really...🤔
Been over it..I remember when I wasn't permed(aka relaxer) up all the time..people were like girl u need a perm..now its girl, u gotta perm? People follow trends..
I've been trying as well, but them roots tho . Its hell lol
Girllllaaa! This is bomb! Stop! The side bang is perf!
awesome look. I can't believe you transformed your hair all by yourself girl!! Keep the side parting for a softer look
I love everything about the end results 😍. I’ve been natural for over 5 years and I’ve been thinking about getting a relaxer. I miss my flat wraps 😩😩
Same here I'm torn. I love my curls but I don't wear them hair life must easier relaxed I'd do a rollerset in 15 mins tops and it lasted 3 weeks
@@AmiaChanel sadly for me I work outside AND live in Florida 😩😩 my hair shrinks within mins after stepping outside.
@@rlovek1988 I completely understand I live in Charlotte NC this weather bipolar I have to figure out what I'm going to do asap though
I’m 100% natural but I absolutely loveeee mizani hair products! The coconut soufflé, and miracle milk spray along with the shampoo and conditioner and clay mask are all down of the best products for curly kinky hair. Does a great job detangling and deploy moisturizing! My curls are always popping and frizz free
Loving the side part! Been natural for 7 years now. Definitely missing the creamy crack and will be going back as soon I find another professional stylist. Love your videos! 🙏❤
Me too!
I haven't put a perm in my hair in almost two years. I do use Mizani hair products, when I braid my hair, and their products have softened my natural curls.
Yeeeeeaaassssss T! You killed it girl!!! U stay coming thru with the bomb music too!
Thank you for showing people to protect their skin/health from the relaxer by BASING THEIR SCALP/SKIN. 💜
I love the side bang on you Tierra, I want to try this relaxer for myself.
Your hands are blessed! Cutting, relaxing , curling, straightening on your own hair. 🥳🥳🥳
I can’t even use a comb properly on the back of my head. 🥺😩
Girrlll!!!!! You did a FANTASTIC JOB on your hair. I’m natural and this video is making me want to shift back to a relaxer and use MIZANI because of you. :) and I’m LOVING THE HAIRDO. The side part looks amazing! Again, great job and thanks for sharing 🥰
Good morning TeeTee girl !! you be doing the business baby I've been following you for a while. You do an amazing job on your hair keep up the good work much ❤❤
GIRL that cut looks SO GOOD!!! my gosh, now I've got sissors fever haha
You look so elegant, rock it for a few weeks, it is so very chic. It is different to what the other girls are doing. Always good to set the trend.
Yesssss T. I been waiting on this one!!!!🤗❤❤ Sis that side part is FIRE on you!!! Period!
