    Hi, we actually were BLESSED to rescue a swarm last even as well AND the precious lil 🍯🐝's were on the GROUND!!! I have never seen a swarm on the grass like this! There was a Purple Martin box about 10 foot away and the only thing we could think is that maybe the queen had landed on the Martin box and fell to the ground. As ya know where she goes ( or ends up ) the rest will follow.. When we got to the rescue we were running out daylight and trying to find the queen in the midst of thousands of bee's sometimes isn't the easiest, not to mention getting dark. But, now comes the but thingy, but I learned something from YOU a few videos back on y'all's first swarm of the season where you grabbed a frame on drawn comb and the bee's just marched right up on the comb. We did that too! And it worked!!! 💪😍. The homeowners asked " Well how will you know if you get the queen? " I told them to listen how loudly the bee's inside the box thus far are roaring cuz they know they are queenless and soon as the queen enters the box the bee's will go completely silent. And when we placed the third frame of bee's in the box they went totally silent. As ya know as soon as momma was on board the rest of the swarm just marched right in leaving the homeowners in awe! I'm kinda in awe myself that i learned a new trick YOU! THANK YOU AND HOPE Y'ALL HAVE A BLESSED SEASON!!!

    I was in my garden on Wednesday and heard what I thought was a drone flying over my head. I turned around to see it and it was a swarm of bees flying/swarming? I stood watching until they got a little too close for comfort then went in the house and watched from windows. They flew across the street then through my neighbors yard and on towards the woods behind his house. First time I've ever seen one.

    It's October now. Back in April I had a simular situation. These were clustered in a road cone next to my brothers front gate and it was after dark. I got most of them in my nuc box then left them. At the time I didn't have any drawn comb so I put in several frames of freshly waxed foundation. The next day they were gone. If I had found and caged the queen I'd have had them. I'm in my first year of beekeeping and I'm learning fast, my mentor is 80 and been keeping bees since 14. I now have more resources to work with like drawn brood comb. I now have 5 cutouts and 2 successful swarm captures under my belt. I have 2 colonies with plans to expand to 10 this next year. Thanks for the video.

    Great job on this rescue. I agree with your theory that branch broke under weight of bees. Since it was so close to dark they probably said "we're good." They looked like they were really calm. I like the name Party Hive. Keep us posted.

    If your mama has any of them old black film containers with the lid. My uncle used to take and drill out holes big enough for the tender bees to get into and he would keep a couple of them in his vehicle in the glove box for emergencies just in case. I don't know why but he said that those film containers worked better because it was a dark environment and kept the queen calm and stable😅😊

    • @r.a.w.r.news.t.v.2
      @r.a.w.r.news.t.v.2 Год назад

      What you need is one of the baseball caps from Realtree that have the LED light built into the brim keep one in your vehicle in the back with your bee suit. Also DeWalt makes a small Spotlight they comes with a charger and a battery its handheld it's probably one of the brightest spotlights that you can buy that isn't a actual Spotlight. It would work perfect there's two settings high and low it's high visibility full spectrum LED lighting it would make it perfect for you to be able to spot the queen. Something you need to think about putting together as a toolbox in your pathway on your way out the door for emergency rescues

    • @r.a.w.r.news.t.v.2
      @r.a.w.r.news.t.v.2 Год назад

      Not trying to be mean but I will say this during this night rescue I've watched several of them even during the daytime pick the branch up shake it into the box put one of your frames going up the box touching the ground put your other frames in the box and leave it be 9 times out of 10 and that shake of the branch you're going to get the queen if not it's going to stir the bees up she's still going to crawl into that box because everyone is going to climb high which means they're going up that frame into your box regardless. It's not always about being safe. It's about getting the job done and getting it over with the quicker you do it the less stress on the bees the longer you stand there with that light on them at night it messes with their circadian rhythm
