I ordered the LEVO II to surprise my wife. It comes today! Looking forward to see what she makes with it.
I originally subscribed for the bees 🐝 but I’m loving the herbalism content! 🌿
I filter wax by heating wax in water and pouring the water through a T-shirt which is strapped to a bucket.
Hand Bald for split finger tips... 1/3 Bees wax 1/3 Coconut Oil 1/3 Shea Butter,,, I sneak in some Tea Tree Oil for antibacterial properties... its very firm and helps deal with splits in dry skin on finger tips and doesn't wipe off when you put your hands in your pocket.
The bees wax offers a coating that locks in the moisturizers.
That was really interesting to see you make from start to finish especially the rendering beeswax. I'll definitely use that method next year if we are lucky enough to have honey. I've watched many videos but yours tops the lot

Oh, I love the Levo machine!! I have a small soap and skin care business and a machine like that would be helpful. Salves are so much fun to make and use! It is so satisfying to grow the plants and then process them into a beautiful salve or other product. Nice job! I love your channel.

This is my favorite lotion bar combo I make and this combo makes a wonderful face soap - I add a little fun mixtures of other hard butters to make a more solid lotion bar. Thank you for sharing this video. I really like your natural healing methods. The tea that you made in the last video using the pineapple peel and some other fresh herbs and spices, my mother and Grandma used to do something like that every winter"make" us kids drink it whenever we get sick. And my father would have us drink ginger tea ( hot Lipton tea with a quarter teaspoon of powdered ginger in it and we had to drink it before it cooled off and we were just kids) whenever we would get a fever and then he would tuck Us in bed and our fever would break after drinking the ginger tea. And you know what when I feel a cold coming on I will mix up myself a batch of Mom's fruit tea and stick it in the back of the refrigerator and drink it all winter long.
I have a condition now called castleman's disease which has to deal with my lymph nodes and my immune system. I wish I could talk to you directly . I need an apothecary to help me boost my immune system. There is no cure for Castleman's disease. I have idiopathic multicentric castleman's disease it affects all the lymph nodes in my body. It's almost like a cancer. I am constantly in pain. I have chosen a vegan diet. Because when I eat meat protein my lymph nodes get inflamed and swell and the pain is excruciating. I cannot eat processed foods the food preservatives, chemicals and dyes in the food they hurt me as well. I hope that you read this I really need your help. My kids gave me the nickname for little red hen from the nursery book story of The Little Red Hen that had to do everything by herself because nobody would help her. Truth is I was a single parent for a very long time and my children looked up to me they said I was their hero.

Hi Mary. I just saw this video July 2023. I can't believe I now know some else who has cattlemen disease. My son was diagnosed with it at 15 years old. He too has multicentric. He had to surgeries to remove and teat lymph nodes. At 28 it turned on cancer on him and caused his body to go crazy. He developed Bechets disease during this time. He was on strong steroids and taking cancer treatments. His blood counts were horrible. They didn't expect him to live. I started treating him with hers and doses of Apple Cider Vinegwith the mother in it. Doctors at Emory ans his cancer doctor couldn't believe his blood work. It was the best it had ever been. They asked him wh he was doing and he told them how I had been treating him. They were shocked. Said he was a walking miracle. He is now 37 years old and in excellent health. He does eat a clean diet like you. Please try the herbs and vinegar. It works. Hope this finds you well.
We use salve daily
I also have lavender coconut oil (general moisturizer) and tea tree coconut oil (athletes foot, warts)-both from EOs
The salves are so nice to put on just anything
I use a comfrey calendula St John’s wort one and a myrrh goldenseal one that I find for good prices. Otherwise I would have to make those too. I was in excruciating pain for hours (days rly that it badly hurt me) from burning myself when remelting a salve. I try to stay away from heating oils now 💥

Wondering if ginger root could be used in this machine
To let my liquids drain from cheese cloth, I place a wooden spoon under dishes( with the door open of course) in my cupboard and hang my cheese cloth from that. Then I leave it to drain into my bowl.

I learned that a small portion of people over time will develop an allergy to the propolis in raw beeswax. I discovered this after my lips starting tingling, itching, and swelling up after using homemade chapstick for a while.
It is possible to develop a sensitivity to just about anything. There should be very little propolis in beeswax, since it should remain solid and settle out when you render the wax.
Propolis is primarily a mixture of various tree saps - so probably has an elevated risk of causing an allergic reaction.

I understand, stored properly, honey never goes bad. Is it the same with beeswax? I have some beeswax that I bought several years ago and I’ve never used. It doesn’t look quite as fresh as when I bought it. Just wondering if it is still usable.

I've seen a few videos on rendering beeswax and they always made it so complicated. I thought there has to be a better way. And here is the better way.
Great video! I bought bees wax pellets from inesscents but I am having a hard time melting them. Would you say that’s a sign that the wax isn’t pure? It has also lost its beautiful smell when warmed up… is that normal?

Hey there! Mine is a little cloudy as well when you shake it up.
I do this with a small crackpot dedicated to bee's wax. I will be buying cheesecloth for this process. It should help get cleaner wax.

For cleaner wax - after running it through the cheesecloth or nylon stocking, run the melted wax through a coffee filter.

@@TheHoneystead I realize it may incur Regulations and Permits through the FDA or some other Regulatory Government Body, Lord only knows I am familiar with Government Regulations. Just waiting patiently for you to arrive at that point in time.
If this is what you use for your skin, it works great! Have you found any herbs do not work like you were taught? Do you make them stronger somehow or just stop working with them?
If the herb isn't working for you, change to another. Our bodies are all different and plants can work differently in our bodies. I work with essential oils. Sometimes an oil that works for others for a certain issue may not work with my issue. So, I try another oil which is supposed to have similar properties.
Our bodies and plants... it's all about chemistry. Kinda like how some people like cilantro and others don't. Some of us like and are drawn to certain scents, others are not. I think Siberian Fir oil smells like stinky feet. Some friends have agreed with me. Another friend loves it. (She obviously smells it differently than I do! Lol)
If I need more than 2 herbs in an oil, would I just put my current infused oil back into it with different herbs in the container things?

You don't need a funnel. Put your dry herbs on a sheet of paper and kinda roll it into a spout to pout it into the thing.
I know this video has a little age on it but I have been looking for these ingredients . What kind of oil was this that you used . I use the coconut oil for my lip balms. I was not totally sure if you were saying to use what ever oil you were putting in plus the coconut oils or just use only coconut oils. ???. Can you explain the Levo machine . I was under the thought that when someone infuses herbs to oil the ingredients sit for a month or more to infuse together . It did not seem it took a month for that machine to infuse the oil. Wondering how effective the machine is in drawing out nutrients .
Those recipes probably had the herbs/oil at room temperature. Heating the oil makes the infusion go much faster.
Another thing to keep in mind - water infusions and oil infusions extract different substances.

The machine probably has a default setting that should work fine for most non-woody herbs. It should also come with a user's guide with suggested settings for various herbs.
Can anything like this be used as eye salve to improve eyesight with?
I would avoid putting anything homemade in my eyes.
