  • The behind the scenes TV stories you wouldn't have known - from the people who were there.
Today, the conclusion to my conversation with Jack Larson, the 1950's Jimmy Olsen and Noel Neill, who played Lois Lane.
Noel Neil meets Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder on the set of the SUPERMAN movie, Watching them shoot the flying scene off the balcony.
How George Reeves ended up on I Love Lucy.
The tv wedding of Superman and Lois Lane.
Jack and Noel speculate on what might have eventually happened to their versions Jimmy and Lois.
Jack Larson and Noel Neill. Two beloved icons who will both be missed.
Neill was 95 when she passed away in 2016.
Jack Larson passed away in 2015. In addition to playing Jimmy Olsen, Larson was a prolific playwright and well-loved in the theater world. Their final screen appearances, appropriately enough, were in 2006's SUPERMAN RETURNS.
What are your thoughts? Jack and Noel were icons to my generation. But who played it best? Let me know who YOU thought was the best Jimmy Olsen and the best Lois Lane . I can't wait to hear.

Mr. Larson and Mrs.Neill are eternally the definitive Olsen and Lane. along with Mrs. Coates.

Finally got around to watching this last episode. These two set the gold standard for me. All others were cheap imitations. Were Jimmy Olsen alive today he would have his own RUclips channel reporting on senior issues!

I love how she says "what's her name and her husband." (Lucy and Ricky!) Now at age 68 I can relate to the slip of the tongue which baby boomers called "senior moments." Now we getem all the time. And Jack not realizing there was a Lois on Smallville. Priceless. When I met NN for a photo op in the 90s I stood in awe wearing an S t-shirt, still keep pic on my mantel along with a blown up shot of Jimmy and Clark. This is the only episode I've seen, well worth the watch and thanks for posting.

Atrocious audio, but when Noel laughed she looked 50 years younger.

The one and only Superman.....George Reeves. Thank you for this series. I have been a fan of Superman series for over 50 years. Also I don't think George killed himself, Leonore Lemon either did it or was involved.

Precious interview audio lost because of a terrible microphone.

I need to look up the librettos of Jack Larson. He wrote for opera and the ballet, as I recall.
