  • Take a live class with Dr. Arielle Schwartz: drarielleschwa...
This is the first class of the new year.
A time to look back and reflect…and time to set your sights on what lies ahead.
But it is also a great class for anytime of year that you want to set intentions and align yourself with your values. Questions to help align your inner compass:
Aligning yourself with your values…finding your inner compass.
    • What are you seeking to create more of in your life?
    • How do you want to treat others and how do you want to be treated by others?
I invite you to set your Sankalpa: A Sacred Vow. A Promise you make to your innermost self:
And here are the poems and quotes from today:
    FOR A NEW BEGINNING
    By John O’Donohue
In out-of-the-way places of the heart, Where your thoughts never think to wander, This beginning has been quietly forming, Waiting until you were ready to emerge.
For a long time it has watched your desire, Feeling the emptiness growing inside you, Noticing how you willed yourself on,
Still unable to leave what you had outgrown.
It watched you play with the seduction of safety And the gray promises that sameness whispered, Heard the waves of turmoil rise and relent, Wondered would you always live like this.
Then the delight, when your courage kindled, And out you stepped onto new ground,
Your eyes young again with energy and dream, A path of plenitude opening before you.
Though your destination is not yet clear You can trust the promise of this opening; Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning That is at one with your life’s desire.
    Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk; Soon you will home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.
“The most profound integration of your yoga practice happens when you allow yourself to rest. Resting into stillness gives you time to absorb the new patterns that you created in your practice. Integrating these changes into your overall sense of self is what allows you to transform over time. Settling into stillness also allows you to access the inner wisdom that can be found within the depths of your psyche. As if diving deep below the surface of the ocean, you find the slowest-moving currents of your soul’s wisdom. Within these depths, you connect to your intuition. As you reside in this deep connection to your heart,
you learn to trust this inner knowing, which becomes the guiding compass for your life’s decisions.” Arielle Schwartz from the Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma book available on Amazon: www.amazon.com...

I agree; I’m not a fan of a one word for a year’s beginning, or ending. I am a mixed, complex, and simple human and soul, and one word is used in Sen and Buddha practices, especially for Monks, yet I have more inner heart creativity for my feelings for a year, coming and going. 😉🥰

i love all of your classes....but this one in particular was just gorgeous. Thank you so much for this practice - one of the words that came to me was "foundation" (foundation of/for Care)....this felt like an integral piece of that foundation. Thank you!
