    "Making a Beat” series is all about the process. I will strictly be making beats in this series and display them as cinematic as possible. Fan favorite for all the die hard producers who follow me. I will be making hip hop beats, rap beats, trap beats, edm beats, and many more throughout these episodes. So enjoy and make sure to leave your thoughts in the comment section.

    TL;DR:
    1) Change the default opening project to one without a limiter
    2) Shift+Q on the piano roll quantizes the midi to your set snap grid
    3) Ctrl+L Auto sends stuff to the mixer
    4) If you cut self on an 808 and use the sampler envelope with 0 on every level and max out hold the 808 stops when you let go of the key you're playing without silent samples
    You're welcome.

      If you want to cut it go into miscellaneous tab on the 808 and put 5 by 5 in and do the same for the next instrument and it should cut perfectly and its nice and clean without adding another instrument.

    For the 808 u can also use the hold parameter so it only plays as long as the note is saves a little time :3

    • @idkclay
      @idkclay 6 лет назад +2

      and if that doesnt work u can create an automation clip with the volume of the 808

    • @jnyce283

      in your parameters turn everything down but the sustain and you can hold the note etc. or just put the sound in mono instead of poly!!!!

    I think somebody already has put this in the comments, but you can also record your live played piano loop with automatic quantizing on.
    It then wil automatic set the keynote at the beginning of each line.
    I think you can set these settings on, by left clicking on the record button. You can choose then out some different options.
    Good luck!

    RESPECT to you, for being a ONE MAN army man!
    I do music, videos, website, photos, editing, design, EVERYTHING myself too.
    Things like these helped me learn a lot by myself and do not expect stuff from others.
    Stuff like "aaaah, why do not I get support from others or a music deal, so everyone does
    this stuff for me?"...
    Do not care about that, I do everything myself and HOW I want it and do not depend on anyone.

  • @haroldbones84
    @haroldbones84 6 лет назад +11

    Great video but I want to point out something really important. The knobs on the channel rack are the most important when it comes to working on your gaing staging process. You can't trust the mixer faders for gaing staging as they are not meant for it. Do this test and let me know. Make a melody or drum pattern. Put that on one mixer channel as usual, then put a plugin that shows you the actual level of your source volume. The Fab Filter Pro Q2 it's a good one for this. And then watch what happens when you turn down the volume from the channel rack vs moving down the fader on your mixer channel. Gaing staging is everything when it comes to mixing and working with plugins. The more headroom you have for your mixing process the better sound you get out of the plugins you are using for your mix.

    Another way you could get the 808 to not overlap is by right-clicking on the sound so options like "piano roll, "rename/color" show up and if you click on the "cut itself" option then the 808 cuts itself when you play the next note. Also, another way you can prevent the 808 from leaking over into a different section of the track is by clicking on the envelope/instrument settings (the one by the wrench) is by turning your decay time knob (the one that says DEC) all the way up and turning all the other knobs all the way down. Nice video btw I never knew about the CTRL + L trick so that will definitely come in handy, can't believe I was wasting my time assigning tracks with my mouse lol.

    Another way to cut 808s that I always use is just turn the attack and release knobs all the way down, and then cut them manually in the piano roll.

    When he says problems with family and stuff like that, I imagine he lives with parents and they give him a hard time. They think he's wasting his time? I only guess that because I have known white boys (because it's only been them that I see it happen to) who live in a nice home and they wanna be down, rap and or make beats. I knew one that lived in a mini mansion and he would pay me to come over and him make beats at like 2am. Every single time, he would have an argument with his parents.
    I knew two others, one was Riff Raff but I never made beats for him. He would come by the graphic design store I managed and I heard he had problems too. And when he came by black folks would stare and laugh at him.
    But, if you really want to pursue it then by all means. Besides, a lot of them have found their niche on YT. It helps, because becoming successful selling beats to big name artists is not easy at all. I lived in LA for 7 years, produced for some known artists and later became an engineer for a prominent studio in Houston--and I can tell you, it's hard to do it the traditional way.

    28. I'm a I'll lyricist. And as a Father of a 6month old Now. I realized it takes being a Man who was dedicated to his passion, committed to goals set and adaptive to lifes challenges that will make me a good Father for him. Especially with the way the world is changing. Time to take control. Make my own Beats. Is step 1. Learn things from a producer's angle. Thanks for being my first Video as a start this journey. Everyone says production is simple. Like rocket science too me.
