Expertly done. Slow as possible when backing can not be overstated. 👍
Thanks Hogdriver! I agree my friend.
Great topic. So far you are the only channel I have seen address this. Well done. Helps me know it can be done...with patience!
Appreciate that David!
There's NOTHING Better than watching a "Joel Olsteen" RV video! 😇GREAT JOB! Keep the videos coming!! -Todd
Lol! Thanks tw HomeShow!
great job man you guys have a beautiful set up, also you should get a electric jack for your trailer so you dont have to crank it I got one for my 20ft trailer its a big help when its a heavy load.
Thanks for the tip Rat Fink!
Tolleson, you said the magic words to backing a trailer. "Keep it as straight as possible"
Lol! Indeed, thank for watching M/V Old School!
I love how you guys take something seemingly boring and mundane, and turn it into an exciting thriller. Danger Tolleson Life Danger!
Ha ha! Thank you yougear100!
Great job of keeping everybody all the equipment safe. Slow and steady always wins the race. Although, I couldn’t help but noticing, all the high rent equipment, and no power jacks on the trailers?/😂😂😂. Thanks again for sharing and safe travels to all y’all.
Hey Kevin Bell here, trust me the jack on our trailers has given us fits and will be replaced with a power jack. lol
Thanks for watching Kevin. Yea, the power jack would be nice.
I enjoy seeing all the campgrounds, like checking out all the different Rigs and setups,
great video!
Thank you Earl! Glad you enjoy it.
WOW! you guys make it look easy, but I know different!!! great video guys! stay safe
Thanks Rocky👍
Great job Darryl! Appreciate you taking us along 👍🏼
My pleasure my ol' friend! Always appreciate ya watching.
Great job parking in the small campground!! We don’t have as long a rig as you do, but totally agree that slow and steady makes for a safer outcome. Isn’t the Pacific NW beautiful country!! Safe travels 😊🇺🇸
Thanks Janice! It is beautiful out here, just need a little more sun :)
Great backing job. You need some type of hitch lock to prevent theft. Can you imagine backing a short motorcycle trailer that you couldn't see with that long of a rig!
Thanks Scott! I agree I need to get a lock. A short trailer would be interesting back for sure!
You make it look easy. thanks for sharing and looking forward to next weeks video, Cheers
Thanks guys 👍
Making it happen under all circumstances. Good job.
Thanks Tolleson Bunch! Love the RUclips name!
Slow is the key.
You can purchase a remote camera for your trailer that will help when backing.
Keep the rubber on the road and safe travels.
Thanks for the tip Brian!
Good stuff. Keep living the dream.
Thank you Preacher Moto Man!
Nope. Could not do that. My heart rate would be through the roof. You are amazingly calm.
Lol! Thanks for watching FFL3801!
Hey Darrel, good job buddy, I’ve been in a similar situation with my 5th wheel, slow and steady brother
Nice backing Daryl . Clay is looking as beautiful as ever. Hope don’t mind me complimenting Clay. Safe Travels Ahead as always.
Thanks ECC!! Oh no, she is a beautiful "Island girl" to be sure! Always appreciate you watching.
Great Job. Look forward to all your videos
Awesome, thank you D Branch!
Sad we haven't seen a video from you too and almost 7 months I think love your RUclips channel and your vacations and the as I call it a beautiful home that you are living in to go across the country I really would like to see more videos
Hey Vickie, we took a couple of months off but if you haven't seen one in 7 months, check out the channel. In fact we just posted another one. We appreciate you watching!!
Great job with that big rig. I Enjoy the videos, stay safe out there on the road. 👍
Much appreciated Tom!
Wow!!! You made it look easy.
Lol Charlie! Had to keep is slow!!
Great Video. I just upgraded from 34' to 40' Class A with a 22' trailer. Thanks for sharing
Congrats on the upgrade Sherman!
Man YOU MADE THAT LOOK EASY!! YOUR A PRO!!!
Lol! Not hardly Daniel but we appreciate ya :)
Backing up like a Boss.. we have a 40’ DP and also have a 20’ car hauler. I have been thinking about towing it a few times and the total length is what keeps me from towing it… nice to see how well you managed your rig into what looked like a very tight spot.. again well done.
Thanks John! Appreciate you watching. So far it has all worked out! :) How long is the trailer including the tongue?
@@TollesonLife tongue adds about another 5’ so 25’ overall.
Another great video an I'm hoping for another video like on caves again or something exciting like that but out of everyone I follow yours usually more interesting an knowledgeable
Thanks Randall! We will see what we can do :)
Most important lesson is slowing down and taking your time navigating the backing and movement of the rig. Impressive backing by the both of you.
I agree with you Cory! Appreciate ya.
Suggestion: I would have two walkie talkies. I would give one to the person guiding you in. That way, there is more communication going on that just hand signals.
I agree Carlos, Clay wasn't with me when we backed in, but we always use cell phones and have walkie talkies ready if no cell service. Thanks for watching!
Y’all are doing this right!!!!
Thanks!!
After 25yrs of driving a tractor/trailer,when backing up must be slow and have a goal. And that goal is Get-Out-And-Look !
I hear ya Rich!
Excellent Job
Love the videos.
Thanks
Thanks for watching Joe!
Well done guys....impressive.
Thanks Frosty!
Wow I could have never backed that trailer up like that! Lol
Lol! Hey, we just take our time and so far its all worked out. :)
Very impressive backing up.
Thanks Bruce! Slow and easy!
Good video some good information thanks for sharing with us 👍
Thanks for watching Howard!
Great job with that big rig.
Thanks for watching Derrick!
Thanks guys…Awesome information on getting around with a trailer. Keep us posted on the trailer upgrades/features. I’m in the market for a smaller trailer. We currently rely on our e bikes once we get to a site.
Thanks! Will do Suburan Osiris!
Great video. I was wondering about backing with the trailer connected. When the second rig made the turn in the video it really showed how beneficial the turn radius is.
Thanks Matt! Yes sir, that turn radius is a lifesaver.
Great video and thanks for the Rambo trivia 👍
Lol! Appreciate you watching.
Beautiful set-up!!
Thank you!
Excellent content-thanks!!
Much appreciated Dr. Mott!
Thank you for sharing
My gosh that’s big rig
Hey guys, thanks for watching!
Every video is inspiring and really helps us novices to understand the best way to live the RV life. A few of my friends and I are talking about doing our first trip very soon in a rented RV. God Bless you all and continued safe travels!!
Glad we can help out a little Karen! Thank you!
Yes go do rent a rv. That is how I got my wife hooked into the rv life. Almost 30 years.
Well done, you have really got me thinking about a Class A🤔
LOL! Thanks D!
Great looking rig great job backing I tell people all the time the longer the trailer the easier backing the secret is set yourself up before the backing starts. I too hold a class a cdl own a trucking company and still drive some. Just a safety note on hooking and unhooking your trailer please cross the safety chains right chain hooks to left side of hitch and visa versa certain states will nail you for that (IN IL KY MO to name a few) really enjoy your videos keep them coming and stay safe.
Hey Randy! Much appreciated my friend!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Nicely done! As in Anything…. It never pays to hurry…. Please know I don’t always have that statement handled!!! 😎 Just ask my wife… Actually please don’t ask her!!!!!
I hear ya David!!
A lot of work. But what a nice rig.
Thanks for watching Tim!
Great video, and yes slow very slow & practice lots of practice helps immensely. What size of trailer do you and your friends have?
Thanks Luc! We have 24 ft trailers with a 5 ft tongue. (Total 29 ft)
I’m curious how you two are doing finding places to stay. If anyone else has been making reservations on the fly, please chime in. Thanks!
Hey dj16911, we are discussing this topic in our next video! Stay tuned.
Good afternoon you two! Your Bus and the Phaeton (and trailers!) needs a good washing!!! Cruising in the spring northwest rain......yuck. As usual, great perspective on moving the land yachts - who taught y'all where/how to set up the cameras/angles in relation to driving around? Well done! Enjoy your days! Possible let up in the precipitation by Friday?? Thanks for the Sunday fun times 😎 ! Be safe.
Hey Mike! I know, we have been in ran for a month! The camera work is something I just "figured" out, trying to tell the best story I can. Appreciate ya!
@@TollesonLife Huge positive is it'll keep wildfires at bay. Some of the greatest ideas are "founded" by pure accident! Well done, keep the creativity flowing! We ALL appreciate you two!
I would like to know what’s in your friends trailer and how tail the bikes sit on top of the trailer. Nice driving Mrs. Tolleson!
Hey Missions with Luna! They have 2 motorcycles and a jeep in theirs. With the bikes on top, they are 13 feet 2 inch tall, about the same as their Tiffin height.
I have a 16 DUTCH STAR I pull a 24 enclosed trailer also. I would like to see how you have the bike and car inside of your trailer.
Hey Renard, have a look at this and see if it answers the question. ruclips.net/video/PwjRkCbyh4k/видео.html
It’s going to get harder to find sites. Mostly you will need to drop the trailer.
DO NOT a try to stay at the Quad City/Rock Island KOA in Iowa.
Thanks for the info Horizon 42Q!
Well Darryl, great job! With the fuel going out of sight, do you find yourselves staying longer at campgrounds due to fuel issues being so expensive?
Hey Matt, not really. We do have some monthly stays booked but not due to fuel prices.
Hey Darryl another great video but I really need to remember to do hair and make up around y'all, lol.
Lol! Thanks Bell!
Hi,,Darryl,,,are you around Sturgis today,,we are gonna be in town to see some friends,,,we could hook up if you all are near by...,Dave,🌲🌲🌲👍😎
Dave, sorry man, just getting back to the computer to respond. Im late again. Will be at the Full Throttle today. How about y'all?
Hello we are your new subs. Found you when searching South Dakota. You two are great. Your videos are awesome, fun and very helpful. I love the playfulness. We are smaller RUclipsrs also. But just hit 1000 lol. Our channel is HetteshWorld (RVers and Can-am Spyder riders). Looking forward to watching you all and learning from you. Thanks!!!
Welcome HetteshWorld! Glad you found us and hope all is well with you guys! Will be checking out your channel today!!
Have you thought of unhooking and using a truck or the vehicle you trailer to park the empty trailer?
We have Richard, but our car won't for that purpose. Some parks actually have a vehicle to move it for ya.
You do this for just over night stays too? I have a 45' Entegra and a small tow car right now. I considered using a trailer so I could get a motorcycle too, but my travels consist of many overnights to get to a destination. Many times, I have to unhook the car just to get the coach into the site ( length issues) and unhooking and hooking a trailer seems daunting.
We really don't do overnights with this set up, if so, its a long pull through lot or a rest area where we never have to unhook.
Why don't you get a Parkit360 Force 10K electric trailer dolly. I have a 44 foot Winnebago Grand Tour (tag axle) and tow a 20 tandem axle enclosed car trailer. I just get close to where I want to park the trailer, disconnect and hook-up my Force 10K electric dolly. I can move the trailer anywhere I want to with the car inside. It works great. At some RV sites, I just pull the trailer straight in so I can use the trailer as a car garage. Pretty sure people drive by and wonder how I pulled my trailer straight in.
👍👍
no plate on your trailer? What is on your dash? Dash camera and what else? Nice rig.
Hey Dale, the plate is on it now. Original plate was lost in the mail, had to do a police report, order another one etc.....I have the dash cam, GPS and a 360 camera on the dash...most of the time. Thanks for watching.
Great job. Do you have to pay extra to store a trailer like that in the parks?
Hey Dana, yes some times they do charge for trailer parking, some do not.
👍
Thanks Darren!
I can't even back up my lawn mower trailer.
Lol GeoD!
How do you get by with 70 Ft ? Isn’t it illegal to be longer than 65 feet?
Hey August, many states are 65 ft and a couple even less. My home state is 75 feet but length statues are not reciprocated like drivers license, license plates, fire arm permits, so some states I am within legal limits, cross a state line and I may be over a few feet.
You realize that some states over all length is 65 feet
I do Greg. Some even shorter.
Mainly here for that southern accent. Don't plan on owning a trailer in this life time.
Lol! Hey, we are glad you're here byever1.
👍
Thanks George!
