Miyako that seems to be the wife's favorite was at this time 4-5 month pregnant! Yes, they are in good shape. The drummer have this tempo for almost 2 hours. The other guitarist is competing in muscle/bikini competition.
In Japan, most of the events have been canceled since spring 2020 until the COVID rules were in place due to the pandemic, and it took about a year to resume. This concert was also held under the rule that the audience was only allowed to wear masks, sit in chairs spaced apart, and clap their hands. Even so, the LB members and the audience were delighted to be able to hold a live concert.
Miyako (guitar/black hair) played several guitars, a grand piano, an electronic keyboard, and a keyter in this two-hour concert of 18 songs. Six months later, she announced on her Twitter account that she had given birth to her baby girl.
Miyako and Midori are one of the best metal guitar duo’s in the world today!
Haruna is one of the best metal drummers in Japan! And Asami is an amazing vocalist and stage-general!

While Midori and Miyako on guitar are probably indeed the main attraction (Midori: blonde, Miyako: brunette), don't underestimate the others. Haruna (drums) is a terrific drummer with superb speed and exactness and stamina, even if she doesn't play the most flashy fills (for which the music they play with its speed is not really apt). Asami (vocals) is in fact a really, really great singer. I've never heard her put a note wrong, and have you listened to those clear, glass-cutting hight belts? And all that when she was singing entirely different styles of music before (soul and R'n'B). Miho, while excellent, was probably the most conventional of the bunch; but anyway, she left, and now they have an actual certified maniac on bass since a few days ago: Fami. I enjoy yr reactions to this band... All their songs are excellent but this week the song that's impressed me the most is "Scream for Me" The guitar solos in this song are outstanding about 14 in all ,it's amazing how they integrate into the song so well.

Not only guitarists play very fast. The drummer plays even faster, she uses double pedals for the whole song. And you didn't even notice it. And what about the bassist? She also plays very fast and not everyone's fingers can withstand such intense work. They are all incredible professionals. :)
Of course you should keep watching Lovebites. In any case, to continue, I suggest you watch the song "Swan song with Chopin Intro" - this is a very beautiful song that reveals another side of Lovebites. And since you liked Asami's voice the least, check out the song "Edge of the World" - it fully reveals the power of Asami's voice.

Two perfect suggestions to show more of the range of talents of all five of the White Wolves.
Great to see you give them another watch. I think you would greatly enjoy their ballads too. "A Frozen Serenade" and "Epilogue" would be my suggestions. Both live of course.
Do not underestimate the energy required to play drum at this speed during a 1h30 show.
Lovebites are unique in my experience. 50 pieces of music, every single one of this quality, and every single one performed flawlessly live…every time. A two hour show with 18 songs is played mostly at pace, but they do have less hectic arrangements, and they maintain the quality throughout. I understand your point about the guitarists attracting the lions share of the listener’s attention, but only if you’re new to the band. The bassist left, and we all eagerly await the debut of her young replacement. An outstandingly talented musician. Haruna, the drummer, has to be one of the most skilled drummers I’ve ever seen. What she does is inventive, very high tempo, yet her playing style has been built on economy of movement. Asami, the vocalist deserves more credit than you give her, but you’re not alone. Many reaction channels either make passing comments about her vocals, no comment, or complain that her accent is too strong for them to follow the lyrics, which are always in English. She puts in song after song with the intensity that you just saw, for two hours, and ends the show as strongly as she begins it. These ladies are the best thing to happen to music…any music, in my lifetime and I struggle every evening to come up with sufficient praise for just how talented and enjoyable they are as musicians. There’s nobody else that can touch them.
The blond woman on the left (Midori) is loved by many for her flashy and cheerful performance. On the other hand, the black-haired woman on the left (Miyako) looks like a quiet character. But that's her "personality", and I think her passion is stronger than anyone else's. Building on her skills as a classical music pianist, Miyako has her understanding of all musical disciplines. LOVEBITES has a repertoire of about 50 songs, and Miyako composes nearly half of them.
(Because Midori tends to get a lot of attention when she's cheerful, I introduced Miyako a little favorably.)
Of course, other members should also be noted. Especially in this song, the performance of the drummer (Haruna) should be evaluated as much as possible. Someone heard this song and said, "This whole song is made with a drum solo!"

You cannot pick one or two out as one carrying the band, its the combination of them all that makes them play as one!! The drummer for me stands out more than the rest and is one of the finest I have seen and I would put Haruna in the same league as Mike Portnoy, Neil Peart ( whom I have seen both) and Senri Gawaguchi! As for Asami she is unique and a powerful singer and has been likened to a female version of Bruce Dickenson!! Remember guitarists are not the end all and be all of the group!!
The band as whole is phenomenal, the guitars from Midori and Miyako do stand out, they are so amazing together, and have different styles on their own!!

Actually this song is not insanely fast, its a classic thrash metal.. however their ability to maintain the pace and all are on the beat is unbelievable.

Midori & Miyako are two of the best guitarists playing in the world today and definitely give the band it's unique sound - BUT the drummer Haruna really doesn't get the credit she deserves - a 1.47m tall ball of energy . Asami the vocalist ( who's from an R&B background ) really does have a great voice and the lyrics of their songs are superb ( perhaps it would be better if you had the subtitles switched on - it is worth it ) . Miho the bassist has sadly left but her replacement Fami is world class . Sorry for the long comment but to finish - if you want to get your minds blown by Miyako's musicianship I'd recommend listening to " SWAN SONG " with the Chopin Intro - guarantee you won't be disappointed 😃

Next I would recommend "Swan Song". For some background (you probably know this) Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the greatest classical composers of all time. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). For this performance, she actually played the Etude as a prelude, but it’s not normally included in their shows.
As a guitarist I get the top level playing but don’t overlook Haruna on the drums - she is next level ( and if you think miyako is a magical guitarist you have not heard her on on piano yet - that will drop your jaws , )
I discovered Lovebites a little more than two years and a half ago and I’m still in owe. Some people say that they’re redefining metal or that they are from another planet. I agree, they are pure magic; their level of musicianship and skills are beyond belief. They are so versatile. If you want more heavy/thrash, I recommend “The Awakening/Hammer of wrath”, “Shadowmaker”, or “Break the wall”. If you want to see Miyako shredding the piano, I suggest “Chopin Etude + Swan song”. If you want nice piano and nice vocals, I recommend “Empty daydream” or “Epilogue”. If you want something different, I suggest “Dancing with the devil”, “Edge of the world”, “A Frozen serenade”, “Spellbound”. All live.
The more you explore LOVEBITES, the more you will see & hear that they are an ensemble.
Each equally fulfills an essential 'role' in a complex arrangement that 'united' they bring to life, performing in perfect synchronization, song after song after song.
All have contributed both music & lyrics and collaborate on arrangements.
One way they have emphasized this is spelling LOVEBITES in all 'caps' while each member's name in 'credits' in their CD/Blu-ray/DVD booklets is all lower-case, not capitalized.
When auditions began for the new bassist, it was presented as seeking "5th Element".
Not a 'hired bass player' but an equal among the others. I expect to see that way of relating continue.
Further, the bassist, Miho who left for other endeavors, had the original idea which she conveyed to her friend, band-mate from earlier times, drummer Haruna who chose to work with Miho to develop this band, inviting fellow musicians they had met playing in the local 'clubs'.
💜Miho is much more than bass-player, having written 1/3 of all songs, both music & lyrics, and brought a distinctive 'thrash' "Natural Born Headbanger" quality, though her songs are quite eclectic, including profoundly meaningful lyrical themes. Asami writes most other lyrics.
"Little BIG Engine" Haruna🧡 is a marvel you will notice increasingly for her 'melodic' cymbal work, mimicking the vocal melody & chord changes with her quick-decay 'china' & splash cymbals & "ice bell", and precise transitions add interest, all while providing a relentless foundation (with Miho) of double-kick precision, tireless for 2 hours!
Yeah, I notice (the unsurpassed magnificence of) Miyako💙& Midori💚too... &:-)
and I cannot imagine LOVEBITES with anyone other than Asami❤, "The One & Only Voice" !

1st - great react to just an awesome song! One of my favorite thrash songs of all time! They are so talented as you said, Midori and Miyako (lead guitars) may steal the show but make no mistake it's a team effort. Haruna, the drummer is insanely good and as I like to say, at 4' 9", pound for pound the best drummer in existence! Asami is always great, tailoring her vocal range based on the song. Miho is missed for sure but looking forward to Fami (new bassist) bringing Lovebites to a new level of metal. A truly fantastic band. Great reactions to both Lovebites songs so far. As others have said..Swan Song is a must. The Japanese rabbit hole is very deep. You have to meet Nemophila (Adabana) and Band Maid (Domination Live) at some point.

Lovebites' tracks are all of the same level although they are different in their composition as well as in the musical style played. You are not done saying wow!!!
I cannot stand the singer in this band, the music are out of this world but the vocals ruins it.
Of course, you are entitled to your own opinion, but this is your personal, subjective opinion. For one person who does not like Asami's voice (for example, you), there are several thousand people who like her vocals and they believe that this particular vocal is suitable for LOVEBITES. I won't even cite the opinions of a huge number of evil music critics (who are ready to turn any famous band upside down, find any excuse to smash the band to shreds), music producers, professional musicians, opera singers, etc. who speak well of Asami (lead vocals). So it's not about Asami, but about you. 🤗Nothing personal.

You're just not a metal people, that's why you prefer Miyako, she's just much too still for my taste, this is a METAL show, not a piano concert, people comme to see a rock show, that implies showing a bit of emotion and movement. But that's not a surprise, despite her talent Miyako never was and never will be a metal performer.
