12:57 I like my shadow super slim ankle guards, I’ve had ankle braces in the past and didn’t like them felt I couldn’t move and the shadow slim ankle guards had more movement for me 👍🚲💨
I recently got a helmet at the winter welcome jam, and haven’t looked back. Fortunately in my years of riding I haven’t had any scary falls, but as I get bigger and better, I know I need to continue to protect myself. The next thing I’m getting are some shin pads and wearing my knee pads more often. I actually bought my knee pads to protect from my stem or top tube lol
Glad to hear you've been fortunate so far in riding and that you're thinking this stuff. If you do get some of those shin pads, make sure you use my link!
I fell right on my knee cap on steel and tore my patella tendon in my knee 80% across in both places where it attaches to bone after a couple surgeries it was almost a year before I could even walk and have permanent knee problems now for the rest of my life, safety equipment is really important,I can't ride in parks or on ramps anymore just flat ground
I agree been riding Bmx for a year and made great progress and learned fast you need gear First-day bought a good helmet I crashed bad and hit my head helmet saved me ,and shin guards helps out so much
Was looking here for some shin guards info But for real, safety SO important, im riding mainly scooter, and DH but getting into bmx again. My WORST crashes were with my scooter, one at night , was literally just crusing around and hit a stupid little hole in the ground, knocked me tf out, woke up the next day, with last 2 days completly deleted, luckily no actual damage to the head/brain etc( im 6 years past that and i think im okey XD) And the last one, was in another city chillin, and i told myself " first hour gonna warm up" and i didnt took my helmet, lierally tripped after a 180 air and almost knocked myself out again, i barely seen with my left eye for like 1-2hs. Now i always hear my helmet when riding anything tricks related. I dont wear my helmet while riding my bike generally when i know i wont jump anything tho im getting a fullface for bmx dirt and i think im gonna be smart about it and use it always. Better to be a bitter sweatty than doing another ER visit.
I’ve wondered how well they would do in some work applications depending on what they are. Feel like they could be good for something like flooring or plumbing
I lucked out during a session today, cased a ledge and gashed my knee up and scraped my hip. I wish I had these earlier. I’m going to be down for at least a week
Well done on promoting helmets. There very cool and you can sticker them up and promote brands you like on them too. Can’t do that on your head 😅

I'm thinking about buying a pair of those knee pads for work after this.

If you do get some, let me know how they do for you at work. I’d be interested in hearing that
