    LOVE how you explained your reading centers in detail today! Was JUST what I needed to fine tune my groups!!! I already had all your materials in today's video except one. Where is the "Roll it, Read it, Take it" Poster from? I'd love to be able to add that in as one of my center rotations. THANK YOU for always stimulating my teaching brain on Sunday to return to work on Monday🤩

    Thank you for another informative video, Ms Susan. I get so excited when you talk about collaborating with fellow teachers to make or plan lessons to help your students better. Can you please do a video on lesson planning and how that looks in your class, even a lesson plan template? Thank you so much! 😊

    We are also reviewing K-2 ELA curricula. Super curious to see what you think of Into Reading, EL and CKLA. Please keep us updated 🙏

    I love your resources in their writing folders . . . sound board, heart words, letter formation. Is this something that is available on TpT as I am not a member of your SJT clubs yet? Thanks :)

    Thank you so much for your great videos and resources! A question about the task cards. How do you know students are completing them correctly? Do you check them somehow or just have them wipe them off/clean them up at the end of the rotation?

    Looks like you have the rocking chair I was looking at on Amazon! :) I'm trying to come back to teaching after 8 years off. Seems to be more challenging than I was expecting to get hired, but I'm glad to have found your channel so I can get up to speed on what has changed in teaching since I've been gone. My county is using CKLA and Heggerty, btw.

    Thank you so much for the sound wall cards. My class is really enjoying it. I know you have the vowel team cards as well, but I don't see any for the ee and ey. Did I miss them?

    As you've transitioned to the science of reading, do your students read to self any longer, as in book boxes? I'm having a hard time letting this one go, as I still see value. But I also appreciate your literacy centers and that chance to practice phonics skills. There's just not enough time for it all! We adopted a new program this year that has my literacy time VERY full.

      That used to be my FAVORITE part of the day so I totally feel you!! During our WIN time, I have each student rotate through one rotation each week of buddy reading with their book bin - here they are buddy reading from their fluency folders (filled with decodable poems and blending lines and decodable passages) but then when they're done they sit and read books from their bin! I let them choose any books from the class library to go in there. I still see their eyes light up and enjoy this reading time!

    Hi Susan! I am inspired once again by your today's vlog! I have been thinking of revamping my "centers" time and was wondering if you have the slide to share. I am NOT techy in any way.. It gives me such major anxiety. LOL. If I had a blank template, I could add in my center choices. Thanks!

    I love the opinion writing graphic organizer. If they finish early, do they start another one on their own?

      @SusanJonesTeaching  10 месяцев назад +1

      They will go back into their folders and add illlustrations/color/details to older pieces! By this point in our unit they have a lot in there they can add to!

    I love the "Find the Fish" game to review heart words! I have just printed out an Easter egg and will be playing it as an Easter egg hunt with my students. I'd love other ideas of games to use for heart word review (other than Kaboom, which my students currently play and LOVE). Quick question, do you incorporate the high-frequency, but decodable words (some teachers call them "snap words") into your review? OR, do you review them differently/separately from heart words? Ideas on how to support fluency around snap words would be helpful.
    Thank you for all of the high-quality resources you provide as well as the "behind the scenes" skills (organizational, instructional planning, etc) that viewers like me can glean from your videos!

  • @JillMRodriguez

    Do you have for sale your math spiral review slides? I like that idea, I need to incorporate that more before my math lesson. What is your opinion on must do, may do? I have been doing that instead of centers and having to rotate. Can you link where you purchased your writing folders? I bought your personal narrative unit and just wanted to say we are loving it. Drawing out our stories ahead of time has been good for them to visualize their story.

    • @SusanJonesTeaching
      @SusanJonesTeaching  10 месяцев назад +2

      The spiral review slides are almost all from my math talks bundle! I will sometimes come up with new ones (like these time ones) and I will now create another 24 slides all about time to add to the bundle (www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Number-Talks-Daily-Math-Talks-for-Kindergarten-First-Second-Grade-BUNDLE-8245452)
      I like a must do, may do as well but I do that during WIN time already - we kind of already have two "unstructed" periods back to back where I need to create a structure so I wanted to switch it up! I will have to look for the writing folders - I did a quick search but can't find them. At school I will look for the brand to find them.
      And thank you so much! I love that your students are having success with it :)

Just to let you know that I've been trying for a while now to open the link: FREE Fundation Picture Cards, but I can't... maybe it's a problem on my end, but I just wanted to let you know in case there's an issue with the link.
