  • The kitchen faucet started experiencing a very low flow rate on the hot water side only. This video covers the troubleshooting steps to identify and eliminate the reason for the issue. A WATT'S FloodSafe shutoff faucet connector is discussed. These connector hoses have the ability to shutoff water flow if a break in the line develops.

    this was the fix for me, my hot only was running low. I also noticed, on both my hot and cold manufacturer braided lines for Kohler Cruette, there were small plastic flow restrictors on the ends of the connectors. I pulled them out and WOW! Pressure! Thanks, very helpful.

    Thank you for this. My problem was different. Sharing here. We have your faucet but with Motion Sense. The other end of the hot water pipe (not the valve end) goes into the hot side of the motion sense. I took off the hose and there is a small cylindrical white tube filter probably less than (or approximately) 1" long, . The mesh was full of gunk. I cleaned it out carefully with a toothpick and rinsed it. Put all back together. Success!!!

    Thans for this video. I just replaced my Moen faucet replacement hose and when I turned off the water to the inlet valves I noticed black water leaking from the valves. Now I have very low water flow on the hot and cold water sides but no restriction in hoses. I replaced the washers on the valves and they crumbled when I removed them. I'm guessing some debris from the washers got caught in the faucet itself since I blew out both hoses that attach to the faucet. Wish me luck!

      Might have some of the pieces from the washer plugging off in the faucet too. I bet you will find and fix the problem. Good luck with it.

    OMG! I should have seen this video instead of googling for replacment of cartridge. Sure enough I found a piece of plastic in the middle hose after wasting all day looking for a cartridge from home depot. Yes this video was very helpful getting rid of the piece of plastic from the center hose. Sad took me all day looking for cartridge and focusing on cartridge. By the way I sunk the cartridge in a venigar for about an hour while I was working on the other stuff. Maybe that also helped. But for sure I found a piece of plastic and it worked!

    Hi this is super helpful, we have the same issue that hot water pressure is low but cold water is fine(other faucets in the house functions well), we first shut off the cold water valve, keep the hot water valve open, the water pressure is ok, then we turn off both valve, get the hot water line off from the faucet(just like you did in the video 1:24) test the hot water flow, it is still fine, then we thought it might be the faucet's problem, so we took another same faucet in the basement which functions well, replaced the problemed one, still get the same low hot water pressure, do you have any idea what would the problem be?? thanks!

    • @FixItDepot
      @FixItDepot  10 месяцев назад

      Since two faucets functioned the same, I tend to think it might be the shutoff valve itself or trash in the line, but can’t be sure. Watch this other video I have and see if that helps. It’s title is “How to fix a kitchen faucet with low pressure and flow. Change shutoff valves and remove debris.” In that one the main problem was excessive solder being used during installation and it was plugging off the shutoff valve, hoses, and faucet parts. I hope it helps.

    We had the same problem with our moen tap but the plug was right up inside the hose at the fixture. At first it looked like the hoses inside the fixture are pressed in but they do twist out. They are threaded, thank goodness so we got the hose out and put a coat hanger down it to unplug the blockage.

      Good to hear you solved the problem. Just wondering, what did you find in it. I have another faucet video where we found solder all in the wall shutoff valve and the faucet internals. Too much solder was used when making up the fittings.

    Same issue in my guest bathroom except the water flow in the tub right next to the sink also has low hot water pressure. I don’t see any blockage and even replaced the old galvanized and copper piping. Any recommendations on what else it could be?

    • @FixItDepot
      @FixItDepot  27 дней назад

      There is a good plumbing channel called “The Grumpy Plumber” and he said to check the inlet and outlet piping on the water heater. Said it sometimes plugs up from electrolysis and you just have to clean out the pipe nipples. I have not experienced this, but he said he always checks that when there is good cold water pressure and low hot water pressure. Hope that helps.

    • @FixItDepot
      @FixItDepot  Год назад

      Then you must be plugged in the faucet. I would inspect the cartridge that is under the handle. Look for something that is plugging it or maybe just replace it. I don’t have a video on how to do it. Try to find one, but turn the hot and cold water supply off, remove the handle, unscrew the retainer that holds the cartridge in place. Remove the cartridge. Based on what you see either remove the obstruction or replace the cartridge. Good luck with it.

    For the past….10 years our soaker Jacuzzi tub has had an insanely low amount of hot water pressure. I didn’t have time to figure it out and my wife seemed fine with it. But it always bugged me. Finally had time today and found the cutoff valves and the hot water was almost closed. Ugggg. So opened it up and now the tub fills in 5 minutes instead of 30.

    • @FixItDepot
      @FixItDepot  2 месяца назад +1

      Sometimes there is solder material in the valve, hose, or faucet valve cartridge or nozzle. Sometimes it could be a black rubber gasket (oring) that has swelled up and slowing down flow. Hard to guess without knowing all the details.

      Not sure if you are closing the supply valve at the wall or the faucet. If it is the wall valve, then you probably have trash in the valve that is causing it to not seal. Try flushing out the trash my opening and closing it while the faucet is turned on.
