I have take a couple couture classes with Susan and am enrolled in her French Jacket for this coming Spring. Her classes are the best I have ever taken and she is such a wonderful educator.

I am in the same boat as@@gemimalondon. I bought the Susan Khalje pattern but will not invest in the online course. I have made a toile already, one test version is half done and my Chanel fabric is waiting...

Susan's classes are definitely worth it. I have made several jackets in class with her and using the online class with her pattern. I really can't recommend her enough.

I made Vogue 7975 in black tweed and it turned out beautiful. I loved working through the process of making it. I am considering purchasing Susan Khalje's pattern for this jacket as well as her skirt pattern to make another suit. I have fallen in love with the Chanel style. Hope yours comes out just like you want.

I have just made this jacket and did buy the video. I am very pleased with the result. One thing to note is that the pattern does not include seam allowances. I made a toile which was well worth it as I ended up making some alterations to the shoulder seam and the front bust seam. Its a great pattern, i think it's the best one as it has the 3 part sleeve. Its a pity V8804 is Out of Print.

Hi Jeanine, thanks for that, I'm just about the mark the panels on the fabric so I have a long way to go! Yes I agree about V8804, perhaps they will re-release it.

Oh, brilliant project. I love Claire Shaffer’s books and have incorporated some of the techniques in projects. They are fabulous ways to add couture elements to patterns. Susan Khalje’s Classic French Jacket pattern is one I have my eye on, but I am intimidated by the lack of instructions. I’m looking forward to following along as you make the jacket and gaining some insight in the process.

New subscriber to your channel😊 I am looking forward to watching your progress! I have not taken a Susan Kahlje class in person, but her video classes are excellent. I have considered signing up for her French Jacket class, but since I also have the Claire Schaffer book, I will watch to see how you get on using the book for instruction and may follow your lead😊

There is a sewing blogger called Goodbye Valentino and she and her friend would make a Chanel style jacket every year. I’m sure she attended in person classes with Susan Khalje for the jacket and skirt. If you look at her year 1 gallery on her blog she had photos and lots of details. Looking forward to seeing your progress. 👍👏
