Would love to hear you discuss different seams or finishes. The more you know, the more choices one has.

Thank you! I enjoyed this video so much. I will have to study it thoroughly! I need to learn more about seaming the delicate tweeds. Perhaps you underline?

Yes. My jacket have a silk lining and the tweed parts also have an interlining which supports the tweed. 🌼🧵🧥🌷🍃

It is very nice jacket but can you please show how to make a jacket from cut the fabric to sewing step by step. I am a beginner.

I have a bunch of different step-by-step jacket making videos. They're all in the 'Just Jackets' playlist on my channel's page. 😻🧥🌸

I think you have some incorrect ideas about the quilting and seaming on those types of jackets. Each flat piece is lightly quilted to the lining basically making one solid piece. Some spots have organza backing for extra strength. This is a very ancient method of construction. The seam allowances are @1" and the linings eased in and also tacked to the allowance. If you're getting a lot of seam stress, it's too tight. I prefer the quilting method as I hand sew mine. Obviously your mileage may vary.
I must say your embellishments are exceptionally interesting and give great ideas .

One of the great things about making our own clothes is that we can use the methods we each prefer. I am repeatedly asked for my opinion on quilting (and why I use a vintage Dior gown-inspired method rather than a vintage Chanel method). I don't expect everyone to agree.

@@PerfectJacket and lord knows we never wiil. :) I suppose That its because I mostly sew medieval clothing and am already comfortable with the method that informs my choice. I really enjoy your colour choices and your trims.

Medieval clothing? That's so awesome. I love reading classic literature, etc but nothing helps me understand previous eras quite like constructing historical garments.

My jackets are size zero/size 6 and I have cropped them. It's about 10cm shorter than the pattern. Also, no pockets.
