Hi Kathy, Thanks for sharing your favourite colour of yarn! I've not used many purples until recently, so it's true that tastes can change over time. I still love my greens - they've been my long standing.
Hey Gary. Great additions to the collection! I just took advantage of the big sale at Premier & I love how Premier has finally listened to all of us Canadians & they added the tax & shipping so it comes straight to the door no extra dings. Hooray! Formerly only Herrchners did that. I’m doing an afghan by Toni Lipsey called Mullberry. That gradient black would be fun in this pattern with that bright red purple cake on your shelf. Have a great rest of the summer! 🇨🇦🥳
Hi friend! Thanks for letting me know about the new arrangement. I'm super happy that this is the new normal between Premier Yarns and Canadian shoppers. I'm hoping that this is around for a while.
Hi Gary, I like the theme. As to weight mostly 4. That comes from making Irish blankets or sweater. Do plan on using 3 weight for a couple of projects. Get some rest you look tired. Thanks for the info. Kathy
@@urbanyarn you just looked a little tired 😫. Go to work and get some rest 💕. Weekends some times are harder on people then work days. Now that I am old I always look tired. First time l have seen you look tired. Take care. Kathy
Shelving looks great! I'd love a yarn wall!!!. Gorgeous some new yarn at joanns today, called Carousel. New to me. And bird houses were bogo. So I got 10 lol.. were going to have a 🐦 bird house paint party so next spring all the small birds have safe homes!!😊
I love your new shelves. So pretty. I also use DK Basik a lot for a temperature blanket, and love their gradients. Can't wait for them to come back into stock.
I love the wall. All my yarn is in plastic tubs bc we got flooded last November, so I had to empty my shipping container. I'm slowly making my way thru it. Love the green
Hi Gary. Love your Premier yarn haul, especially the Gradient cake. Looking forward to seeing the stained glass mosaic blanket you’re making with it. I know it’s going to be fabulous. My favorite colors are the grays and light greens. I think they go perfectly together.🥰
👋 Gary! That's a great haul and especially the luck with the extra DHL charges. Hope they make that a habit. I just ordered from Premier's Summer Sale yesterday and received tracking number today. And wow! Love your combo of the purples and grays. I work with mostly worsted yarn but have also used the thinner Mandala. Not in the same project. Gauge was too far off. Take care of yourself...from sunny Arizona! 🌞 🌵 🤠
Hello Kelly for sunny Arizona! I'm curious what a 3 and 4 weight will be like when each round of the Mosaic switches them up. I'll be able to report on that soon.
Hi Gary I love all your new colors. I did get some new mandala colors and also did just 2 yellows of the gradient yellow .I also got just yarn in the ombre it is beautiful, and that would be my favorite.
This is awesome to find out some of the new yarns you've added to your favourite list. I've not seen the Just Yarn Ombre. I'm going to have to take another look.
Thank you so much for your order from Premier Yarns! Can't wait to see what you create with all those beautiful colors! Loved your feedback on the Premier Yarns Brand!
The new background looks great. The gradient yarn is beautiful and look forward to seeing it worked up. Most of my yarn is 4 weight, but as I've become more experienced I have been looking to try the DK weight.
I love the new location for filming. The shelves are totally beautiful. Well assembled! Premier is one of my favorites, I’m glad you didn’t have to pay that extra shipping. I have the new Gradient yarns too. Red, grey and sky. So soft and lovely! 🙂
Hi Gary! The shelving looks great! Very nice yarn haul from Premier. I really like the green gradient cake. I love how you precisely pick your colors. It's like we can see your vision through your expression when you hold the colors together. I'm really looking forward to seeing the mosaic project you're planning to make with the mandala yarn and gradient cake. Thanks for sharing! 🤗
I see a bunch of yarns behind you that go with all of your premier yarns.❤❤❤ love all purples that lean to the red. 😅 I find that dk yarn has a nicer drape.
Ooh the ravelry link took me down a rabbit hole, I really liked the woven look throw from mama in a stitch, lovely! Only my hobby is crochet and that is a knit pattern. I might just have to learn…thank you Gary for the inspiration!
Hi Gary. Getting to watch this first video. I live in Pennsylvania near Philadelphia, so I don't always have the chance to watch your videos in my time zone. Thanks for the interesting message. I'll be sure to watch next live or recorded video. Have a great weekend 😀 Barbara O.
Hello Barbara - So wonderful to meet you. I hope you are enjoying your summer. The nice thing about these video posts is that they're around to watch whenever you're ready. I look forward to learning more about your crafting and what yarn you like to use.
I love the new yarn wall. Back in February I purchased some relatively inexpensive modular storage cubbies off Amazon, which came in packs of flat 12" square panels that click into the grooves of little plastic connectors to form stacked cubes. Getting my yarn out in the open was the best thing I have done in terms of getting my collection visible, easily accessible and making it easier to shop my stash, gauge my inventory and select yarn pairings for projects. I hope you have a similar experience with your new shelving.
Hi Gary, great job on the yarn wall! So many pretty colors of yarn. Fingers crossed🤞 that the next time you place an order they won't charge extra. Some really great yarns. Can't wait to see what you create with them.
Hi Gary! Love your yarn wall😍I loved all the yarn especially the green..my favourite color too😀I had a yarn package shipped by dhl from Germany to me here in Newfoundland & I was surprised I didn’t have to pay any extra money! I had it in a week…couldn’t believe it got here so fast!!
Hello Lori - this is a good story to read about third party courier shippers not billing. They must be getting their money from the yarn companies, which is awesome for us customers.
Hi Gary,Loved seeing Pixel 🐾 Your yarn wall looks awesome 😊My favourite colours are blue and pink and I enjoy working with worsted weight yarn and sometimes a # 3 weight.Any smaller or bigger bothers my hands. Nice seeing you…take care.😊🧶💙🩷
Gary, I love the new wall. I am amazed at the amount of yarns you have! I worry about my stash which would only fill maybe two largish boxes and I know I want to use a fair bit of it before indulging in buying more. But there’s so much wonderful yarn out there, including what I see on your videos, especially the gradient yarns, so I think I’ll keep buying, lol.
Hi ozgirl45 - please don't worry about your yarn being in two large tubs. We work with what we have and that differs from person to person. Many of these yarns I have are from wonderful people sharing and I needed to see their gifts.
Your premier yarn review was so helpful. I just received an order from little knits of a beautiful heathery smokey blue/brown wool worsted weight yarn by Ella Rae. A really super sale! Soon to become a comfy sweater.
Hi Gary ! Oh stop ! You look very fit ❤. But I do get it. 😂😂 Every time I move it’s like Snap Crackle Pop ! 😂😂 Love the yarn dying to try it ! ( The Gradient yarns ) Ty for sharing !! ❤❤❤. Love 4 weight yarns but also can wrk with 3 weight yarns.
Hi, Gary. I love the new shelving and filming location. it is great seeing all your lovely yarn as a backdrop. I generally use 4 weight yarns but have recently been interested in using 3 weights, particularly for mosaic as I suspect it would be less thick looking than the 4 weights. You got a lovely selection of colours in your package - the purple really stood out to me.
@@urbanyarn Hi, Gary. What was recommended to me was Premier Basic DK and I find it fairly soft. Others I have in my stash now are Caron Skinny Cakes and Mary Maxim Mellowspun which are also both nice looking yarns. I haven't actually tried them yet but will be doing projects with them in the fall probably.
Great purchases, thank you for the reviews. Can’t wait to see your makes. I haven’t ordered from Premier yet, but that gradient is lovely. I never mix weights or even brands in fear it will wash up different and ruin the look.
The Great Wall of Gary! And I see some of your amigurumi peeking out for the camera. You'll love mosaic crochet. I still have to check out your page. Your fave is also mine. I have yet to try out antipiling yarns. Would work so well for blankets. Take care.
I also saw that Mandala has gradient now too…I want to try them both. Your yarn wall is really nice. I see your make for the mood board hanging behind you.😍 I like Basix DK too. It’s nice to work with and it is pretty soft. I’m doing a Summer Temperature Blanket with it-glad it’s economical yarn because this blanket is a yarn eater!
hi Vicki - you'll have to tell me what you think of the Mandala gradient when you try it out. I'm so curious! You have a keen eye to notice my Mood Board make in the background.
You liked out. When I made an order from them FedEx charge was about $95 on an order of $126US. I have been hesitant to order from them again. Really like your yarn wall.
Oh no Judy - that 3rd party courier charge was extremely high! I am always confused that there's never any consistency, so it makes it difficult to plan. I'm fortunate that this time round I may have escaped those charges.
Hi Gary, I love your new yarn wall also and all its rainbow yarn goodness 😄 Premier is one of my favorite companies to order from...but I'm currently trying to use up stash, so no buying for me!! To answer your question, I do not prefer to knit with very thin yarn because it takes forever. Usually I knit with dk weight and higher, and crochet with all weights but especially the thinner because bulky can get too bulky when crocheted. just my opinion. Great to see you today :)
ooooh the backdrop is new... love love love it! I do love Premier, but, if I want those yarns on sale, the shipping for my country (Serbia, Europe) is the axe that doesn't complete the purchase. absolutely love the gradient cakes from Premier. I love to work with 1 to 4weights yarn, with larger hooks (larger then 4mm) and yarn, my hands become painful. That doesn't happen with the small hooks and small weight yarns.
Hi Sandy. Thank you for letting me know your preferred yarn weights. That pairing with the larger hooks is a great idea for those items that sing with wonderful drape.
Hi Gary. Love your yarn wall. Really like the yarns that you got. Like the shades of purple. I have not been in a crocheting mood for awhile. Mainly doing g reading g and diamond painting Have had some virus got rid of it and it came back. My mom was sick and she passed July 2. Plus taking care of granddaughter while school is out. Hopefully Sept will let me do more. Usually use either3 or 4 weight yarns.
Hi Sue - I'm so sorry to read about your mom passing. You are in my thoughts and I'm sending condolences sweet friend. Take care and the time for crochet will return.
@@urbanyarn thank you Gary. She lived just down the road most of my 56 married years. I have caught myself thinking many times things I wanted to tell her. I am doing some crocheting but not like I use to.
Good afternoon, my yarny friend! Sorry, I miss Hank! I enjoy seeing your makes for him! Shelves look great. Terrific job! I can appreciate the smoky shades. My comfort zone weights would be a 3 or 4.
Hello Judy - Hank had something on him that's a bit of a secret make - well for now at least. He'll be making an appearance again soon. Thank you for letting me know that you're happy using either a 3 or 4 weight.
Hello Lori - this is good to know regarding shipping. I must of spent over a certain amount online (I just checked premieryarns.com and it's free shipping to Canada when you spend over US$100). Although I'm not entirely convinced that DHL wouldn't send their bill.
You were lucky to get the gradient yarn. I tried to get some but the only color they had left was blue. They were out of stock with the other colors 😅😅
Hello Gary In the intro- is this the same lake as the one that was frozen in the winter and you could ice skate on it? It looks like a painting 💚. Pixel is so grown up ❤. Love the yarn wall and the yarn haul too. You have chosen really exciting colour combos 😍. Enjoy the weekend !
Hello friend! Good question about the beautiful water scene in the beginning - it's a different place as to the lake we walked on in winter. This spot was on a river only 10 minutes drive from our place. Thanks for the compliment on the yarn wall! I had a great weekend - hope you one was enjoyable too.
I tend to prefer 3/DK. I’ve mixed weights but it was not something planned more, needing to adjust because of yarn chicken or not liking how two yarns go together that I did pick. I don’t keep a large stash of yarn, so make do. I tend to work in wool. Do explore others, but yah. The shelves look wonderful. Hope you get some rest!
From this ole chicken...I understand..lol Your background looks awesome!! nice yarns. I prefer working with #3 and #4. Pixel enjoying a dip...how about you guys?? Water warm or cold? Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Hello LindaMarie - It's warm enough for us to all go into the river and the water is tolerable (refreshing), but on this day we didn't join Pixel. I do have some footage in my next few videos where we all are in the water. You don't see us though - just our wonderful superstar dog.
If I remember correctly, Angela from My Precious Yarnery said something about Premier maybe, having a warehouse outside Toronto? That would explain the shipping situation. I just can’t find that video or anything online. Fingers crossed 😂
Ohhh - that would be so great if it came from outside of Toronto. I'll take a look at my tracking and let you know where mine came from... looks like it left from Charlotte North Carolina in the USA.
Hi Gary, This was the first time I watched you thanks to Crystal BOD🥰I enjoyed your Premiere yarn information. I hear the premiere soft will be equal to the DK weight feel? I subscribed to your channel and will look forward to more info from you😃
Hi Gary, my first time watching you. Crystal from Bag O Day highly recommended your channel, so I thought I would check it out. I subscribed love your yarn shelves. I so need them also.
Thank you for the tip on the Premier Sale. I'm going to wait for the Gradient to come back into stock before my next purchase. (That'll be well after the sale is over).
I am an Aberdeen fan and I got the newsletter of the sale - but I'm no where near to their physical store. I wish I were. Are you around that area to visit them?
Funny you should ask me that - I was very good last year in keeping a log in a book regarding projects, but unfortunately sometime early this year I stopped doing that. How about you?
@urbanyarn I just purchased a student planner on sale to begin in August. My plan is to use labels to cover or rename things. Xmas in July got me thinking like August could start a new crochet year for me. 🧶🧶📒✏️🗓🖍🤞❤️

Absolutely - I'm looking forward to using the Anti-pill yarn in the blanket!
I also saw that Mandala has gradient now too…I want to try them both.
Your yarn wall is really nice. I see your make for the mood board hanging behind you.😍
I like Basix DK too.
Love the shelfs
Yay! Thanks Luanne!
I used Premiere basics for my temperature blanket last year!
Just catching up here! Off to pick yarn for the Woven Blanket!
Hi Sablelou - I hope that you got your yarn for the Woven Blanket you're making. Always nice to find new yarn for a project.
I like the shelving. I should do something similar instead of holding all my yarn in tubs.
Thank you for the thumbs-up regarding the shelves.
Hi Amy - I do like to use the lighter weight yarns in crochet too.
Thank you for letting me know a little more about what yarn weight you like using.
ooooh the backdrop is new... love love love it!
Mainly doing g reading g and diamond painting
Have had some virus got rid of it and it came back.
Hey, Gary!
Hi Beverly!
Pretty yarns!❤
Yay for pretty yarns!
@@urbanyarn ooh so intriguing!
Hi Gary. I ordered 9 cakes of the premier gradiant in June. I spent $83 us . I paid $35 shipping. I live in Victoria bc
I know MarieLucas - I was surprised how quickly they sold out of all the other colours. Cross fingers that they restock them soon.
Hello Gary
In the intro- is this the same lake as the one that was frozen in the winter and you could ice skate on it?
Thanks Cheesegoddess for letting me in on your fav yarn weight to use. DKs are on my fav list too.
I subscribed to your channel and will look forward to more info from you😃
Hello and welcome Michelle! Crystal is amazing and so gifted.
Hi Gary, my first time watching you. Crystal from Bag O Day highly recommended your channel, so I thought I would check it out. I subscribed love your yarn shelves. I so need them also.
Hello Texasdimashdear! I'm glad you've introduced yourself and are trying out my videos. Crystal is such a wonderful person!
Love the honesty. SUBBED! So.... your postal(?) service holds you mail for ransom?
Hello there - thanks for your message and subbing. I appreciate your support.
✴
Premier having big sale. Himalaya Norway looks like a yarn I think you'd like.
Thank you for the tip on the Premier Sale. I'm going to wait for the Gradient to come back into stock before my next purchase. (That'll be well after the sale is over).
I am new from RI
Hello Croknifty! I'm super happy that you introduced yourself.
Are you an Aberdeen wool fan ,yard sale at there place in Fenllen Falls Ontario Canada Saturday July 27 10:00 till 2:00 cash only
❤
I am an Aberdeen fan and I got the newsletter of the sale - but I'm no where near to their physical store. I wish I were. Are you around that area to visit them?
@@urbanyarn yes less than an hour we are going tomorrow
My wife and I watch you all the time. We love your channel 🤩
😊hello Gary!! Hot 🔥 here
Stay cool Joanne!
Hello!
Do you use a paper planner? To organize or keep track of projects?🧶🧶❤️❤️⭐️⭐️🐕
Pretty! I can't wait for mine. I wish I had known, I would have used your link. Next time, but I really have to add more shrlvibg in my quest room 😅
I seexyou have Jimmy Beans on your list. I live about 10 minutes from their only brick n mortar store as well as their massive warehouse. See, you need to come to Reno 😅❤
You are so lucky to live close to Jimmy Beans!
