These came in just in time, I’m struggling at this part of my learning (cpt in general is taking me longer to grasp) but e&m threw me for a loop. Thank you!!!
So am I. I have already extended my course by two months and am determined not to have to do it again...then came the E & M Chapter....Best of luck to you - at least we're close to the finish line.
@@kimmyjoe59 I’ll be graduating from this program I’m in to get associates degree in medical coding and billing, what happens if you don’t past the first time?
@aaronparson5768 the course I took through my community college covered two tries. So if I would have failed they would cover the cost. After that I would have to pay out of my pocket to take it again
I coded 2023 DOS for the first time today..... ED charts. Wow! I used to enjoy leveling E/M's. Now? Not so much!😵💫 My employer did provide rather extensive training to all coders and auditors and we had to pass an assessment (with >90% accuracy) before being allowed to code 2023 DOS. I am looking forward to your upcoming videos on this topic.
Excellent video. Can you please break down the guidelines for 2023 E/M, also can you please discuss scenarios that would support each level of MDM,/discussion of each level. Would also love to see the dx coding aspect too in the case studies. Thank you 😇
These videos help me so much Im in a online medical billing and coding class and feeling lost on some things. You are my real teacher ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. Thank you
I'm working on an exercise pertaining to anesthesia. Question I have is code 99100 for age was attached to a case where no age was stated. How do I know when to add the 99100 code to case when theirs's no age listed? Thanks for all you do Victoria. You are very helpful to me in the process of learning this unique language. Thanks Karen
So how do all these skills carry over to a real life position? Does it really depend where you are? Do you just walk into an office and take it case by case and if you're in a doctor's clinic then pretty much your entire day would be e/m coding? Do you ever have to do e/m coding with other types of cpt coding in the same day?
Hello and help Im in school for billing and coding and I need some serious direction and help to get me passed the testing that are coming up for me. Love your videos .
Your presentations are wonderful and a joy to learn from.😊 Would you consider tutorials specific to PROFEE CODING, please? As you know, inpatient professional services/observation care tend to be coded inaccurately..💻. :( Wishing you continued success in 2024 :) 🎊
For a established patient, under the Assesment and Plan- if the provider addressed the status of 3 existing chronic medical issues and evaluated 2 lab result values that was done recently, will that consitute a E&M code of 99214 ? Thanks for the advice
For inpt E/M in category 2, would a provider get credit for reviewing a lab that another speciality ordered? Example hospitalist ordered a cbc and a urologist reviewed the result during their rounds.

Hey Victoria, I'm having trouble finding a definitive answer to this question: Do we code according to the most current guidelines no matter what the date of service? Or, do we keep all our old code books and guide sheets and use the guidelines that were in place at the exact date of the service? I had someone tell me to recycle books and someone else say to never get rid of them lol
I think the end of this video just answered my question---charts are coded according to DOS and keep everything, right? Are both dx and procedure codes all coded according to chart date? Or just E/M services? aaaagggh I'm so confused

Can you do a video just evaluation and management on Emergency department coding
I'll add it on to the list of video ideas.
On the CPC exam we can’t use score sheets, what do we do?
Do we still need to know 95 and 97 guidelines for exams? CEMC and CPMA for example.
On the AMA MDM sheet from NAMAS, it say at the top left corner, "based on 2 out of 3 elements of MDM or time", so can we just use time?
Time is not considered for appropriate level of care code selection
Hi Victoria
Do we still use 95 or 97 guidelines for outpatient office visits?
Only for dates of service prior to 1/1/2021.
Hello mam, there are any book where all cpt guidlines updated given , Please suggest
You can find them in the CPT book.
Could you please make a video on 95 and 97 guidelines?
