My 2010 roof won't open I opened the centre release locking I then removed the cover covering the mechanizm does this part only lock auto when you push the open or close.i still can't open the roof any ideas Trev in sunny cape Town south africa
Hi Trev, It sounds like you may have to visit a BMW specialist I'm afraid! Our module only allows remote control providing the factory roof is functioning correctly. Good Luck.
I have one of these, it’s a 2012, I have to press and hold the unlock button on the remote to open the roof and it drops all four windows. It doesn’t close the roof though, you do that when you get back in the car, so I’m guessing that’s what this module is for, remote closing?
I have the 59 125i basically the car in the vid. How I open the roof remotely: press the open button once to unlock the car. Press and hold the open button to trigger the roof open. Open button must be held down until roof is fully open. How I close the roof remotely: press the open button once to unlock the car. Press and hold the close button to trigger the roof close. Close button must be held down until roof is fully closed. Could be that you don't have to put the car in the open state first (first button) this is just the way I do it as I'm approaching the vehicle.
You forgot to mention that the convertible top storage in the trunk needs to be down. Otherwise, this feature does not work. Otherwise, this is a great tutorial.
I've an E82 (hard-top of this) and I'd like to open the boot when the engine is running - handy for airport drop-offs.
