Ya some of it depending where it grows smells really terrible Years ago it was used for pretty much everything. When it dries properly it’s fairly hard. It’s been used for furniture lowboy decking. And a lot of sawmills cut it the make caskets
Thank you. Cottonwood is tough to get anything usable from. There’s a lot of shake This order is being shipped to the states it has to go through Chicago so the entire load truck and trailer can’t be over 80 000 lbs and that wet cottonwood is super heavy

How long have you been sawing? You seam to quite experienced. Doing a good job.

Ugly logs on the outside, but some pretty nice cants coming down the back end of the mill though. Nice bit of sawmanship and attention to detail.

log was a total waste of time
Sometimes they are can’t tell what they are like until there opened up
Also gotta remember it’s a pallet mill a very large quantity of the logs are complete junk borderline firewood some worse than firewood lol.
