Travel is so important to perspective as a black person. It gives you more insight into your humanity, considering America strips you of it. I've lived on 3 continents, lived in 4 countries (Senegal being one of them) and 5 cities. Learned 5 languages. I traveled as a kid and adult, and now I get to take my children and husband. They've been everywhere and it's such a beautiful experience to share!
Thank you, I traveled a lot (Dakar as well) and that’s exactly how I feel, specially as a black man.
Same here. Lived: Continents(Europe, Australia, USA) cities (Austin, NYC, Prague, Barcelona, Melbourne, Berlin) I makes me so sad to see/hear other black people who are full grown adults who interact with the entirety of the world using the same lense of where they were born.
@@damd2999 gotta love Senegal! 🖤
@@JH-wl4yy yeah, but I never blame them because the marketed messaging in America is soooo strong. It's melatonin to the mind, especially to the fear-based black mentality.
Why do you have to be black for it to be important? U can’t just be a regular person? Why do you feel the need to be accepted by the white man? I’m just curious as a fellow person of color, help me understand your view of it, is it the obvious dark history of the white man once owning black folks that the need to get back at them or show them WE CAN DO WHAT YOU DO? Please I’d like your insight
I love how envy and Angela vibed with her. This was such an authentic interview. I smiled the whole time. I love her adventurous spirit ❤️ 🇿🇲
Respect to this sista but she's LYING...
She is not the 1st Black Woman in contemporary times to travel to every country.
It's a Black American woman named Woni Spotts who has been globally acknowledged for completing this journey.
100% agree...!!! I was smiling the whole time also. It's such a great interview...!!!
@@victoru918 It is also stated that she never visited Syria because of the internal conflict that going on in that country right now.
Except she’s a liar
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” Mark Twain
Traveling to all 195 countries in this world....Now, this is goals! 🙌🏾❤
woni spotts did it first
Exactly Woni is the first Black Woman to do that... that's been known for years.
They are shameful in these lies.
@@victoru918 perhaps modern one
@@voiceofreason1373 No...
This female in this interview is LYING... and obtaining a claim she has not accomplished.
Woni Spotts is recorded in completing this journey just this last decade.
Type her name on goggle, but I know you won't b/c she's a Black American, and I can presumably assume you have an issue with Black Americans.
Just my conjecture.
Maybe they mean after 2000 this is the first BW to do it! It’s not a competition 🥱 You can still celebrate both
As a 43 year old black Jamaican woman who have been to 30 countries and my aim is to visit 50 before my fiftieth birthday ❤️ 🤔 she is my spirit animal 🥰🎯🎯 #sidenote in my experiences navigating the world travel is more about proximity than its about money 🎯 I live in Germany and it's very easier to navigate 🎯 when I was living in Jamaica it was much more difficult even though I made more money 🤷🏿♀️
That's great you've found encouragement in this woman's explorations but...
She is not the 1st Black Woman to travel to every nation/ country & territory. It's a Black American woman named Woni Spotts who has been acknowledged in this by completing this journey just this last decade. She's recognized and known for this achievement and has countless interviews and articles written about her especially one's in the UK.
@@victoru918 Its not about who did what first...you missed the point by a whole mile
@@victoru918 there is no proof
I am a black woman who travels frequently abroad with my family she is so right, some people ask question and stare because they are curious to learn about black people not to be racist ……. If you travel with an open mind you will have an amazing time👌🏾 Great interview 👏🏾

keep in mind in many of these coyntries they see two types of blacks. black immigrants from africa and black westerns from either england or america. and usually they can tell. so they tend to engage certain types of blacks. as they know american blacks have more to fier them than say one from ethiopia or anywhere in africa or asia
I visited Venice and some people were fine and I remember this one woman looked at me and made a sound of digust at my big afro. I'm sorry long prolonged stares and stern body language is not a good sign. You can tell when people are curious about you or you're being stared at with an aggressive attitude. Italians and Spaniards are very guilty of this and I've been to Barcelona as well and seen it. It's like dealing with white people in the US who rarely see black people and don't really want to. London and Paris are fine I much prefer to travel to multicultural cities or at least places people are half way decent about people who don't look like them. I'm not looking for the welcome wagon but hard stares are not necessary and I stare right back.

Haiti is one of the places us black should go since that was the first free country and we our the closest who still keep the African tradition... Haiti is full of beautiful places that the media doesn't show and the beaches are gorgeous . It's a lot of history there especially haiti helping some of these other country
I’ve been! My son is half Haitian so I stayed with his family in Petion-Ville.I tell everyone how blue the water is and how beautiful the architecture is. This was before the hurricane. I’d love to go back an explore more.
You do realize they’re kidnapping people there.
Unfortunately, you are making a generalized statement about African traditions. The continent of Africa is composed of 54 countries. Within each country is a diverse group of tribes, languages, customs, beliefs etc.
I am married to a Ghanaian who is from the Ga tribe. Our surname/last name is both Ghanaian & Hebrew. They are Hebrews who believe in God/ Yahweh. They left Egypt with Moses. Their customs, beliefs, traditions, foods reflect their Hebrew heritage. The paternal house is of the priesthood. Those that strayed away from God have become part of what is called a fetish. So, the belief & generalization that idol worship, voodoo, witchcraft, Ra, Horus, Hotep, or even Islam/Muslim is the "original" belief or religion of the continent of Africa is INCORRECT!
I have traveled to all 52 states by my 52nd birthday. While I was pursuing my doctorate, I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain for two weeks. Now, I am ready to travel to other countries and islands.
I am so happy to see all of these beautiful black women enjoying their lives and travelling the globe. I plan on a trip to Central America later this year and cannot wait!
who are all these black women traveling?

I am almost 50, and spent majority of my life 'trying to figure out what I'm supposed to be in life'. After finding that life is not a destination, and started focusing on just being present, I found that all my life, whenever I'd travel, that was my zen, and happiness. What she has accomplished is what I've always been saying since I was in my 20's. Now, I'm going for it. Children are grown, so now I get to live my nomadic life.

She is very right about Senegal the country is beautiful was there for over a month during the pandemic in london last year was so inspired even set up a food store there. Travelling opens your eyes and you see opportunities even in business you never thought possible. good on her 😍😍 love to see black women living their best life 🙏🏿 Travelling has changed my life .
Senegal speaks to my soul too. I love how (darkskin) people over there are proud and unapologetic of who they are.
My time in Dakar was mostly hostile. As soon as I started speaking with an “American” accent, mostly everyone I encountered wanted me to buy something. Most did not want to talk or build about anything…the vibe was very odd.

Wow her top 5 must visit places included 3 of mines as well. Japan, Mexico and Cuba. I’ve only been to 37 countries so far my goal is 100. And she is so big on Senegal that’s probably the one African country I’m excited to visit the most. Never been to Africa or Southeast Asia or Middle East yet. But she is a legend in the travel game been following her on IG since 2017 when I got bitten by the “travel bug”. This was a fun interview to listen to. Hope it inspires a new generation of travelers to get out their and see the world! ✊🏾 we need more representation

Years ago my son wanted me to buy him some Jordans and I told him you know if I have to buy you some Jordans I have to buy some for the whole family which would have totaled to about six pairs of shoes that day I told him you know what I'll make a deal with you I will take you on a cruise and show you the world and you can get you some shoes from Walmart that year I took my wife and three sons on a cruise to Jamaica and we have never stopped traveling outside of covid and my children no longer asked me for expensive materialistic items they always ask to travel the world. Travel is the best cure to get over racism. There are a lot of people in America that just refuse to leave this country, spend time and explore.
Miss Nabonga said something that surprised me and I'm not one to be easily surprised. She said that Mexico is a good travel destination. What??? Maybe it is...never been there.
