6-6 is the floor imo. 8-4 if we’re lucky with losses against OSU, UM, Oregon +1 more that I can’t pick yet.
If you realize what happened to MSU last year, losing the starting QB and best player to the portal at the last moment in June, then losing their coach early in the season, and the predictably low morale, combined with the toughest schedule in the country, you would understand why the Spartans underachieved last season. Now with a new coaching staff (coming in as a nearly complete unified group, not assembled piecemeal), with their own track record of not just success, but overachievement), the vibe among the players seems to be buzzing. This will be a sneaky good team.
That said, Ohio State will likely score another blowout, so that should be in red. But look carefully at the Oregon game-MSU will be limping in at 2-3 or 3-2, unranked coming off a blowout loss-do you think Oregon might be looking ahead to the BIG Ohio State matchup the next week, which will likely determine the B1G? Do you think the MSU coaching staff knows how to prepare for Oregon? Make that game orange.
And Michigan lost a lot from last year. Maybe they can reload, but this is a rivalry game-at worst, Yellow on your scale. I’m not convinced Maryland will have significantly better talent or coaching, so make that white. And Iowa still can’t score, so that’s probably in the 50-50 realm also.
I say 7-5. The floor might be 2-10, but the ceiling might be as high as 9-3.

The game at Boston College will determine if Michigan State will go to a bowl game or not.
MSU 2024 surprise year. 8 wins 4 losses. Better coaching, far better QB, future Heisman, building yes - yet they are bringing and making an effective coaching cadre. Far better OFFENSE. DEFENSE, new DC from MN will make a positive difference for defense as well. More apt to lose one more than to win one more - HOWEVER - iMSU Spartans coming back as potential aggressive spoilers.

Definately rebuilding but a lot of new pieces and unknowns. Could go 5-7 or get to 8/9 wins
7-5 is a decent bet
Wins over FAU, PVAMU, Boston College, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue and Rutgers and losses to Maryland, Ohio State, Oregon, Iowa, and Michigan.
Iowa and Maryland are games to watch out for. If MSU improves a lot under Smith and Chiles like you said 9-3 with losses to Ohio State Oregon and Michigan isn’t unreasonable. Other than those 3 games this isn’t a brutal schedule. No Penn State helps too.

@@BallzDeep666 On the surface level it wouldn’t be but keep in mind this team has brought in a top 30 recruiting class, top 15 coaching staff, and went 4-8 last year and 5-7 the year previously with an abysmal team and staff. MSU is winning 6 games minimum.
