May The Bass Be With You - Vol.2 ARE YOU READY!! I'm so excited to hear what's to come! But first, make sure you go and check out their first upload. Oh and wear headphones!!
What kind of headphones do you have. I find most good headphones pretty uncomfortable. Your look like they might not be as heavy as the other ones I see.
Did you feel me waving back?! Thank you for all those kind words and compliments -- the respect is mutual, and we're thrilled to have you along for this project. Cheers my friend!
@@JenniferGlatzhofer I can see a merch drop here with a T shirt print saying "He looked at the camera" . In all seriousness though I enjoy your fun technical breakdowns as I enjoy Peter's.
Tomi's arrangements are insane, and yet they always work perfectly when you hear and see the end result. Great analysis, and I loved the reactions to all the insanity!
I follow Peter Barber as well, so I've seen his breakdowns and shows of The Bass Gang... Tomi P, the clean shaven fellow has an insane high range... Marwan Ayman, the guy with the almost Bruno Mars type hair, he's like 17! You should check out The Bass Gang's Emperor's New Clothes... it's really a cool arrangement
Love how you can't stop yourself from trying the subharmonics, even though you know you can't hit them. Cracks me up. You have a lovely voice and delightful timbre. Bass ain't part of it.
@@JenniferGlatzhofer You can hit subharmonics if you train seriously for it... and with enough training, you could learn second, third,... subs and could eventually be able to produce very low notes . It's just a matter of dedication. You already have the voice quality and technical foundation 👍🏻 I had already shared videos of women doing subharmonics (to inspire you) but if you wanna actually learn, I recommend Thou Yang's lessons on the subject: ruclips.net/video/oJfP1471Rgg/видео.html I would enjoy watching a video of you doing the auxiliary exercises seriously. That would be very fun 😄
@@JenniferGlatzhofer you can learn how to use subharmonic singing it not that hard, but you still wont be able to come close to their lowest subharmonic notes or even their lowest chest notes!
@@JenniferGlatzhofer If you learn first and second subharmonics in your comfortable range you will be able to drop an octave and a perfect fifth down. if you can sing a nice D4, then you will be able to sing a G2 as a female and impress everyone lol.
I'm also a Peter subscriber so I heard his analysis first, then I cam here for this! Love it! Your enthusiasm, your girl crush (there is just something about a bass-y voice!). I could binge on your vids all day and never get bored 👍☺
Tomi’s arrangement are just so…dense, I think the word is. But good dense. So many layers, so much dissonance and complexity, very dramatic. I always have a system crash the first time I hear one of his pieces. It takes a minute to process what I’ve heard. But I love it. I’m blown away by Marwan-he was a TEENAGER in the last set of videos. Very deep voice but a YOUNG voice. You can still hear it here and there in this, wow, there are some really powerful moments where his voice has a resonance I haven’t heard before. His face has filled out a little also-he is a man now. He was already blowing me away just in his musical skills for such a young man. I can’t wait to see where he goes. That sub at the end-I want to know what note that is. Mortius had Tomi online with him as he did his reaction, so Tomi got into explaining some of his process. VERY interesting. And yes, I agree about Peter-love it when he gets out in the weeds with his analyses. You guys are two of my favorite reactors! Awesome reaction, Jennifer! I don’t think you’ve checked out Volume 1 yet-it’s also pretty awesome.
the quiet, super low, growly stuff you hear on "very very" 7:15 was basically Elliott singing the same thing as Bobby but a whole octave lower. Bobby went down to a D2 chest voice and Elliott sang a D1 chest voice so yeah, peter, in his analysis was right whan he said that Elliott's low range never ends 😂
Peter is also one of my go-to reviewers, with a great technical analysis and a cool style. The Bass Gang is a great addition to the pantheon of RUclips groups that collaborate and make astonishing videos! Love your review Jennifer!
I know that I am a couple years late, but here is a little tidbit at the end courtesy of Peter Barber himself. For the last chord, the notes that the guys are singing are : C1 G1 C2 C2 G2 Marwan is singing thr G2 chest. Bobby and elliot are singing C2 chest. Peter is singing G1 subharmonic. And Tomi is singing C1 using an inhale singing technique. Forget exactly what its called.
Awesome reaction. So much ear candy throughout this. Amazing out front parts, but goodness there is greatness going on behind lead parts. Breathtaking.
You should check out all they have done. Panic in the Disco, Emperor's Clothes, they blend so well, Marwan does alot of the work, each voice is distinct and YET they harmonize so so well. I can't figure it, but I LOOOVE it. Melted chocolate, honey flowing, rich deep coffee.. I can't describe it .. my ears FEEL it... its like listening to AVI... the voices don't LIE... I hope for all of them a great future because together they are AWESOME
That was another fun one! I heard of the Bass Gang relatively recently but hadn't had a chance to listen to them yet. Until now, with you. Wonderful reaction/analysis Jen; as usual. A very different take on Mad World. I liked it. A lot. I'll have to check out their other videos now.
I literally clapped and said "Ah!" when I saw this. I knew you wouldn't be disappointed. I actually listened to this before hearing the actual song. Tomi (the higher singer), Peter, Bobby Bass (not his real last name, BTW) and Marwan (the young one; he's only 18!) are all great in their own right. But together, it's just straight up Bass goodness! May the Bass be with you Jen! Great reaction as always.
I too fan girl over Peter and have that friend feel when I see him outside of his channel. Love your reactions. You are one of the reactors that I search out when it comes to Voiceplay, HomeFree, and Bass Gang. :)
Great reaction as always. Unless I somehow missed it, I don’t think you’ve posted a reaction to any of the other bass gang songs. May The Bass Be With You volume 1 was split between the 4 members’ channels, but their cover of The Emperor’s New Clothes (Panic at the Disco) is on their group channel.
If you have the opportunity to check out the reaction done by Mortius, Jennifer, please do. He has Tomi P with him during his viewing and he provides some really great insights into the thought processes and techniques used in the arranging of this piece. I think you'll enjoy listening, and watching, one of the creators go through it with an audience member, even one who is a singer in their own rite.
As confirmed by Tomi, Elliot has hit a D1 in CHEST. VOICE. WITH HIS CHEST. like wtf how Great analysis as always you make things easier to understand (somewhat lol)
That was a nice relaxation exercise. I'd call it a fun little sing along, but it's not really a fun song. Keep trying the low parts. It's fun watching the attempts. Eventually, something will stick. Good one!
In addition to Peter's reaction, you should check out the collab that Mortius did with Tomi P (ruclips.net/video/fTFIJC6d6CY/видео.html). So much insight regarding the arranging from Tomi, and some very funny moments between the two of them!
I download everything they share. I love their voices. Please reactbto Citizen Queen's version of Never Enough. Their voices are fire. Elliot Robinson did sing with Home Free for a few months before Tim Foust joined
OK Jennifer, you just knew I was going to jump on this when I saw the title! Didn't disappoint! Keep working on your bass notes. You are getting better! I think you're getting cuter too! Your knowledge for one so young amazes me! Definitely one of my favorite reactors! Have a wonderfully blessed day!
Wait wait wait. So I pieced out who Elliot is. I know Peter. Tomi. Bobby. Is that 4th one Marwan? If so he looks a lot less "kid young" all of a sudden. Looks more than 18 now.
I LOVE this group. I've been following Peter Barber for a while, and love his reactions. When he started talking about The Bass Gang, I started listening to them as well. That group is a perfect showcase of how internet can help creators all around the world. As Peter said in one of his Bass Gang reactions, Tomi is in central Europe, Marwan is in Egypt, Peter and Bobby is in the US (different states). People from all around the world in this group, recording very separately, and still manages to get this damn good together. And Marwan being just 17 years old is incredible. If he matures his voice even further, he's gonna be nasty :)
I love all of these talented guys but this feels like a massive flex. It loses the emotion of this beautiful song. Bass they have but I'm a little disappointed in the arrangement. I know this goes against popular opinion. Maybe I'll listen to it some more and see if it grows on me.
