And let’s be honest… the watch is in best form in rubber/resin. You did well by adding/enhancing the lume.
I have one with the gray and clear band. Love it for it’s simplicity and durability.
These watches do not belong in metal cases and bracelets. The examples he showed were garish - strap narrowed too much, faux rivet design in links, WAY too much polish… nope.

This is an iconic watch. There are few watches that make history. Rolex Submariner, AP RO 1972, Casio F91W, DW5000C and now this the 2100 in its various iterations. I have one but the earlier generation metal one without the Bluetooth but it's very comfortable wearable and rugged. It's the only watch I would trust outdoors or in the rains. They have done a stunning job and waiting for a Titanium one in their MRG lineup.

I am very happy with a Yellow G-Shock B2100 - with tough solar --- now modified with parts from Amazon - - - - Great visibility dial, metal cover, customised colour rubber strap.
Another disadvantage of expensives watches -- they are now stolen, off your wrist, in major capital cities in Europe.
A friend visited Cape Town, was warned by his wife about his low cost Rolex, and was then held up at gun point . . .
The big advantage of a resin case Casio - is the local thugs are probable not interested - and no big deal if robbed.
They also wanted his gold wedding ring but it couldn't be removed.
Please go walk-about in Cape Town (with this watch) and report back on conversations with the local thugs . . . 🙂

Casio have the 40th G Shock anniversary next year. I feel for that they should release a titanium 2100 in the MRG line like the MRG 5000. Made in Japan with superior finishing and priced accordingly as a premium model. I feel that model will be a real hit. They can spice up the dial a bit but keep the dimensions same. The use of titanium make it very light and wearable.

At the time I thought I was absolutely insane for paying $500usd for it, but I absolutely love it and think its worth every penny. One of my others is a standard $45 DW5600 with an aliexpress black metal conversion and it is really very good. I like this, but not at those prices. I think it's great to get finally the full metal version. But hey...the price seems to be a result of an product/pricing managers wet dream.
If we compare to the rubber version with bt and solar which costs in germany around 130 Euros, the full metal comes to a price of around 755 Euros(!).
    🤭
I think they not only coppied the look of the royal oak but also the price. 🤭
For this price you can get amazing watches from Tissot, Hamilton, Longines, Seiko, Junghans, FC and so on, or make a full collection of Orient (star) watches.
What also disappoints me is the matt dial which looks actually cheap. Even the solar rubber one has a shiny dial.
Even if the prices will drop in a few month. I'm still not ready to pay a price like 500 Euros.
200 would be perfect. 250 still fine. At 300 I would start to crunch my teeth.

Aside from the price the real problem with these for me is that the bracelet mods look better than what Casio went with here. They just used the same bracelet design from the full metal squares when they had an opportunity to make this look incredible.

I’ve got a Casio GST-B400XD that is full metal, Bluetooth, solar, more legible, and looks better that I found for a lot less. It’s a JDM watch but you can find them on eBay. The styling is a bit wilder, but maybe worth a look if you want similar spec for less.
That said, I like the copper one for some reason. Maybe if the price comes down after awhile.

These are awesome, but the very small negative LCD screens on the 2100 makes them basically illegible unless you are in direct light. I know that's what the light is for, but it's annoying to have to use it even in a decently well lit room. Hopefully they'll make some with a positive display.

Hey Jody, something to consider...As the G's more frequently get bluetooth added into their modules then the more they walk away from one of their prime buying groups; the military. A good amount of military members spend time in environments where items with bluetooth, wifi, etc. capabilities on items are NOT allowed. Lately every time I look at a new G-shock with the ability to connect to my phone I sigh and say "well I guess I won't be picking this one up either."
I wonder if this is something that Casio has even considered.
