I saw one in the shop, tried it on and loved it, weight was good, solar and bluetooth good tech to have BUT the price @ £449 GBP it was probably more than I wanted to pay for a G-Shock. I was probably more interested in the Mudmaster new release which was I think a bit cheaper. However when I got home that afternoon after trying it on I got an email offering 20% discount on selected watches and this was amongst the offers, ordered immediately and arrived a day later. To be honest it has hardly been off my wrist, its fantastic. All my other watches are not getting anywhere near as much wrist time as they were and this is the reason why....
This is the way to do it. Wait for a discount and grab it. It’s got amazing metal finish that many Swiss brands will envy and without the price (even though it is hard for some people to pay this much for quartz)
Just got mine [03/2023]. My dream casioak [GM B2100D-1A] tbh. Price was sub £400 so price is already more affordable now and with the voucher I had my spend was £350. On top of that, 0% int deal means I'm only out of pocket £25 for 12. This makes HELLA sense for my meagre wallet power 😅 Is it worth it? Illogically YES. Logically, as you've mentioned, perhaps only just starting to work at the price I got it for. Am I happy? YOU DAYAM RIGHT. Meaty, shiny and tough. What a watch.
yes for me its incredibly beautiful. when i was buying it, the dealer also took out the MRG blue with rosegold bazel and rubberband version, to compare i would say this black gm2100b looks even better or at least same level as the MRG one, while the casioak only cost like 1/6 from the MRG. what a watch!!
A bit shocked (no pun intended) how most reviewers look at a watch as some piece of fashion, not as a useful tool in the first place. For instance, why did I order GMB2100BD instead of just modding GA-2100 I already had with a new casing and bracelet? Because modding doesn't add Bluetooth LE and doesn't solve the fundamental flaw of GA model having two very weak and tiny SR-type batteries. Nor does it eliminate a rather weak (in the long term) construction element being four tiny screws on the caseback. I don't ask for too much from a watch, just to be tough while not bulky, always accurate with zero maintenance and not fall apart in 10 years under any circumstances. Who is to blame that only not-so-budget Casios can do this, with no shortcuts allowed? Hence, OCW-T200S for full-analog, GMW-B5000D for full-digital and GMB2100BD for combo. A cheaper option just doesn't exist.
This shows the varying consumer preferences. The variances sometimes are very small. Your remark about battery types is spot on. I personally don’t mind what type of battery it may have but the screws like what you said is something I champion. We may differ in those preferences but we enjoy these watches and they’re different configurations nonetheless.
i ordered from aliexpress. it was for a DW-5600 back in the day. now there should be versions for the GM-2100. theres a slight difference in lug hole placement.
I'm going to my local watch shop to try the Black and Silver ones out next week. I prefer the Bronze colour, thanks to the unique look and better legibility. However, I just need to try one and see if it'll look good on my wrist, in terms of fit and usability. If all goes well, I should my very own Casioak soon, the first and probably the last ever one.
@@DesignAtelier Well, my local watch shop let me down big time, and I think I'm not interested in this watch anymore. I still appreciate the fact that it's completely made in Japan, unlike most other expensive Casio watches. I might end up getting a different G-shock in the future, but for now I'm going for a different Japanese brand that also specialises in Solar Quartz watches.
Agree on the price. But the watch is just amazing. Not only good looking but a great machine too, really touch and durable! I have several pieces but this one always looks good no matter the occasion.
Guys let's face it, the only reason we don't think it's worth 500 bucks it's because of comparison with rubber watches, if we compare it to any well recognized diver watch, with a very inexpensive mechanical movement, we would think it's fairly priced, any bottom of the barrel seiko prospex is valued at 500ish bucks, and just so you know I love those watches, if you think that mechanical should be more expensive, let me tell you, basic mechanical movements are not more expensive than solar, bluetooth, highly durable quartz, I agree that eventually it will go down in price a bit, and that waiting is not a bad idea, but I wouldn't say that it isn't worth the price at 550, it's an iconic watch that looks great, I just wish it had a positive display, but i love it anyway, but than again I will wait to drop in price, because it will, not because it isn't worth it.
I have the GA-B2100 with bluetooth and solar, then bought the black metal mod' , and now i have got the 'look-a-like' newest one, be it without the case-imprint, but for €225,- and that is it! Looks beautiful, works like a charm, and the metal is solid and color-tight. No damages after the time i am wearing it. Not at all! So i guess that the mod' is made by profy's!
That's nice, but unfortunately for me, it's missing the improvements and the quality of the stainless steel in the mod kit pales in comparison to the original.
This model is definitely a tough sell. If they throw in sapphire crystal & multiband 6, maybe there's some justification in the value. Right now I just don't see it. Any G-Steel or solar-powered Edifice with sapphire crystal is a much better value.
If there is one person. That could talk me out of buying the full metal version of this watch .. it was you .. I have the ga 2100 brushed steel version and have the gold gm5000 full metal square and have wanted the full metal when it releases but the black solar display and the price point was a big let down .. I would still pull the trigger … but your points made sense. , soo I’ll wait and see .. either get the metal band of the new gmb2100 from Ali express and use my brushed metal ga2100 or wait till they release a cheaper version of the full metal with screws at the back minus the solar .. you think they’d make a cheaper full metal version anytime soon ?
Hey there. I don’t think the would release a cheaper version of the full metal 2100. The gm-2100 line is the cheaper alternative. It’s a matter of defining the collections options and right now it fits the gshock strategy. Ga2100 > Gm2100 > Gmb2100 > mrg2100?
Didn't even have to write all these on your previous vid as a comment, you made a new vid on your own! 😜 Thanks for "my reply" vid Jayson, be well mate. PS Time is on my side, so is Ali... 😉

you know the sad part is that i think G-shock is slowly moving away from multiband. We're getting less and less of the new module without it and having Bluetooth as a replacement. And dont get me started with that new mobile link app that they're promoting with these new models.
@@DesignAtelier whoa! That’d be a bummer indeed, since I love being able to keep the watch on time with the push of an button and without connecting to my phone.

see thats also what i was kinda anticipating. the titanium will have the sapphire glass which is a world of difference even to the touch! maybe time for another video next week for a concept render.
I have great interest to this 2100 series since it was released GA until GM. Just hoping to change the negative display to make it visible. Wondering if it is going to release for anniversary model this GM-B Casio probably in gold colour, when it would be in the market on 2023?
Why would a statement like "rose gold didn't offer enough for me?" is a reason we shouldn't buy? You have the right to not like it but that's not a reason we shouldn't buy.
I understand your confusion. As a watch buyer, I have learned not to rely too much on images and would like to see the actual videos of the watch. This is why Jody and RUclipsrs are valuable to us because they could visually show us the watch in all sorts of lighting and real life conditions. In that sense, I thought I could love it enough to buy it. I guess the color is a bit of a let down to me even though I know many people like this color than a rose gold. (People corrected me it’s copper color actually) As per the reason “we” or “you” should t buy, i enumerated all the reasons that I think why you should buy. I thought those were valid enough. It’s still up to you of course. Unless of course if I’m a totalitarian pirate with absolute rule over all horological pirates in the world. Then yes you should not buy.
@@DesignAtelier fair enough. the other reasons you gave are more objective while this one feels more subjective hence my comment. appreciate you taking your time to respond
It’s true that 200$/€ for the GM-2100 vs 600$/€ for the GM-B2100 is hard. I took advantage of sales to buy my GM-B2100 pink gold at €350, but I wouldn't have taken it at €600... For a gray GM-B2100, you might as well take a GM, as you say
I’m a fan of the AP Royal Oak and offshore designs of course people that can only afford these watches are those with deep pockets 😅. Anyway I started with those AP inspired design so I got the TW Steel CEO David Coulthard edition then after a few years I saw some mods with G-Shock on IG then my wife gave me a bday gift a stealth GA2100 of course 1st thing came up on my head was to make it a full metal AP Royal Oak I loved it btw my wife wants also after she saw mine 😂. The I bought the GM2100 because I wanted a rubber clad type also but after wearing it once it doesn’t feel premium I still like the GA2100 in the full metal mod so I searched for a GM mod then I saw your channel it was very entertaining and I learned a lot specially the differences of the modules and from what model strap can interchange. Now I’m planning for my GM2100 is to get a strap adapter so I can extend it a bit then install an AP rubber strap to make it look like a royal oak offshore.
Thanks for relating that. I always appreciate it when people spend the time to comment on the videos. The GM2100 now has some mod parts available for to fully transform it into a royal oak. I will actually be getting some parts in and will play with them. Hopefully that will come in the next few weeks.
@@DesignAtelier yeah I saw some kits already for the GM2100 but after watching those vids but I thought it defeats the purpose that I bought the already metal case GM2100 then I will change it to full AP (this is just my opinion haha) that’s why I love the video you uploaded the idea you got just by changing the strap to metal 👍🏻 and from there I got my idea of just changing the strap to AP rubber look I just don’t like how the strap wraps around and hugs the wrist from the original gshock strap that’s why I was thinking of adding an adapter 😅 anyway I’ll send a dm on your IG account and send a pic of what I was thinking about haha
Wanted to buy one of these for so long until I realised that it is almost 4 times the regular price. Bought a regular ga2100 instead, gonna use it as is for sometime and then I will use the mod kit.
That's cool, and I do think it's expensive for what it is, but I'm getting one anyway lol The thing is I was considering the Tough Solar/BT version, and you're right I skipped the 2100 to get an upgraded version later. I was seriously about to get the metal cased version (forget the model number), but when I heard there was going to be an all metal version, I thought about it and realized why not just get the one I want, it saves money in the long run. I did find one for $500 rather than $550, that helped It's just too perfect for me. Normally don't get too excited about things I have to get them immediately, but I figure why not get the exact one I want.

if they could have put a sapphire glass on it, it justifies the $600-$700 price tag. if the price drops to $500 below, let's say $400, will be a steal. i'm happy with my gm-2100 and ga-2100 for the meantime.
On the left side, 9 o'clock they removed the dates and replace it with something else. That's a deal breaker for me. I already owned the GMW5000 gold. It's a skip for me. Did got the Ga2100 red for purely want to have. It works. (Both watvhs saved 10-20% in a store. And it's real watchs). Perhaps in 2-4 years let's see what comes out. For now this will be my beater watch. Unless I got gym.
I bought one second hand. 1. Price was 380 USD, would not pay retail price. 2. Can be quite hard to read when it is darker, you have a small lamp to activate though. Lume is not good. 3. Looks more expensive than it is. 4. Great quality, feels well built. 5. Love the look during the day. Summary: Get one second hand if it fits you and you like it. I am happy with it. (Also have a Longines Hydroconquest for reference)
My main grief with these metal gm watches if legibility. On the silver and black ones you can abrel, see both the hour and minutes hands! They did release a sweet blue dial version now but it's hard to find in Europe and still too expensive. This is a 350€ watch at most.

www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003261719061.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.6b8438daDkwfpD&mp=1
This makes HELLA sense for my meagre wallet power 😅
Is it worth it? Illogically YES. Logically, as you've mentioned, perhaps only just starting to work at the price I got it for.
Am I happy? YOU DAYAM RIGHT. Meaty, shiny and tough. What a watch.
yes for me its incredibly beautiful. when i was buying it, the dealer also took out the MRG blue with rosegold bazel and rubberband version, to compare i would say this black gm2100b looks even better or at least same level as the MRG one, while the casioak only cost like 1/6 from the MRG. what a watch!!
I just bought one for £359 in silver. Got a discount through work and went for it. It needs to be resized though but looks very nice.
I have the same collection
How can I get notified when/if they release a 40th anniversary limited edition models for that watch?
You just need to keep checking the sites. I don’t see any real way to notified.
Have you seen parts for a sapphire crystal replacement?
where can I buy a pre-owned casio?
I typically go on ebay
Hey, great video! Where did you get the metal band for the gm-2100?
i ordered from aliexpress. it was for a DW-5600 back in the day. now there should be versions for the GM-2100. theres a slight difference in lug hole placement.
I am going to wait the same as you besides I hate negative displays LOL ...you nailed it mate !!
Nah Jayson man, it's definitely CasiOak. Very enjoyable video as always mate!
The design department at Casio must be working overtime. It's unremitting.
Nicely put thanks
My pleasure
That is true Jayson definitely put on stand by thanks for the video
And yeah there will be a huge limited editions for sure.
Haha never say last. I’ve said that so many times I’ve given up saying it.
Totaly agree with you! Congrats Great Channel

Agree on the price. But the watch is just amazing. Not only good looking but a great machine too, really touch and durable! I have several pieces but this one always looks good no matter the occasion.
Guys let's face it, the only reason we don't think it's worth 500 bucks it's because of comparison with rubber watches, if we compare it to any well recognized diver watch, with a very inexpensive mechanical movement, we would think it's fairly priced, any bottom of the barrel seiko prospex is valued at 500ish bucks, and just so you know I love those watches, if you think that mechanical should be more expensive, let me tell you, basic mechanical movements are not more expensive than solar, bluetooth, highly durable quartz, I agree that eventually it will go down in price a bit, and that waiting is not a bad idea, but I wouldn't say that it isn't worth the price at 550, it's an iconic watch that looks great, I just wish it had a positive display, but i love it anyway, but than again I will wait to drop in price, because it will, not because it isn't worth it.
hello can I have the link for the metal strap that you bought?
i would even pay 200 more to have a sapphire glass, but that's me. some like modded things, but nothing compares with a well build original model.
This is a dedicated man right here.
Love your mod, are you able to link where you get them? I can't seem to see it in AE
What is the watch at 4:44? Do you have a video on it?
Here you go. ruclips.net/video/79wYc4wchXc/видео.html
Are these easy to scratch? The black colour one, does the polish come off with use
Thank you for your opinion, exactly what I thought.
Do you know if (aliX…)bracelet for GA2100 fits well on GM2100??
There’s already some gm2100 specific bracelets. Buy those instead for the best fit.
This model is definitely a tough sell. If they throw in sapphire crystal & multiband 6, maybe there's some justification in the value. Right now I just don't see it. Any G-Steel or solar-powered Edifice with sapphire crystal is a much better value.
If they add multiband 6 it will be a buy for me.
What is tough solar?
Can you advise rose gold vs gold version ? Cant see them in person , need to order only
November 3, 2023
Thanks for "my reply" vid Jayson, be well mate.
PS Time is on my side, so is Ali... 😉
Haha you know i go all out for my viewers, especially all stavros out there. but yeah i know ill have one on the channel as part of my collection. Its a matter of when and how long will it stay in the collection. Right now im pretty much at the tolerance point for these metal g-shocks.
I think I’ll wait. Great video
Almost two years in and I’m still waiting.
Agreed. Plus, I’d like to see it with multiband and an upgraded display, like my G-Shock metal square.
you know the sad part is that i think G-shock is slowly moving away from multiband.
@@MrZanzibar123 in my area, multiband is out of reach. I don’t mind booking to my phone every now and then. But to people like you, I hope I’m wrong. Multiband is underrated but kinda fell out of the mainstream consciousness.
@@DesignAtelier Too bad. Yeah, it's great here, even 500 miles from Denver. I remember that for awhile, the government was talking about pulling the plug on funding for the towers, but I think a lot of scientists protested so happily that didn't happen.
Other advantage to the all black version is the matching side buttons instead of the stock chrome on the 2100's when moding.
I actually saw this here in aruba finally and the finishing it incredible. It’s more dark gunmetal than black. I’m seriously considering getting one.
Where can I find the metal band for the mod swap
Great content, thanks. Can you share the mod kit link? Regards
Hi could you please link a reliable stainless steel mod on ali express, amazon or another site of your choice?
www.skxmod.com
@@DesignAtelier Wondering if you have seen steel bracelets with good finish for the GM 2100 1A? I'd rather get just a matching bracelet since the GM is already steel.
I skipped preorders am going to commit on the black and gold GM 2100 though.
it takes a better man to say no and skip on a g-shock! 💪
I almost bought the silver one but there's too much black on the dial. I wish they would do some subtle steel accents similar to what they did with the rose gold.
Waited and picked up a black one for $285.
New or 2nd hand?
How can you compared a stainless steel band from Casio to some knock off from Aliexpress not to mention the added thickness obvious flaws taking the originality away.
It’s easy. They sorta look the same. Everything else is different.
@@DesignAtelier Especially the quality.
I’m getting a mod kit for the 2100 gab(yellow). I think 🤔 it’s a better value. Best regards
Just found your channel and love your videos!
That metal band of the GM-2100 looks awesome (way better than the ones I could find). Can you please tell us where to get exactly that band?
the materials same with gmwb5000d?
More or less
great review boss!
I have two versions of GM-2100. I was hopping that with this one they will upgrade negative display which would be visible. Since they didn't and the price is high, for now I will pass.
im sure they will release something that we all like enough to pull the trigger and make our wives scream at us and the growing amount of watches in our drawers. until then, its also a pass for me.
Sir san mo nbli ung strap mo for ur GM 2100 …my logo ksi ung mga after market ngaun wla pede pa share san mo nbili?
Eto yung link:

Pero Hindi na ako sure kung may logo yan o Wala. And also there are gm2100 bracelets now. Kailangan mo lang I search.
I have 15 2100 watches, and although I really like the new metal versions, I would rather pick up 5 more resin models.
People are forgetting about the GM2100B4A, the case is a lot bigger than the 1A, please don’t skip that, all red should be okay for everyone. GMS2100 rose gold looks fabulous for the ladies.
I’m going to wait, if they’re ever 300 bucks then that’s when I buy. Great looking time piece
Reeds jewelry has them for 360 plus 50 dollars coupon if you sign up with email. That's 310 dollars
im holding out for a Ti variant w sapphire crystal.. there'll prob be an mrg version, but, the 2-3x cost increase over the Ti isnt worth it to me
see thats also what i was kinda anticipating. the titanium will have the sapphire glass which is a world of difference even to the touch! maybe time for another video next week for a concept render.
@@DesignAtelier yes, concept! Please do your amazing concept rendering! You my friend are Awesome and the best at it…….. 🙂
I already have one but it's weird.. the font is skmei not casio
I just got one for $230!! Then it went back to regular market price! Got it for less than a gab and mod kit!
It might be time to get one!
I have great interest to this 2100 series since it was released GA until GM. Just hoping to change the negative display to make it visible. Wondering if it is going to release for anniversary model this GM-B Casio probably in gold colour, when it would be in the market on 2023?
Any info?
1 year later, no limited 2100 full metal?
Im considering buying the blue rubber strap version for $150 now brand new.
Its a beauty 😍
See? It pays to wait
@@DesignAtelier 100% my friend 👌😉
Great informative video
Glad it was helpful!
Wondering how do you feel for GST-B500D-1A as compare to 2100. Thanks in advance👍
(People corrected me it’s copper color actually)
As per the reason “we” or “you” should t buy, i enumerated all the reasons that I think why you should buy.
@@icyveins-24 all good. I love these kinds of comments.
I have the copper version and I love it.
Just ordered copper from zales, $450 right now.
CasiOak just sounds and feels better
The lack of sapphire glass is disappointing.

But they are not reasons not to buy that watch.. and the rose gold is crazy beautiful.
If it’s not reason enough for you, then it’s a good buy if got one. 👍
The silver is the best looking one imo. My lady gifted the silver for my 37th. It looks sooo good 👍. She got it for $405
Wanted to buy one of these for so long until I realised that it is almost 4 times the regular price.
Bought a regular ga2100 instead, gonna use it as is for sometime and then I will use the mod kit.
I pretty much took the same approach.
The long lug to lug is too much for my small wrist to handle on the mods. I don't care for the full metal version enough to spend $550 on it.
Yup same here. I’m happy to wait with you my friend.
That's cool, and I do think it's expensive for what it is, but I'm getting one anyway lol
The thing is I was considering the Tough Solar/BT version, and you're right I skipped the 2100 to get an upgraded version later. I was seriously about to get the metal cased version (forget the model number), but when I heard there was going to be an all metal version, I thought about it and realized why not just get the one I want, it saves money in the long run.
I did find one for $500 rather than $550, that helped
It's just too perfect for me. Normally don't get too excited about things I have to get them immediately, but I figure why not get the exact one I want.
Hey there! Coming from a guy who dropped over a grand on a titanium gshock, I know how you feel. I’m getting one of these anyway. But I’ll wait to see the 40th anniversary models next year. I’m sure I’ll e homeless gshock aficionado by then.
I like the half metal dial way better than the full metal. Definitely agree not worth the $500. A link to the parts you showed would be nice

Try that
@@DesignAtelier Thank you very much, Jayson. Love the quality and style of your videos.
It's such a luxury watch at an affordable price! It is such a wonderful model and so unique. ITS THE ONLY WATCH AND MODEL THAT OFFERS ALL THAT! I WANTED TO BUY THIS WATCH 3 MONTHS AGO, AND WHEN I FINALLY GOT THE CHANCE TO GET IT HERE IN TURKEY, THE PRICE HAS INCREASED $200 MORE, WHILE I CAN REALLY SEE IT ONLY IN A FEW SPECIAL WATCH STORES.
agreed
I wonder what the 40th anniversary models will be like! That would be awesome!! I need to save up some mad money!
I bought this for Xmas, I like it, it’s hard to read daytime only watch. But I’m overhaul happy with it. Ticks off a box for me.
if they could have put a sapphire glass on it, it justifies the $600-$700 price tag. if the price drops to $500 below, let's say $400, will be a steal. i'm happy with my gm-2100 and ga-2100 for the meantime.

Great summary, Jayson. If they do a yellow gold version I’m there, if not then I’m not….. 👍
oh i think that will come sooner or later.
Yes that’s the beauty of choices from G-Shock. We’re not obligated to buy the next great piece. I’m waiting on a steep discount for one of these too.

Summary:
Get one second hand if it fits you and you like it.
I am happy with it.
(Also have a Longines Hydroconquest for reference)
My main interest is that I’m curious if the full metal would be better for swapping straps?
My main grief with these metal gm watches if legibility. On the silver and black ones you can abrel, see both the hour and minutes hands!
They did release a sweet blue dial version now but it's hard to find in Europe and still too expensive. This is a 350€ watch at most.
You kept referring to Casio as the #1 watch brand … the truth is that Apple now sells more watches than all watch brands combined! Shocking but true.
Watch brand. Apple is not a watch brand. They’re an electronics brand that happens to make a watch. Yup. I know they sell more Apple Watches than all watch brands combined. They’re still not a watch brand.
You do realize that in your mod only the bezel is metal, where else on the GMB2100 the whole case is made with metal?
Yes of course. But most people looking at it won’t know the difference.
yes but it's absolutely not worth the price tag. Paying this much and not even bother putting a sapphire is insane!
@Phil91Lafleur I just got one for $230🤯 kinda wish it had a sapphire, however still totally worth it! (Perhaps I wouldn't pay 550-600) such a beautiful watch!
What is your Fav value for Money Gshock. If only the GM 2100 has a full black version will be great.
