I think RUclips recommended your garden channel because I am really into gardening and that lead me here. I have had the flu the past 2, weeks and your voice and your videos have been very comforting to me. I never realized quilting was so complex. I love quilts and I now want to take a basic quilting class. You are very inspiring and nice. I like you.
I found your channel 3/4 days ago by accident really, I was looking for tutorials....and there you were! I'm 71 and live alone, it's so nice to have someone sitting in my living room talking to me while I'm sewing. Thank you, not lonely any longer. x
Hi Audrey! I’m 66 and live happily alone! My only daughter lives in Italy right now, she visited for two weeks last month. I love watching Kate and her kitties. I’m in Southern California. Take care, message me anytime ❤
I know I found you cause my subscriptions are mostly quilter's. But I realized I love just sewing in my recliner listening to you, seeing the cats and being that I'm more or less homebound now, living alone and really need a cat. Were close in age , I love cats and creating with my hands. I also have daughters. I want to start a channel but not sure where to start. I like your style. The music is relaxing and I enjoy your company. I'm a disabled U S Navy Veteran living in Pennsylvania USA. I wish I had a friend like you. Keep doing you, it works. Thank You for all your hard work. Your living my dream life so its awesome to be able to visit. Country home, chickens, cats, wood burning stove, lots of sewing and crafting. I'm making matching father son flannel rag quilts for my new grandson and my awesome son in law. All hand sewn. Bye my English friend. DanaLynn
You asked how we found you…so my story is that I was looking up videos on how to quilt as you go and of course RUclips brought in all kinds of sewing shows for me to watch and yours was in there. It was the show when you and Anna were finishing up the binding on your quilts, sitting by that beautiful window with the sunshine and You guys were just so sweet and funny and I was hooked! I watch you almost every day unless I’m out running errands or spending the day with my husband. But you’re in my sewing room all the time when I’m sewing. I love watching you, I love all the beautiful colorful quilts that you make. I love watching you in your garden with your goose, in your cabin, in your treehouse. it’s just so relaxing and fun to watch you. Thank you so much for being there! Your friend from Tucson, Arizona USA❤
I was searching “kawandi quilting “ on RUclips and it showed numerous tutorials. Once I found you, I now like doing my hand sewing and knitting while listening to your videos. It’s kind of like being at a friends house and quilting together. I feel comfortable in your home as it reminds me of my house. I love your cats. I live in Arkansas and I love your accent cause I can understand you perfectly.
Hi I'm from Malaysia.. l came across your channel looking for quilting tutorials. I love your ways. You have become my companion. I love your English, being schooled in a convent. I have been watching for months now, everyday. It's September 2023
Hi Kate. I am over the moon I found you searching for quilting videos. I binge watch your channel now. You keep me company every day and I found my spot on the lime green sofa. 🥰 Thank you for such lovely content. I am from upstate NY, USA.
Same! I’m loving the videos. I have an unfinished quilt from 30 years ago. Makes me want to bring it back out and finish it! On my to do list for 2024.
I found your channel about one month ago (April 2024). So now I am going through your channel randomly. One of your programmes popped up randomly. Amazingly RUclips got it right for me. You give me a warm comforting feeling. I have also started a Trip around the world quilt as you inspired me. I have been a quilter for about 15 years or more. And a sewer all my life. I would describe your channel as ‘Hygge’. That’s a compliment. A danish word for cosy and comforting. Well done Kate. I can’t believe you have existed for so long without me finding you. I come from Warwick in England.
Linda; you said almost exactly what I would say…RUclips probably picked up that I like to look at sewing/ quilting channels & one day Kate’s Last Homely House was in my feed. I couldn’t resist checking it out & was hooked from the start❣️❣️
I found you through RUclips. I haven’t quilted for many years but I love watching the videos. Like you, I’ve had many hobbies and I’m always looking for something to get me going or keep me entertained. You certainly do that! If I’m feeling a little down, I sit on the lime green sofa and you are the friend that’s just dropped by for a cuppa. So with a cup of tea in one hand and freshly baked cookies (sourdough thumbprint and shortbread at the moment) you are my company. I emigrated with my family to Canada 50 years ago, settled on Montreal island but moved off island in the late 80’s, towards the Ontario border, in a small community (Saint- Lazare). Lots of horses and just beautiful. I’ll turn 80 in November and so look forward to our chats. Keep the videos coming Kate, you’re one of my best friends. ❤
To answer your thoughts and questions: I'm from Austria living near Salzburg. Wanted to learn more about patchwork and was searching on youtube - so I found your videos and I'm loving them all. I enjoy to listen to you and hopefully I have time for my first quilting project soon. It's a little bit difficult for me to combine several fabrics together. However, watching your videos give me confidence and I'm looking forward to wintertime when everything's done in the garden and I have plenty of time for sewing 🎊 thanks for sharing your life and experiences with us. Your so great and your quilts are wonderful! Thank you 🥰
This is 2024 and I found your videos by accident. And I love them. Such a wonderful channel. You are so gentle and so easy to listen to. So I am going back to the beginnings of your videos. So glad I hit upon this one and the story of the green velvet couch! And bits about your family!
Kate, Kate, Kate, we love you JUST THE WAY YOU ARE don’t don’t don’t change a thing! Truly, you are what I needed to feel brave enough to start and keep going!!!!
❤ I love your unscripted ways and how you don’t worry about your cat or your hair. It’s like listening to an old friend. I found you a couple years ago I think. I turn your channel on when I’m sewing on the machine or hand sewing or just want to hear a story. You make me smile. Thankful for you Miss Kate.
I found you in the spring 2023 via RUclips. I had been searching for different quilt patterns and watching videos by other quilters. And it suggested one of your Advent videos. And down the rabbit hole of The Homely House I went! I think I binge watched every video from you that I could find. And I talked about you on Facebook and in the American Sewing Guild and to my friends and my loved ones. Last summer was a busy work summer for me (this summer is even busier) and your videos and garden videos and cooking and the loom weaving and .... were a breath of fresh air for me. I love how you teach as you do so naturally! I love seeing you with your family and teaching them - seeing John quilt was a blast! So I am grateful that RUclips led me to you and your homely house. I retire in 15 months and then I will get to rewatch your videos all over again so I can make a string quilt and a Terry quilt and Project Linus and flying geese and .......
I’m 71 years old living in Bonita Springs, Florida. I love quilting, piecing all of it. I turn you on and go about whatever I’m doing. You’re a friend sewing with me. Thank you.
Hi Kate! I feel like we are birds of a feather. Every time you talk about having many projects going on and working on them when you want to, when the time is right, I feel so much better! I too have a project going in each of my interests, so that I can switch to something different when I need a change of scenery. Lately I have been enjoying watching your videos while I work on a quilt. Which brings me to how I found your channel- I was watching videos of different brand sewing machines at the end of 2023, trying to decide which machine I was going to purchase, and your video popped up of you and your son setting up the Juki. I fell in love with your style. You have an inner beauty that shines forth, sharing your joy of color, texture, family and spreading a little love with each video. Thank you for being you. Alice from Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania
It was just my good fortune to find you all on my own while on RUclips. I’m 83 and haven’t made a quilt in at least 25 years. Since watching you now for the last 3 months. I have made 3 quilts and go to a local quilt store in Walpole, MA. I’m so glad you introduced me to Kaffe Fassett! I love your lovely family and I think you’re so kind and gentle with your cats! We’ll, thanks again for the gift of making room for me on the lime green couch☕️. I’m also a Patrion member. Thank you. Jean
Just found you 3 months ago. I was watching The Quilt show by Alex Amderson and yor channel popped up. You remind me of my roots. My granothers family was from Wales. Anf she sewied smd crocheted. I like it because it is real, and as I am single I like having someone to listen to besides my pets. It also helps me be motivated. Thank you. Just nice that you are you.
I am addicted to your programme. Iuv all the things you make.I have been sewing since I was 5 years old.Watching my Norwegian mother who was a seamstress.I believe "great minds think alike"& I just luv to hear you talking.Good luck with your online shop.I received an order from your shop and was amazed at how beautifully it was packed.Have to get more!! Luv from Ingrid X.
I clicked on a Pinterest post totally unrelated to what I was looking for. You popped up, and it was about quilting, so I popped over to it, and there you were with the cats barging in. ( I have a female rescue Tuxie). My son grabbed her as a 3 mo. old in the wild. I've been hooked on your channel and cats ever since and hope to do a paper pieced quilt in the not so distant future. I'm relying on you!
I found your video while cruising through the layers that happen when we follow a trail. I watched you open the suitcases holding your Mom's quilt tops. I felt like I was visiting with a dear friend and that captivated me more than instructive quilting videos. At 67yo I still work full-time at night for 7 days in a row. I'm a nurse that use to do ER nursing, but now works in an office position. I quilt a bit on my days off. I've made quilts for friends, coworkers and family. I wish I could have time for visits like this. Such a lovely neighbor friendship. So enriching. And you fill me with enthusiasm for my quilting. Thank you. I live in Augusta, Georgia.
I don’t know if this helps since I’m writing this 4 years after you recorded this. I found you by searching for quilting videos on RUclips and finding you doing EPP with Liberty fabrics. I watched another and was hooked and subscribed. Soon after I subscribed to your garden channel. Now I’m addicted to you. 🤗
My mom moved to my neck of the woods. I’ve ALWAYS loved fabrics and she has opened my eyes to the wonderful world of quilting. I’m guessing the algorithm recommended you because I’ve been binging Jenny Doan. Fun fact: my mom met her at a quilting event in Tennessee and Jenny signed her tshirt. Mother was on cloud 9 and hasn’t left. 🌸🐝
I have been watching Karen Brown from "just get it done" quilts and Donna Jordan fabrics tutorials. Then I just started searching quilts, etc. You popped up one day and have been watchingever since. I absolutely love you, the quilts, the garden, the cats, Agnes's quilt. I've been cleaning out things along with you. I have a goal to make a quilt for each of 5 children and their spouses, plus 9 grandchild. I have 4 to go and they are the most difficult. That's another story. I love all things from England and Scotland. You are at the top of the list today.
I found you several years ago while looking for quilting videos for entertainment.. You were and are a breath of fresh air and so relaxing to watch and listen to. Thank you for being such a great "neighbor" and inviting us all to join you on the big lime green sofa!
I'm a quilt addict and I came across your channel through a you tube recommendation. I was watching Donna Jordan, and when her video was done, the link came up. So glad it did. It is here that I find peace and comfort for my soul. I feel like I have known you for a very long time. Thank You for being down to earth, truthful about the realities of quilting and for sharing your life and all the other amazing projects that you do ❤️
Hi, I typed in quilting in the search bar and found a number of great channels. Your channel came up on the side bar on the right as a possible choice and I have been watching ever since. I like your chattiness and the choices of fabric for your quilts. So many possibilities. Thanks. I am from California and have been quilting for decades. My great grandmother gave me one of her old quilt tops to practice with and have been quilting ever since.
A great channel to check out is Marion‘s World. I think I found you right after I found her channel. I was watching a lot of slow stitching videos and YT recommended her and then it recommended you as well. It’s probably been two months since I found your channel and like everyone here, I love to just sit and stitch with you and listen to you talk about all the things you’re up to and watch you make quilts and other things. I find it very relaxing and enjoyable. And I’m glad to have found the lime green sofa. I’ve also become a patron so I can have even more content and support the work that you do to keep us all so entertained. For the channels I watch every day I always join as a patron because I want to support the work of these creative people who are putting so much effort and time into creating wonderful things for me to enjoy. I’m Just working my way through the old stuff so I always have something fun to watch. Again check out Maruon’‘s World. She has a similar style channel and is also from England and she has the same kind, soft comforting personality. I just enjoy watching whatever she makes but she is extremely creative and talented and does magnificent Embroidery that will blow your socks off. You seem like kindred spirits. ❤
I recently returned to sewing and quilting after 12 years. I love the fact that you do your own thing and don't seem to worry about all the things that the " professional quilters" require for proper quilting. I don't know if that makes sense to anybody. I'm sue and I live in Westbury, long Island, NY. I love your videos
Hello Sue, I just wanted to say I understand your comment about “professional quilters”. I say if you are making a quilt it’s your quilt and you should be the judge (unless, of course you are going to enter it into some huge juried show - then you have to follow the “rules”). I am Margaret from York, Pa. Isn’t Kate a lovely person? 😊
Kate, I love your channel just the way it is. If it ain't broke and all that! What makes your channel special is you. There isn't a thing fake, false or phony about you and I love that. You inspire me to give things a go and to keep on going. You have such a lovely spirit and I look forward to your videos. I've been a member for around a year or so and you were recommended by RUclips. One of your videos was on my Home page. Goodness, I don't even remember what it was about... sewing, I think. I'm guessing sewing because all of the other channels I've subscribed to are about sewing. Also, I love whenever your kids are on... two and four-legged variety! Bless you for taking the time to share your projects, a bit of your life, and your lovely area. Oh, and one of the other channels I subscribe to said that it's important for me to click the like (thumbs up) button. RUclips's algorithm takes note of that and then recommends the liked videos. So, everyone hit the like button!
Agreed! I started watching when you were at about 2K subscribers and loved the all the simple and creative happenings. After long days working for someone in the film industry, ending my day relaxing on your virtual sofa was therapeutic. Just this month, I no longer work for that person but hanging out with you will continue. I know you and your family can see the opportunity for growth in this channel but I thoroughly enjoy just watching you enjoy daily routines. Enjoy your retirement. Please don't fuss too much about providing an excess variety of "tea and biscuits". (This is the first comment I've ever posted on RUclips. All because of you 👍)
Hello Kate, I found you quite by accident a few months ago. I love watching quilting and sewing channels. I feel as though I have known you all my life. You are so down to earth and do creative. I just turned 78 a few days ago. I used to love to work in my yard and in my garden when I owned my home. I live in an apartment and can only garden in pots. My son and his wife plant things for me on Mother's day. I've had a bad back for years and my doctor just diagnosed me with spinal stenosis. I'm very limited to what I can do. I feel as though I'm right there with you when you are doing various projects. I love your channel. I look forward to seeing your videos. I love your cats, chickens, and Eileen. Thank you for sharing your life and experiences with us all. Hugs, love from Nebraska, USA 🇺🇸. God bless you and yours. 😊❤❤
My granddaughter went to the after-school club Jan'23. She sent me a photo, and that was me hooked. I found your channel about story books, so those and calendars are Pilling up nicely. Kept watching you, and I now have bump waiting to go up for my display wall. I don't have time because I have a huge pile of yarn to crochet with. Mosaic crochet is so easy with brilliant results. But quilting has taken over my life. I now have a great stash of fabrics, and until I have made everyone a quilt, the crochet will have to wait. Thanks Kate ,you deserve the RUclips reward and those lovely gentlemen from Norway. How fab was that having them to stay xx❤
I am sat knitting with a mug of coffee and listening to you. It’s like having a friend in the room with me. I don’t know anyone who has the same interests as I do, so it’s really good that I found you. I found you as I was watching other channels on quilting 👍
Hi Kate! Here in July 2024, I found you a couple of weeks ago. You popped up on the right side bar of You Tube. Right now I'm hand sewing a binding on listening to you. It really makes the time go by faster. Thank you!
I’ve only recently started watching your UTube channel. It was the name you chose that drew me to it. Then I could not stop! Your cats are fascinating! I love watching them to come in and say “hello”. I’ve also stared knitting again. Your program is a bit of fresh air. I love all the crafts you make. You encourage us to start using their hands again. The past two years were so depressing we need the calm back to basics again. AND I’ve subscribed to your Patron channel. Received my first order. I was so excited, and big baby that I am, I started to cry when I opened the package and saw Norma’s photo, I started to cry. However, I’m old (85) so that’s to be expected. I love sitting on the Lime Green Sofa. Thank you, Lovely Lady for making my day lovely. ❤️. By the way, I’m Patricia ! Gordon is my 87 year old husband, married 68 years! PS I’m from Idaho in the USA.
Because I watch quilting videos, the RUclips wizards just sent one of your videos to me recently. I wondered what you were up to, and watched. You are perfectly lovely! I feel like I have found a new and wonderful friend . I live in Somersworth New Hampshire, USA. It is a beautiful state full of pine forests, old abandoned farms and empty fields, mountains and lakes in the north, the ocean 20 minutes from me on the east coast. I lived here all my life and remember when our state was full of family farms and many cows . I am a plump 65 year old lady who used to build wooden things with my son Ben before he died of cancer 2 years ago. I took over his silent wood shop, set up large tables, and started making quilts there. All his machines and tools surround me and I can’t sell them. I have recently taken out an unfinished quilt of my mother to work on. It needs binding, and I know I can do it. She left cut fabric perfect for a binding. I plan to sew some clothes too. And this summer I have to sell some old cars in the back yard at the shop to be able to pay the taxes on the building. At my house, I have milk goats and chickens. And two adult disabled children who are a blessing to me . Coming through grief, quilting is helpful, but everything still seems sad and difficult without my dearest, helpful, talented son. Ben. Thank you for your informative videos and your wonderful conversations. God bless. PS. You are very special, because normally, if someone has a video and starts chatting, I shut it off. They drive me crazy. But not you! Please continue to be yourself and talk about everything. I will share a couple of channels I find special. Zazu’s Stitch Art. Very interesting. And a hilarious channel: Micarah Tewers. I learn the most from Donna Jordan at Jordan Fabrics.
Hi Kate I'm a newbie and found your channel by just putting quilting tutorials in the search engine and watched a variety of video's and then your's popped up Amen. Only problem is that you have kept me up all night watching your video's. I love your video's because they are so natural easy going for this Aussie. Keep up the great work and thank you.
I just love watching you. There is something about you that reminds me of how I grew up and how my grandmother taught me through her casual example. Just sitting talking and creating. Her hands were never idle and she taught me everything she knew Watching you just makes me feel nostalgic, warm and comforted.
Kate .. one of the most I important things about you is your authenticity... I recommend watching a Canadian.. Foresty Forest. He's a fascinating person.. and actually does sew a bit .. let's just say he's film work is worthy of awards.. he's a class act .. climbs mountains with his little terrier .. a lovely person.. I wish I could put a link but...don't know how! Worth a look! Foresty Forest...I think it's so cool you requested us do this.. I will be checking out suggestions here❤
After 56 years on this planet with no interest in craft whatsoever I recently developed an inexplicable and overwhelming urge to learn to sew, quilts or clothing anything in fact and whilst I was looking for simple sewing projects your videos kept coming up on my recommendations, I happened to click on one and that was it, I was hooked and have been enjoying them ever since. I look forward to watching you at night before I go to sleep as you have a calming effect I think it's your friendly chirpy manner I just love it. I didnt watch any other channels before but have subscribed to Arne and Carlos following your recommendation, thanks for that. Keep up the good work Kate a and wishing you well.
I first saw into your channel by accident. I enjoy rehabbing antique sewing machines when I saw you sewing. I stopped and haven’t quit for very long at all. I’ve shared you with several friends, they too, are hooked! Thanks for talking to us!
Dear Kate- I’m relatively new to the ‘Lime Green Couch,’ and just heard your description- ‘pink cushions,’ and the biscuits which ‘never run out’! This might be a quilter’s version of Heaven! I think the first few times I watched you- I felt sorry- as an American, ‘homely’ to us is a totally different meaning! I imagined you at the end of the road, shivering, in a tiny hovel- hardly any light, with nothing but scraps to keep you company! Now- I know better! I’m better versed in what ‘homely’ is in British-speak, and words like ‘cozy, comforting, friendly and lovely’ come to mind! I apologize for my early ignorance! I’m firmly on the sofa, enjoying Kaffe & Brandon interviews, quilt shows, scrappy quilting, color immersion, fabric therapy, new tips and suggestions, but most of all- YOU‼️ Thank you for sharing so much of your life and activities! Blessings and Love! Carole
I'm from southwestern Ontario. I found you via the search engine for quilt ideas. Since my background is British I couldn't resist your homely ways and your love of cats (I have 3 at home and am caretaker for 25 more ferals). I referred you to my sister who is also a quilter and thought she would love to see the countryside and your lovely home. She is addicted now too and looks forward to each new video. Since we are both seniors (83 and 65 years young) we can relate to you. It is just like listening to my Mum and Aunties with their homely wisdoms. Bealtaine Cottage, Fairyland Cottage, Bernadette Banner and your youtube channel are my go to channels for inspiration and just a chance for some downtime listening. You're channel is perfect the way it is. Thank you so much.
Kate you don’t need to change a thing, it’s like sitting having a cuppa with a friend, you’re natural, funny and such an inspiration to learn and try new things.
Found you on a rabbit trail - I was researching blackwork embroidery, then watched The Stitchery’s video about sashiko. Following the research rabbit trail from there led me to your kantha quilt video. Now I’ve started an English Paper Piecing project and am planning my first (two!!!) quilts. Thanks Kate ❤
I have those scissors! They’re Kai scissors! Very good! What a beautiful quilt! 😍 I’m a quilter. I first heard of you while scrolling through quilting videos. I fell in love with your goose, your hens, your beautiful cats and all of your gardening and quilting videos! I’ve learned so much about making pottery, dying fabric and spinning! Your such wonderful person and I love keeping up with you and all of your passions! I just told my daughter that I would love to have Kate living next door on one side and Kaffe Fasset and Brandon Mably on the other side! That would be heaven!
You Tube recommended you in the side bar when I was watching a declutter video, and I watched you declutter and organize your drawers in the big cabinet. I have enjoyed you ever since and have seen your channel grow quite a lot. No terrible music, no fake news, just a genuine lovely lady chatting about this and that while she is making quilts and journals, attending her bees etc. And of course the star Norma.
I just found your channel today and I noticed you were wondering how I found your channel. I live in the US in South Carolina, and a few years back I’ve been learning how to quilt. I particularly like beautiful fabrics by designers like Kaffee Fassett. So I had entered a google search for Kaiffe Fassett quilts and your channel just popped up because you were sewing a variety of flying geese for a customer, which interested me. So I subscribed and I gave you a big thumbs up with a smile😀 and decided to send you a comment to let you know how much I enjoyed the programs I’ve watched so far, and to tell you I think your conversation topics are fascinating! I’ve only watched a few of your posts so far, but I can’t wait to listen and watch them all😀. Keep up the good work...and sew more Kaffe!!!! Thanks for giving me an enjoyable afternoon! xxx Susan in South Carolina
Kate, the name Last Homely House brought me in. You have been my company through this pandemic. Thank you for the visit almost daily. You are so entertaining. I have learned so much.
I found you by RUclips recommendation. You appeared on my side panel thingy. I am steadily working my way through all your past videos and enjoying them all very much. I'm a quilter so I love the fabric videos especially but also the book making, your hens and kittens, anything really. It is like having a friend round for a chat. And as for things you "should" be doing - well I think you're doing just fine. I really like the ad hoc chatting and popping out of view to go and find scissors or glue or something. It's real life! Don't feel inclined to change it too much, i think probably most of us like it just as it is :)
I was watching another channel your videos w ere on the side bar. You cleaning out your big sewing drawer inspired me to do a good clear out at my house. I enjoy your channel very much. Have watched a LOT of your back videos. I'm a 77 yr. old widow of 11 yrs. do a lot of sewing & crafts
Your video on Slow Stitching took my eye, Now you are my newest obsession. I just love everything about your videos, You brighten my day, give me new ideas, and I appreciate it so much. I hope you dont stop your videos, you are a gem. I wish you were my neighbor :)
You have me so laughing at your preparations for filming with your hair and all! You are so gorgeous and so funny and I so enjoy watching and listening to you! Please don't get a script ready that would just ruin everything!
Love your talks. It's like sitting with a cup of tea having a catch up with a sister or dear friend. Just feeling of calm while I listen to you talk. I even go back and watch your videos over again.
I’m just so sorry I didn’t know you when you very first started talking to a camera! I have though found your playlist, so sometimes I just go to the playlist I and select the one right after the last date I know I’ve watched. I can then feel like I’m watching in the same time frame you’re talking ! Thank you, regardless of the date!
Don’t remember how I found your channel. It was awhile ago. I have watched hundreds of channels and sorry Kate but none of them are like yours. You are unique. So don’t have any recommendations. Always interesting, humorous, self confident and the best story teller. Happy to be on the sofa and glad others have found you.
Hello Kate, I am from Melbourne, Australia. Love your Channel!. The Australasian Quilt Convention was held in Melbourne last weekend, during which they held a class in Kawandi quilts. Curious about this technique, I searched for it on RUclips. At the end of the tutorial, up popped your channel! I am so glad I discovered it. I love watching you work, so cheerful and positive. I also love the fact you have many projects on the go and don't feel the need to rush to finish them. It's inspired me to pick up my unfinished sewing! I also watch Donna Jordan. I am now hooked on The Last Homely House!
Hi KateI found you for a comment in a video by Joe Cunningham. I enjoy your neighborliness and your inspiring approach to quilting. I have been quilting for 30 years. Now at 85 I am a slow stitcher.
It's like I'm sitting listening to my mother or my grandmother, which was my mimi or my great-grandmother, which was my nannie. They're all gone now so it's really joyful listening to you!
Hello Kate! I agree with Laura, - do not change a thing, - the way you present yourself and your world around you IS WHAT makes it so, so special! I feel like I am at home, and have taken a seat on the lime-green couch, with my feed propped up, knitting along, while listening to you! This is so, so homely and comforting! The first time I've heard about your channel was from Arne & Carlos, they've mentioned you a few times, because they love watching you. And I finally watched one of your videos, after I searched for Knitting videos, - and you came along! Now I am hooked. Hooked on a home in North Umberland but sitting in Bavaria....hahahaha! I mostly watch knitting stuff, but love the variety of all the wonderful things you share.
I found your name on a Facebookgroup called Winwick Mum Knit n Natter and Winwick Mum Sockalong. It started as a sockalong group, now it is much more. A lady was talking about your Advent videos. I just started quilting again after more then 30 years and am so happy to have found you. I am from The Netherlands.
Hi Kate I really liked the tidying up your draw video too lol You popped up in my youTube Feed for EPP which I really like and quilting.I recently went to a Craft Fair and I won the lucky door prize which was a Pfaff Quilting machine which was absolutely perfect for me I was so lucky! I had a 12 year old quilt sitting in my cupboard, as I didnt have the right sewing machine so it was never finished. Until this year when I finally found a lovely local quilting lady who does quilting stitch and chat and offered to help me to finish off my quilt. I now have three other quilts that I would like to do lol. Well she is going to long arm it for me and I chose a lovely daisy and vine design which will look amazing. I will wait for it to come back. Thank you for sharing all your lovely ideas and tips with us all.
Hi Kate, I am currently hand sewing a hexagon quilt and I was looking for tutorials. That’s how I found you. I work from home because I am looking after my dad who has dementia and I have you playing while I work. Sewing is my calming activity when things get a bit hard with dad. I started 7/1/23. Love everything you do!!! 💜
I am still in watching your „old“ videos. 😊 You just talked about maybe changing the way to do your videos. Please don’t change too much. Of course you change things as you go along. But we all love watching you just the way you do it. I love sitting on your sofa and „chatting“ with you. Isn’t RUclips wonderful? You are able to „meet“ wonderful people from another country whom you never have met on another way. Take care 🥰
I was just watching your videos about making jam and when you were cutting out fabric circles for the jars. Please don't think a person would be bored watching you do this. I enjoy seeing the different things you do and listening to your conversation. Incidentally, I'm from Buffalo, New York
Hello , I found you by on youtube by clicking “quilting” so I turn on one and i felt so inspired . You have a way of chatting and explaining how to make quilts in a very unique and warmly way, like you are teaching me in person. Your videos are different you show exactly what it happens while quilting 😅. I live in Hertfordshire for the past 13 years but I am Italian. I started quilt in US and than attended a small quilting course in Italy. The rest I am learning by myself through books and video. I needed more instructions and so I found you. 😂So glad and hopefully you don’t become like others making video for the sake of it but continue to make interesting and learning videos that become special even if you have to reduce them because family’s time. As family comes first. ❤ thank you for your time and talent to speak to….me!❤
Love all your videos. I found you about a year ago, was watching Bernadette Banner ( her name is the name of her channel) and then UTUBE recommended your channel. So grateful for the recommendation. I think I have now watched almost all of your videos while sitting on my couch sewing, mending, quilting or what ever project that needs to be done. I think you would like Bernadette Banner’s channel. Her calm manner and knowledge of vintage clothing, hand sewing, history are fascinating. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and sweet self with us.
Thank you for mentioning Bernadette Banner I watched her recent podcast in vintage clothing fashion and absolutely love it .Never knew of her channel until you told us on here .
Hello Kate, I found your channel completely by accident and I absolutely love it. I have made a couple of quilts in the past years but I mostly knit and crochet. I want to do more quilting and you have showed me that I can. I have sewed for my family for many years and now that my husband is gone I look for new things to keep me busy. Thank you for what you do and I look forward to every new video.
Hi Kate, i am here because i watched a video of Arne&Carlos🥰 And now I am watching all your video's 🥰 So Arne&Carlos have to wait a bit😉Love your voice and you inspire me to keep quilting, knitting, gardening and love the😺I learn so much from you, watching, while you are quilting, sitting on your sofa🍪🫖I live in the East of the Netherlands, in a town called Enschede, near the German border.
Your video showed up on my recommended feed. So glad I clicked on that link. I absolutely love your chats and find some of your quilting tips or techniques very useful. I identify with you as well because I have three children. I’m way ahead of you on grands though - I have 11!! Eight of them are girls. I have one great grandson and another great on the way. Life is so precious.
I am a long time lover of quilts, but a new quilter and you and your cats are wonderfully company while I hand finish the binding on my son's quilt. Thanks for making a space on your green sofa for me, my cats and my quilt!
Kate, my friend I don't know how I found you excited that I have. Quilting is a new thing for me, and I suppose that is where you came from. I am so very happy about that. I love to be on the big green couch listening to you. Very entertaining and wise a friendship that is so very comfortable. I know that you don't know me, I barely know you... except to say I have been watching everything you daily. I'm glad you are not scripted, it makes it more friendly. I like your bird's and cat's, your travels and your family. As I get more comfortable on your couch, I see such a unique opportunity here... one where I too want to do. And I can't tell you how long it's been that I chose to do anything. Bless you, I'll always be back for a spot of tea. Peppermint lately. ❤
I forgot to mention The Closet Historian. A young woman who is a writer, seamstress and a philosopher in my opinion. I am twice her age and find her so engaging, open and reflective.
Susan Gannon I'm a big fan of The Closet Historian too. I hope you don't mind I've added the link here for you. The link to her last video: ruclips.net/video/VXn97OigrFc/видео.html
i watch baumgartner and the closet historian, too!!!!! You might also enjoy bernadette banner - her channel is vintage-sewing related, and her videography and speaking voice are top notch.
Hi Kate I've found you from atchibg quilting videos and you popped up. Since watching your videos I've started making a flying geese quilt for our 10yr old granddaughter Ava. It's my first quilt and I would never ever attempted this if you hadn't inspired me so much so a big thank you for that. We have some similarities too, my favourite colours are all shades of pink and green, I have a green sofa too lol. I love baking, I used to make wedding cakes professionally. I'm just a couple of years older than you and I love the way you just chat so naturally, you really are just like my newest friend. I watch you in the mornings after which I feel really motivated all day. I've recommended you to lots of people and they all love your videos too. Never stop being your wonderful self. Brenda South Wales.
I have no idea how to add links😂 here is a couple of channels I watch: Quilt Roadies (Anna) Stitch Roadies (Anna) (floss tube a new discovery for me i.e. 100s of cross stitchers). Baumgartner Restoration (Art Restoration). Anything to do with breadmaking Bon Appetite for cooking and a really good laugh. Garment/Bag Sewing (I finished a Coat today!): Gabberdashery Hide and Silk (her tutorials and vlogmas is fantastic) Dorothy's Daughter (brilliant and great ideas for kids clothes) TomKat Stitchery How brilliant your kids and their partners encourage and support you on many levels. I wish you much success with this channel and with Patreon. I hope your bees make it. Susan
Susan I too stumbled across Flosstube a couple of days ago. I used to cross stitch, maybe I’ll have to get back into it! :) Thank you for the other channels, I’ll have to check them out. Sometimes, I’d rather watch You Tube instead of the Telly! Like you I’m not good with adding links... Have you seen, Jordan Fabrics or Missouri Star Quilt? Both fantastic quilting channels. Love watching Kate, I feel like I’m back home again. The only think on my bucket list; Make it home to England one more time!!! Have a blessed day wherever you live. Sheila
I've been watching for some time now but I found you by typing in quilting... and I love your soft voice and accent, because I'm from Michigan in the US... even tho I love your quilting I love that you do so much more.. and of course Norma who comes every time you say hello RUclips friends 😂
Dear Kate, first time I happily sat down on your comfy sofa was in December 2019. I had been watching Vlogmas of a couple of podcasters (e.g. Amy Florence of the Standed Dyeworks podcast, Ali of Little drops of wonderful, Lili of Nordic stitches...), all in English, so at a given point of time, the youtube algorithm introduced me to the Last Homely House East of the Sea. And as the screen showed cats, I was immediately attracted to your channel ;-). During the holidays I sort of binge watched most of your creative, inspiring and refreshing episodes. Mainly, in my own making, I´m interested in knitting and felting. But you are such an inspiration for looking beyond, for trying out something different, something new. So I might give my sewing machine another try... I love your colourful home, the beautiful garden, all lovely people and animals that are part of your life and, of course, you, exactly the way you are. Thank you so much for all the work you and your children are putting into the production of the channel. Hugs and best wishes from the south of Germany to you.
I love the lime green sofa, what a lovely thing to do, you really keep me company I take you from room to room when I am busy. I make a lot of crafts, and need to keep my hands busy. You are a pleasure to watch and make me laugh. The cats are so adorable and fun to watch. Take care and be happy. 😊 ❤
Love watching your channel . Think I just happened on it . I have made several paper piecing dogs. Making a small res one now . Just finished a blue one for my 4 yrs great grandson . First one I made was for me , haha. I’m 74 yrs old and love every thing you you do . The time passes by so fast . I love you ❤️. Retha little p.s. I’m going to make those curtains for my sewing room ! Love watching you quilt .
Found your channel this past July ( 2024) while searching for quilt patterns and general knitting channels. LOVE YOU. I am slowly surfing your past youtube programs and just admire the way you present your projects, the easy going chatter, the cup of tea, biscuits and the cats! My mom past last March and left me a ton of yarn, crocheted squares and loads of sewing knick and knacks in a variety of boxes and bins... I did love the unveilling of the quilts in the Red suitcases from your Mom and know how you must felt but the generous way your shared with us made it all worth it . Thank you from a beginner quilter from Canada.
Hey, I live in Alabama, USA. I reviewed one of your videos on how to make journals. I have been hooked. Don't change your style, I love just the way you are. :)
Your description of the sofa and footstools reminded me of a childrens show we used to watch called (in Canada) the Friendly Giant. He had a chair and a rocking chair etc. to curl up on, so cute. I would like to sit on the end with an arm so I can put my tea cup on. Anna Bates from Stitch Roadies mentioned your site. She chats to us, just like you. My son, Dennis', room always looked like a storm had just blown through. Have a great week.
Hello Kate, I discovered you through Arne & Carlos at Christmas time and I am slowly working my way through watching all of your videos. I have even become a patron today, choosing the Sadie level as my Grannie was known as Sadie (real name Sarah). Looking forward to watching even more videos from you!! 😊😊💕
HI, I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. I love your channel and just do whatever you do because every time I learned something such as English Paper Piercing which I never heard about this, and I researched with different youtube, and yours more clearly, and you called some people "snobby" about using glue. I find it so funny. I agree with you. That got me hooooooooked with Hexi, and I can't even stop doing this. I enjoy so much. What you do is very practical in many ways, recycle things, be realistic, you love cats, allowing them walking all over. etc. I felt that I found exactly what I enjoy watching. I do jump from there to here such as knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking... wanted to do gardening but with what I have is very limited space. Watching you is so relaxing. You do not give shit about what people think of you. That s what I like about you. Very practical lady. How did I find you is the lists of youtube related to making quilting. That s where I found you, and love it.
A dear friend of mine sent me the link to you channel. And I simply love to watch you videos. It is something I usually do in the evening, after work, just to relax. You are a wonderful person and I love the way you smile with you eyes. Thank you for sharing your work, your days with us. By the way, I'm from Brazil.
Thank you, not lonely any longer. x
Exactly 💞
I also listen to these lovely videos while I sew or knitting...❤❤
Hi Audrey hope you are still watching. Kate keeps me company sewing also. She is so lovely and informative to listen too
Kai
Same. Been watching from Virginia for maybe 2 months now. I started from Kate's first video. I'm now on February 2020.
She is a real treasure for sure !❤
However, watching your videos give me confidence and I'm looking forward to wintertime when everything's done in the garden and I have plenty of time for sewing 🎊
thanks for sharing your life and experiences with us.
I've been hooked on your channel and cats ever since and hope to do a paper pieced quilt in the not
so distant future.
Thank You for being down to earth, truthful about the realities of quilting and for sharing your life and all the other amazing projects that you do ❤️
Love the creAtive style you show us. I’m from Denver , Co. and am 83 yrs.old. I’ve been quilting since 1976.
@@MargaretS-e8y hi Margaret...it's nice to meet you. Yes, Kate is amazing
What we need in this world is what you offer: authenticity.
I agree. Love this channel
Elle yes! That is why I’m here as well!
Well said. This is exactly what I think - Kate is such an amazing person and I learn so much by watching her videos 🤗👍
Elle, I wholeheartedly agree with you. 💜🇦🇺🐨
Elle Well said Elle, I totally agree with everything you said!
Ditto Angela. Enjoy
You’ll probably like ‘Sit and knit for a bit’ with Arne and Carlos . They’re Norwegian; and very similar format to Kate’s.
I found Kate through Arne and Carlos
Keep up the great work and thank you.
sorry! get some sleep!!! ha ha! xxx
I’m firmly on the sofa, enjoying Kaffe & Brandon interviews, quilt shows, scrappy quilting, color immersion, fabric therapy, new tips and suggestions, but most of all- YOU‼️
Thank you for sharing so much of your life and activities! Blessings and Love!
Carole
I found your channel by checking quilting videos. I love your work and watching you do so many different crafts. I live in Ohio - USA. GOD Bless!
Isn’t she the best!! Her voice is so calming!
I love your never ending lime green velvet couch, the pink cushions warm my heart. Your videos are truly like chatting with a friend.
It is so relaxing you have given me permission to have all sorts of pieces on the go at any one time thank you
I spent the pandemic with Arne and Carlos knitting 3 blankets with decorative squares. Just like a quilt:) And it was through them that I found you❤
I really enjoy Kevin and Ray on ‘Needles at the ready”.
I love that you’re not scripted. I much prefer the friendly chat format!
Yes, you are a friend
Arne and Carlos spoke very highly of you. So I had to see what you are all about😊
It's like I'm sitting listening to my mother or my grandmother, which was my mimi or my great-grandmother, which was my nannie. They're all gone now so it's really joyful listening to you!
Yes Kate makes such a wonderful hostess she makes one feel so at home.
Take care 🥰
I'm a fiber artist in Portland, Oregon, USA. Arne and Carlos (knitwear designers) recommended your channel. I'm enjoying your chats.
❤ thank you for your time and talent to speak to….me!❤
Carlos and Arne introduced me to “The Last Homely House” and you! . Fortunate for me! 😃 ❤️
I typed “my first quilt” and you appeared to me. And your first quilt is amazing. You are amazing❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I watch her as well and love her. I really enjoyed watching her first ever Christmas while she was in England last year.
Okay erz
I love Katie Green and her channel The Green Bean Podcast. Knitting, illustration, sewing and her walks on Dartmoor with her gorgeous dog Jack.
Love Katie Green, a very relaxing watch.
RUclips recommended you I guess because I watch a lot of quilting channels. Your channel is the only "chatty" one I watch!
I found you while looking for “hand stitched quilts” liked your chatter so subscribed 😊 now I put you on while I do my stitching 😻
Oh yes the closet historian a real good watch 😎👍
i watch baumgartner and the closet historian, too!!!!! You might also enjoy bernadette banner - her channel is vintage-sewing related, and her videography and speaking voice are top notch.
I was going to add Bernadette Banner too! I'm going to check out The Closet Historian
I found your channel when searching quilting. Channels I love Jordan Fabrics and the Missouri Star Quilt Company. Love ya
I follow both of them too 🙂
Love those also
Christy Cochran we share the same taste in RUclips videos. Love to learn new quilting techniques. Gilly from Hampshire UK.
Christy Cochran I love them too ,it means we got good taste xxxx Helen from Aberdeen xxx
You are delightful! It is "like chatting with friend"!!!

Susan, I am absolutely mesmerized by Bumgartner Restoration ruclips.net/channel/UCvZe6ZCbF9xgbbbdkiodPKQ
@@zolawinnie me too... It is like a mediation... A study in patience...!
Sheila
Gabberdashery
@@donnakidd1487 yes of course, my mistake.
Hi I live in Alabama also. I just found Kate through Arne and Carlos. Binge watching both.
