Had to watch the video 5 times to understand what's going on. So they started selling square sockets in decent cases that fit into tool drawers and provided 3D " size info in the marketing imaging. Then they came out with this new pack out system, which of course fits the new square sockets. ...And instead of NOT offering the pack out trays as cheaper standalone for existing customers, They instead had the gall to YES offer these trays to absolutely anyone. ...so...hear me out....let me understand... If I have an existing set of square sockets, I can now get into the new packout system without completely replacing my socket set with a new socket set. Just to get the packout?!?! So for me, with square sockets, if I want in to the packout system...I DON'T need to buy the whole new socket set???? All I need is the new tray liner. And empty packouts? WT-Absolite-F?!?!?!???
It’s only $20 for the trays. No big deal. Not everybody has packout. I understand why they released them the way they did I think it’s awesome they are offering an alternative solution. Something for everyone! Stay safe Vinsanity !
I think that Milwaukee as a company has always tried to do good for their customers. In this case, I just don't see how they "owe" anything to anyone. (imo)
Pack out was just barely on the market when these came out. But now that it's a success they can add more products and features to it easily. Honestly they could've not even offered the trays but they did witch is cool.
I bought Kaizen foam to put into a low profile packout box. I have one side cut to size and in the box, the sockets, extensions and ratchet have been sitting on top of the kaizen waiting on me to cut around them. Now I don't have to use up the Kaizen on sockets. Thanks for the heads up VCG!

The biggest mistake Milwaukee made was not making the sockets in 12 point. As a helicopter mechanic I have the 1/4 and 3/8 SAE sets in a compact packout box, but I need them in 12 point as well.
@5:10 No, that’s silly, we asked them to combine them and they did. Just buy the 45 dollar box and be done and grow up. It’s life and that how it goes sometimes.

I have that kit and would love it in my pack out. I don’t mind paying for the pack out trays. My problem is the availability in eastern Canada with milwaukee
Hi Vince, A Big Hell No!!! Milwaukee doesn't need to give out the packout boxes if you already purchase the socket set. I get it, everyone would have like to have a packout verion with this socket set. Yet, everyone has to remember they released the socket set separate to see if people would buy the set and if sales would be worth continue with the procuct. If they start doing that then Milwaukee will start losing massive profits. Man, they already making the insert cases for the packout so you can purchase them. Yes, you will have the argument "Well it doesn't cost much to make" so they should give it to everyone for free. Come on people you purchase the product early to be the it guy or gal then you complain about the price. Then just wait a little bit longer. Look if they have waited they would all have the packout version. Man, everybody wants everything free... Milwaukee, you don't need to give everyone a free packout. I enjoy having the 3/8" in the small low pro organizer I bought this past holiday season. I bought the 3/8 drive SAE pack out set at my local Home Depot this past Christmas season. I use it all the time. BUT! The ratchet gears get bound up when removing bolts. I got so mad at it I crammed a gearwrench ratchet in my set and tossed my Milwaukee ratchet in the bottom of a tool box.
If this is available in a few years I’d be interested I hate when companies come out with crazy sets then discontinue them and no replacement parts are available
Don't see myself dropping sockets. Adjustable wrench fits flat side's just fine. Action of ratchet works nice in tight spaces. All around smooth & quiet. Owned several diferent brands over last 50 years these set's are my favorite.
If I remember correctly from your video back then the sockets are flat to help prevent them from rolling away. Also if I paid a premium I wouldn't want to pay extra for packout compatibility
I don't see a packout tray for the 1/2" set. It has a removable tray which does well in my Tool Chest, but since I am a guy who still frequents salvage yards .. The packout roller box is great to help me drag tools around the yard. First of all, great vid. As for the packout, If you bought the tools back then so be it. There selling in packout now that’s awesome and another great selling point over other brands. If they offered previous buyers the packout for free or a reduced price that would be very generous. But I’m not going to complain if they don’t. If you just bought it and the next couple days it’s on the shelf in packout, don’t blame Milwaukee blame the tool guy at your tool store for not telling you. Or check here with Vince on what’s the newest stuff coming out before you buy.
If "MILWAUKEE" was to not charge for the "PACK-OUT BOX" it would come with poorer quality "packaging" in the future. I like the Idea of buying the "PACK-OUT BOX" so that I can insert the Tray into my Tool Box, but would end up RECYCLING the Box... (I have lack of space for storage & don't want shop clutter!) I think it would be to keep them from rolling if you happened to drop them...really nice set by the way...and yes if you paid for something that was supposed to come a certain way and it didnt...the seller/company should make it right asap no hagling... period
The sockets don’t roll around, I love the set. Downey California
So if they indeed made promise that it was supposed to be provided and or was supposed to be made to fit and customers purchased not aware that they would not fit until after they got home and found out that way then maybe but how are they to know who expected that
Hell yes they should. 👊👊👊👊customers service is key...great video Vince....💪💪💪💪💥
Yes they should give those who purchased socket sets a packet box
Special feature is the flats help keep the sockets from rolling away
Was just telling a guy I was working with today the set would be great if it came with a pack out box, because the lid is flimsy. Then here you are with more tool porn.
The only new info that I wanna hear is the fix for the gen 3 collet 😅😂🤣
There is a fix, and it's actually the collet release spring bent wrong from the factory. There's a video on it, easy fix no new parts needed.
@@jascospeed It isnt a true fix. Ive tried for 10 hours straight. It helps a little but the collet still releases if you use spade bits.
@@eliteexposure5594 be a man amd throw the spade bit on a drill where it belongs.
(I have lack of space for storage & don't want shop clutter!)

They also did nothing for the 1/2 set ,i believe that comes in a hard case
I believe you are correct!
The square end also keeps it from rolling away
The people who buy these tools should be handy enough to make their own trays to fit inside the pack out system.
It doesn’t roll of my tool box when I go from job to job Iam a machine maintenance mechanic
Great update @vcgconstruction
Talk about clickbait. This guy doesn't know the difference between industries. 99% of mechanics aren't traveling with their entire tool sets you clickbait queen!
They should give them to us that spent the crazy $ for these sets.
And the other reason for the square socket is so they don't roll away .
For $10 yes. B/c we know it coats them $0.25 pre tray to make.
I think they should give you something for free If not the box maybe the insert to go into the pack out box
I just wish they were this price in the UK we have to pay a premium for Milwaukee
The 4 flats also make it so the sockets don’t roll away.
You are correct!
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
