Hello, i installed this to 2 switch lite, 1 works normally and the other 1 if i restart it goes directly to OFW not to hekate menu, only if i turn off the switch it goes to hekate on next boot up, you think it could be the B point not being solder properly?
A few kinds of flux that are worth having: a) a quality rosin flux pen, which is usually good for quick solder jobs where you want better joints, and b) a non-expired tacky flux, which is actually better in a lot of cases in my experience and definitely should be your choice for SMD work. I use NC191, and even though it's no-clean, that stuff is shockingly good for use with copper braid and even general THT soldering.
i keep one of these lying round if i get a console with parental lock. You can usually go onto nintendo to get the master key but this stopped working for me the other day, so just put in the chip and removed the parental lock..happy days..
I had this installed on my lite, when i restarted for the first time in awhile it wont boot to hekate the led on th rp2040 blinks blue and blinks green3x, is there a fix i got it repaired like 2 time(still have waranty) but why do u think is the problem?

Hello, if you are referring to the square pads that are under sp1 and sp2, those go to ground, they are soldered to the metal frame. I think the guy in the video forgot to mention them, but if you look in detail you can see that they go to ground.

Man, I guess my flex cable was bad or something. I redid everything and it just kept booting into ofw with there being 2 pulses on the chip. I just uninstalled everything and at least the switch boots fine. I'm gonna try with the other flex cable and see if it works better, otherwise I need to try direct wire install.

Thanks. Some chips come with software installed, others need it adding, I have a video in the top description showing how to do this. I dont have a written guide, the main thing to remember is unplug the battery asap, this will stop any shorts if you drop something/short something. I dont think the Switch lite has a video output so I dont think its possible to easily output like a regular Switch.
@fixingmoddingbuilding yes the lite does not have video output, the question was if it was possible to remove it and put a card that reads the video output so as to show the games on the tv? or at least find a way to do it

@@Sanrasxzyep, I installed about 100 of each of these chips, picos and badly. About a third of the hwfly would end up having issues down the road. Only one pico came back due to water damage

There are many of them how do you know which one to buy they all look different even when they say it is for the lite version.
There is different brands, just need to pick one, they all do the same thing

First ones I did a few years back I had no microscope so it is doable but if you don't solder great I would say it's not worth the risk!

Yer, don't rush and practice. Good soldering iron to use, also helps if you can zoom in, even a microscope app on a phone helps alot.

Can you dm me with correct version of fw please? My chip goes from blue to 3x double blink yellow led when it starting and chip doesn't work.

It's not soldered correctly. Had the same issue. Look the connections and resolder. It will fix the issue
Great video. What temperature range do you recommend for these points? I have heard as low as 300c - but I typically use 350-375c.
I have my soldering iron set at 340c unless I am using a fine tip then I go to about 360/380c as it doesn't seem to transfer the heat as well.
i tried but that flex that comes whit the points and 3.3v its way to hard to sodler whit propper equipment the sp1- sp2 flex was easy
