Yeah totally agree. Steve was an icon for almost a century but Walker is a real soldier, grounded and wounded deeply by warfare and made and ordered to replace an icon. I cant respect anyone who dont think he was in the right in this scene.

He's a very good character and one I find very sympathetic. He's not perfect like Steve Rodgers but neither are most people. He is a very good representation of how a good soldier would be like if he were to become Captain America in real life

This was unfortunately incredibly realistic in its portrayal of how the government thinks the solution to soldiers with PTSD and gripes with the system is to toss them aside and let them drown. Walker was a Medal of Honor recipient who was mentally traumatized by war and then they toss him aside. The show overall did a horrible job with the whole portraying PTSD-stricken veterans as psychopathic murderers, but this was a pretty well done scene.

What?? Buckys arc is top tier and it was on full display during this series. We already knew Sam pretty well, but Bucky getting so much screen time to really flesh his character out after EVERYTHING he's been through was absolutely incredible. So well done. Walker was definitely done justice, but Bucky was easily the best character. Wyatts acting is off the charts though, so I agree there.
This might just be me but when John strikes the hammer on the metal it doesn't ring like it did for Tony. This is a man with an eschewed sense of righteousness and I think a desire to seek a quick vengeance rather than justice like Ironman or OG Cap

The objective reason for him being "bad" is that an insecure and reckless government pawn is exactly the wrong person to be Captain America, which Sam and Bucky rightfully recognize in comparison with Steve Rogers. However, Sam and Bucky were also overly harsh and dismissive because it's painful for them to see someone replace their comrade. I didn't think the show was good overall, but it did a great job making a character that was simultaneously undeserving and deserved more. Weirdos like to say this was unintentional depth for a villain, but that contradicts his upcoming role in the antihero team Thunderbolts.

He is Captain America if Steve continued to do what he was trained to do and nothing else. That's why Sam was chosen to carry the shield. He has a very strong moral compass like Steve 👏

Rewatching this show, that senator was the issue the entire time.
So weird they tried to make him out as the bad guy at first, only to have the audience see him as a hero in his own right. He really is Captain America, and Steve would approve of him.
But on the other end, they tried to make us feel sympathy and care for terrorists. 🤦♂️

This man is Captain America.
He is Captain America if Steve continued to do what he was trained to do and nothing else. That's why Sam was chosen to carry the shield. He has a very strong moral compass like Steve 👏
