I liked the end where Bucky threw the shield down at Sam's head in frustration and didn't say a word. Just one look and it was like Bucky was saying "You should have kept the shield in the first place!"

The sad fact is that if something supernatural like the serum genuinely came into existence, John Walker would more than likely be the most accurate representation of it actually being used, a Good man who was simply pushed to the edge, he isn't a bad person that isn't it at all, he's a good person but after having his best friend killed he snapped, which in my personal opinion is completely understandable for why he'd drop the shield on the killer.
Walker isn't an entirely good man. He has little self control, is unable to take responsibility for his actions, and acts very entitled. However, he also clearly wants to be a good man, and thinks he is. He want's to help, but isn't always sure on how to do that. The responsibility of being Captain America should never have fallen to him, as he obviously wasn't up to it.

John was already established as the best of the best in the army and a peak human, now he has the Serum, a stronger version than Bucky's. Bucky is great soldier with a decent Serum while John is the BEST soldier with a superior Serum.

I have a feeling John going “So that’s what this is about” and looking at the shield. That really what this was all about. Let's be honest. Him, Sebastian and Bruhl were by far the best parts of the show as Walker, Bucky and Zemo. Anthony Mackie is a similarly brilliant actor but I do find that, as much as they're trying with Sam (and using good material), he's just not as interesting of a character as the above 3. I feel like generally the best or most interesting part about him is Mackie's portrayal more than the character himself.

I like how it was Karli who killed his friend but still he ran after the other guy and brutally killed him. Karli had the immunity of being the Main Character.
Karli's buddy is hardly blameless. He was holding Walker in place to get stabbed which in turn resulted in Lamarr rushing in to save him and Karli killing him, making the guy Walker killed complicit. Plus as we later see while running away the guy chucks a stone waste bin at Walker that easily could've injured or killed a bystander had Walker not stopped it. Plus even if he's saying "I give up" he's still a super soldier, meaning unless he's unconscious he's still a serious threat.

EDIT: Not like the literal WWI trenches, but constant exposure to death and warfare instead of just idealized propaganda.
John Walker was the best part of the series. Still think Bucky should be the new Cap - he has a vibranium arm AND is a super soldier, not to mention has had an excellent redemption arc... meanwhile Sam can... fly around and shoot stuff. Whatever.
Agree on all points. They would never have Sam give up the shield now due to woke points but if they at some point even reversed it from the comics and had Bucky follow Sam as Cap (where of course, in the comics, Sam followed bucky) that would be so awesome. His doubt and journey towards redemption and inner peace was just amazing in the comics and it's such a shame that, with one of the foremost talented and wide-ranging actors in Sebastian, who was set with a tonne of work in his initial contract and foreshadowing of him being Captain America (him picking up the shield every 5 minutes), it's such a shame they did the quickest steer left and had Sam be Cap. And I loved Sam since day 1 and love Mackie as him and if they wanted to do Sam after like in the comics, that would have been awesome too. But to pass up how it went in the comics just for woke points (people say it's because Steve didn't die in this reality and because Bucky's crimes are way more widely known in the MCU but they forget how Bucky actually had a trial in the comics whereas in the show the president has just already pardoned him) was a shame. Not at all saying Sam being Cap is woke for me (it is a mantle unlike female Thor which is his name and identity) but the decision for him to be Cap first was 100% SJW influenced.
Bucky just got his life back after being brainwashed and having his identity stolen. Thrusting the responsibility of being Captain America at him after he’s just gotten himself together wouldn’t seem right.

John Walker/US Agent is one of the most underrated characters in Marvel, and he was one of the best parts of this series. I'm also glad that they're reportedly re-writing the Thunderbolts script, so they can hopefully focus on him and the others a bit more. (Apparently, the original focused too much on the Black Widow characters, Yelena in particular, I'm assuming.) The idea of seeing him together with Taskmaster, Ghost, and Red Guardian alone has me excited.
Really Wyatt Russell is a great actor. I become his great fan after seeing falcon and the winter soldier series. He plays his role with full dedication and his character is also very impressive. His acting is that much good that now I became a great fan of his acting and character John Walker also who has no fake principles like Steve Rogers. He shows the true emotions which every simple and ordinary man shows after seeing his friend die by anyone in front of him. Well built character. I like Wyatt Russell and John Walker both.
Just in the wrong ways.. The clear difference being the scene between Steve and Tony in Civil War (Steve NOT KILLING Tony, when there was an opportunity to) and John “going there” because his friend was killed by an extremist with supremacist ideals.

Was there a reason they didn't focus on Bucky's metal arm more? I mean, in the Captain America Winter Soldier and Civil War they made it a point to emphasize the arm's strength and destructive ability. Now that he had a Vibranium arm there was even a better opportunity to showcase its greater abilities which should've perhaps also given him an edge over the other super soldiers.
John didn’t even start the fight, Bucky did. They were having a conversation and John was even saying “why are you making me do this” and “we could have been a team”

I can't really see him as the bad guy. He tried his best but Bucky and Falco instead of teaming up and fighting for the same goal put their own problems into this. It is like they can't get enough to judge him just because he is the one who has the shield. But he is also the only one that wasn't afraid of picking that role.
It's funny how you see only John's good side and Sam and Bucky's bad sides in this instead of seeing them as morally complex characters, no one is purely good or purely evil in this.
I'm impressed with the amount of emotion and wordless exchanges that took place here. Sam and Bucky coming to an understanding, John losing himself. Worst part is John isn't even a character that you can hate. He was a good soldier who tried to be like Steve but misunderstood what that meant. The big difference was Steve was a good man before he was given the formula. Whereas John was a good soldier before he got it. I have no doubt John was a good man. But years of seeing what he say had its effect on him
John was also a good man when he got the serum. It was just more unstable a serum, AND unlike Steve, war had already damaged John by the time he took the serum. People tend to forget Steve had NO experience at fighting AT ALL before the serum.
Can we just talk for a second about Walker's ABSURD skill level with the Shield? He's only had it for like, a month. MAX. And he was holding his own and tossing it better that Sam ever did. Yeah, he lost a 2v1 but if it had been a 1v1 he would have DECIMATED them.
keep in mind he was the militarys top soldier, so it shouldnt be too surprising that he learned to use the shield that quickly, then their is the supersoldier serum which increases mental abilities as well as physical
To be fair, Sam's melee skill has been extremely limited (he still struggles with Batroc, a normal human in the end) so he mostly relies on ranged attack from his jetpack and smgs. Bucky is limited by his no kill code (also because Marvel has been nerfing him for some time now). Doesn't help that John is a top of the line soldier who is way too accustomed with hand to hand combat and unlike the other two he does NOT hold back when it comes to the killing blow

But in Civil War, they wasn’t trying to fight Spider-Man they were just trying to follow the plan and get to the Quinjet. Spider-Man was just trying to stop them and they didn’t know his abilities. They didn’t know that he had super strength, can shoot webs, and have high agility as well as able to sense incoming danger. In this show they both know about the serum and what it does to people and Bucky himself has it in him so it’s more of a fair fight.

Yeah. Bucky's not really a "fighter" in the traditional sense. He's just really good at fighting dirty. I'd like to see him incorporate more martial arts into his fighting. Like Steve was quite acrobatic. Maybe he can learn a thing or two from Sam, who seems to be following in those acrobatic footsteps.
The fact “The End Of The Line” reprises at the end, effortlessly reinforces the devastation and misery Sam is facing seeing his best friend’s shield, the symbol of America’s honour and patriotism smeared in the blood of a man wrongly accused of a murder he didn’t commit. Anthony Mackie’s performance excellently conveys the shame of the juxtaposition that is Steve’s symbol of freedom and freewill being used as a tool for fear and murder. This show is one of the best things to come from the MCU. Steve Rogers’ presence has never felt stronger when absent from a scene. Marvel Studios has done it again.... roll on Captain America 4!!!

The only difference is John kills his enemies upfront and personal whereas Steve blows them up, smashes their head inside of a helmet, drags them along the ground by a motorcycle before throwing them off screen, caves their chests in with battering rams, shoots them, throws them off boats, planes, helicopters, cliffs, windows, and cars. Yup. But its a pretty clean shield.

This scene is great. Beautiful acting on all 3 sides. Mackie and Stan already showed their love for the characters of Falcon and Bucky, but here they are finally taking their characters to highest points. Wyatt Russell did an amazing job as John Walker. I expected him to be anti-Steve Rogers, but in last 2 episodes you can clearly see that he only did what his superiors expected from him. He's not a villain. He's just lost. He wants to be like Steve Rogers, but he doesn't know how to do it. I hope to see more of Walker as USAgent in future MCU projects (Thunderbolts movie or TV show maybe)

I love this scene so much, it really shows the differences in ideal if each party. I the emotions are amazing and in the end I couldn't help but feel bad for John. He did all he could is Cap I wasn't fit for the job. Bucky understood he needed to fight for his retired and his honor. Sam fought for Steve's memory and to prove Steve was right for picking him. All in all a great scene.

He's very different from Steve Rogers. I want to see Walker become USAgent. That's his destiny.

The sad fact is that if something supernatural like the serum genuinely came into existence, John Walker would more than likely be the most accurate representation of it actually being used, a Good man who was simply pushed to the edge, he isn't a bad person that isn't it at all, he's a good person but after having his best friend killed he snapped, which in my personal opinion is completely understandable for why he'd drop the shield on the killer.
But he was not the one who dealt the blow and I believe it would be 50/50 all depends on who gets it.
Walker isn't an entirely good man. He has little self control, is unable to take responsibility for his actions, and acts very entitled. However, he also clearly wants to be a good man, and thinks he is. He want's to help, but isn't always sure on how to do that. The responsibility of being Captain America should never have fallen to him, as he obviously wasn't up to it.

I rewatched the show again trying to look at it from a different perspective because I'm super interested in his character. Let's be honest. Him, Sebastian and Bruhl were by far the best parts of the show as Walker, Bucky and Zemo. Anthony Mackie is a similarly brilliant actor but I do find that, as much as they're trying with Sam (and using good material), he's just not as interesting of a character as the above 3. I feel like generally the best or most interesting part about him is Mackie's portrayal more than the character himself.

I like how it was Karli who killed his friend but still he ran after the other guy and brutally killed him.
Karli had the immunity of being the Main Character.
Karli's buddy is hardly blameless. He was holding Walker in place to get stabbed which in turn resulted in Lamarr rushing in to save him and Karli killing him, making the guy Walker killed complicit. Plus as we later see while running away the guy chucks a stone waste bin at Walker that easily could've injured or killed a bystander had Walker not stopped it. Plus even if he's saying "I give up" he's still a super soldier, meaning unless he's unconscious he's still a serious threat.

John is a soldier and soldiers exist to protect their countries and destroy their enemies. Steve was a saint that became a soldier. Only Stan Lee knows if Steve could have kept his spirit after a couple years in the trenches.
EDIT: Not like the literal WWI trenches, but constant exposure to death and warfare instead of just idealized propaganda.

John Walker was the best part of the series. Still think Bucky should be the new Cap - he has a vibranium arm AND is a super soldier, not to mention has had an excellent redemption arc... meanwhile Sam can... fly around and shoot stuff.

Agree on all points. They would never have Sam give up the shield now due to woke points but if they at some point even reversed it from the comics and had Bucky follow Sam as Cap (where of course, in the comics, Sam followed bucky) that would be so awesome. His doubt and journey towards redemption and inner peace was just amazing in the comics and it's such a shame that, with one of the foremost talented and wide-ranging actors in Sebastian, who was set with a tonne of work in his initial contract and foreshadowing of him being Captain America (him picking up the shield every 5 minutes), it's such a shame they did the quickest steer left and had Sam be Cap. And I loved Sam since day 1 and love Mackie as him and if they wanted to do Sam after like in the comics, that would have been awesome too. But to pass up how it went in the comics just for woke points (people say it's because Steve didn't die in this reality and because Bucky's crimes are way more widely known in the MCU but they forget how Bucky actually had a trial in the comics whereas in the show the president has just already pardoned him) was a shame. Not at all saying Sam being Cap is woke for me (it is a mantle unlike female Thor which is his name and identity) but the decision for him to be Cap first was 100% SJW influenced.
Bucky just got his life back after being brainwashed and having his identity stolen. Thrusting the responsibility of being Captain America at him after he’s just gotten himself together wouldn’t seem right.

John Walker/US Agent is one of the most underrated characters in Marvel, and he was one of the best parts of this series. I'm also glad that they're reportedly re-writing the Thunderbolts script, so they can hopefully focus on him and the others a bit more. (Apparently, the original focused too much on the Black Widow characters, Yelena in particular, I'm assuming.)
The idea of seeing him together with Taskmaster, Ghost, and Red Guardian alone has me excited.
Really Wyatt Russell is a great actor. I become his great fan after seeing falcon and the winter soldier series. He plays his role with full dedication and his character is also very impressive. His acting is that much good that now I became a great fan of his acting and character John Walker also who has no fake principles like Steve Rogers. He shows the true emotions which every simple and ordinary man shows after seeing his friend die by anyone in front of him. Well built character. I like Wyatt Russell and John Walker both.

Was there a reason they didn't focus on Bucky's metal arm more? I mean, in the Captain America Winter Soldier and Civil War they made it a point to emphasize the arm's strength and destructive ability. Now that he had a Vibranium arm there was even a better opportunity to showcase its greater abilities which should've perhaps also given him an edge over the other super soldiers.
They were showing that thats not a part of himself he thinks about. He sees himself as just bucky barnes but the world sees winter solider

It's funny how you see only John's good side and Sam and Bucky's bad sides in this instead of seeing them as morally complex characters, no one is purely good or purely evil in this.
I'm impressed with the amount of emotion and wordless exchanges that took place here. Sam and Bucky coming to an understanding, John losing himself. Worst part is John isn't even a character that you can hate. He was a good soldier who tried to be like Steve but misunderstood what that meant. The big difference was Steve was a good man before he was given the formula. Whereas John was a good soldier before he got it. I have no doubt John was a good man. But years of seeing what he say had its effect on him

John was also a good man when he got the serum. It was just more unstable a serum, AND unlike Steve, war had already damaged John by the time he took the serum. People tend to forget Steve had NO experience at fighting AT ALL before the serum.

Can we just talk for a second about Walker's ABSURD skill level with the Shield? He's only had it for like, a month. MAX. And he was holding his own and tossing it better that Sam ever did. Yeah, he lost a 2v1 but if it had been a 1v1 he would have DECIMATED them.
keep in mind he was the militarys top soldier, so it shouldnt be too surprising that he learned to use the shield that quickly, then their is the supersoldier serum which increases mental abilities as well as physical
To be fair, Sam's melee skill has been extremely limited (he still struggles with Batroc, a normal human in the end) so he mostly relies on ranged attack from his jetpack and smgs. Bucky is limited by his no kill code (also because Marvel has been nerfing him for some time now). Doesn't help that John is a top of the line soldier who is way too accustomed with hand to hand combat and unlike the other two he does NOT hold back when it comes to the killing blow

But in Civil War, they wasn’t trying to fight Spider-Man they were just trying to follow the plan and get to the Quinjet. Spider-Man was just trying to stop them and they didn’t know his abilities. They didn’t know that he had super strength, can shoot webs, and have high agility as well as able to sense incoming danger. In this show they both know about the serum and what it does to people and Bucky himself has it in him so it’s more of a fair fight.
Well the spider bite is basically the super serum but way better and with extra powers so it’s understandable

It's clear John is the superior fighter. He was already peak human and the best soldier before the Serum, and now he has a Serum that's better than Bucky's. Just like in the comics Walker is stronger than Steve
Except Bucky in the comics his arm is as strong as Walker, they are both able to lift in the comics at least 10 tons, Bucky with his metal arm and US Agent with his super strength whilst Steve in the comics can lift at only 800lbs.
Yeah. Bucky's not really a "fighter" in the traditional sense. He's just really good at fighting dirty. I'd like to see him incorporate more martial arts into his fighting. Like Steve was quite acrobatic. Maybe he can learn a thing or two from Sam, who seems to be following in those acrobatic footsteps.

The fact “The End Of The Line” reprises at the end, effortlessly reinforces the devastation and misery Sam is facing seeing his best friend’s shield, the symbol of America’s honour and patriotism smeared in the blood of a man wrongly accused of a murder he didn’t commit. Anthony Mackie’s performance excellently conveys the shame of the juxtaposition that is Steve’s symbol of freedom and freewill being used as a tool for fear and murder.
This show is one of the best things to come from the MCU. Steve Rogers’ presence has never felt stronger when absent from a scene.

That man was a willing participant in multiple murders and was just a few minutes before aiding in the attempted murder of Walker.
The only difference is John kills his enemies upfront and personal whereas Steve blows them up, smashes their head inside of a helmet, drags them along the ground by a motorcycle before throwing them off screen, caves their chests in with battering rams, shoots them, throws them off boats, planes, helicopters, cliffs, windows, and cars.

This scene is great. Beautiful acting on all 3 sides. Mackie and Stan already showed their love for the characters of Falcon and Bucky, but here they are finally taking their characters to highest points. Wyatt Russell did an amazing job as John Walker. I expected him to be anti-Steve Rogers, but in last 2 episodes you can clearly see that he only did what his superiors expected from him. He's not a villain. He's just lost. He wants to be like Steve Rogers, but he doesn't know how to do it. I hope to see more of Walker as USAgent in future MCU projects (Thunderbolts movie or TV show maybe)

But if he was straight up tasked to kill John he would do so almost effortlessly.

This fight reminds me of the final battle in CA Civil War. It's a 2v1, random place, personal and emotional fight.
I love this scene so much, it really shows the differences in ideal if each party. I the emotions are amazing and in the end I couldn't help but feel bad for John. He did all he could is Cap I wasn't fit for the job. Bucky understood he needed to fight for his retired and his honor. Sam fought for Steve's memory and to prove Steve was right for picking him. All in all a great scene.
He’s more fit for it than either Sam or Bucky, those two were frankly the second villain group of this show
