- A torque wrench is one of the most useful mechanics tools. Instead of trying to get somebody to tighten a bolt to whatever feels right you can actually have a specification. After a while when you use a torque wrench you might be able to get a good feel on what different Torx are supposed to be from experience. Mission critical applications absolutely require a torque wrench. If you’re working on a head of a vehicle there’s no room for air. If you’re putting on wheels you don’t want the wheels to fall off but you also want to make sure that somebody can get the Lugnuts off if you’re on the side of the road

Thank you. My brother is a machinist, he used one of these wrenches on a production run. It worked hundreds of times before it broke... then Harbor Freight gave him a new one, no questions asked.
Now I can use my torque wrench with confidence…thank you boss
Excellent video! I gonna go grab one.I'm all about data driven purchasing when it comes to tools.
Thank you. Simple and straight to the point thank you so much.
Great simple video man, thanks!
thanks, good narration
Finally know how to use my torque wrench
Thank you
Thanks :)
I got the same wrench but they changed it. I dont even have any settings below 30ftlbs and it was the smallest they had.
Thx
I have a new torque wrench from HF just like you have. The 1st time I used it I couldn't hear a click(37 lbs). I tried it a 2nd time and I could barely hear it. Is that possible for a new wrench.
I just bought one but doesn't click that's means don't work right
Bruh thank you
Cool
I have this wrench and it is pretty difficult to rotate the adjustment sleeve as you go up in torque. Is this normal or do I have a dud?
It's normal. Your turning against a torsion spring. The higher you go in torque, the harder it turns.
Just got one and noticed same thing. Fairly easy to about 110 or 120, then it gets progressively harder. I was just holding the shaft as I turned the collar. If you grab the socket head like he shows in video, you’ll get more torque when turning and getting from 120 to 150 is a lot easier.
Thank you for showing how to read a torque wrench now I understand it
Fantastic video.
Why is much harder to adjust past 40 ft lbs? I tried to loosen the bolt each turn but it won't budge
The higher you go the harder it compresses the spring inside. It’s normal.
It’s hard to see where he points in like half a second lmao.
I’m so confused 😂😢
These are the modern torque wrenches the old ones were just click
I don't understand the "it doesn't click, you just have to feel it" phrase.
Because you're a little fruit pie.
I use it on my quad at a low torque you can hardly hear the click but you can feel it with your on the top of wrench
These are lower end Taiwanese tools
Just tried to use it on my motorcycle. It's definitely no torque wrench. More like a breakerbar. Real SOS
I heard the click in the video
my dumb ass thought the tourque wrench wouldn't be able to tighten after desired setting
I just bought the same one, is it a different click when you get to the desired setting?
@@giiodudehow is it working?
yup! same! it cost me an extra $100 after I stripped a line connection. I should have watched this first SMH
Just FYI U go to the number not the bottom line of each number
No, you go to the line as indicated on the wrench. Some wrenches may have you go to the number.
Just bought one to install my spark plugs
