Coria was clearly the better player in this final but his stress gave him so much cramps... so sad... this match broke his career. Gaudio was also a fantastic player and a broken career too.

@user-zz5je1ry1o Dude, he means that Nadal was unbeatable since then, so it was impossible for the rest of the players to win RG.

Rafa might be the king of clay, but still prefer RG pre Rafa. Everything became so routine and dull eventually. Basically the guy shows up every year and destroys everybody. I liked it when it was varied and exciting, with different winners each year.

I remember it was painful to watch because Coria was clearly not faking, at the 3rd set he probably got cramps because of stress and couldn't play properly, hardly moving, like if his legs were paralysed. But he courageously went on... sad for him he couldn't win but he did great.

Выиграл только из-за того что у Рафы из за тяжелых нагрузок стопа начала неправильно развиваться и он пропустил РГ 2004 из за перелома, так бы остался товарищ с 0 шлемов

Bravo Gaston Gaudio. I watched this match live and cheered for Gaston, he overcame himself and performed a miracle and feat, in the fight with the opponent and with himself. Played 2 match points. Guillermo Coria has always been unpleasant to me,a vile malingerer. I'm 100% sure, he faked this match too, when he almost seemed to give up after the 4th set, and then started playing again to confuse Gaston, but it didn't work out. Gaston Gaudio has forever written his name in the history of tennis. For me, Gaston is second only to Nadal ,he is the greatest champion of the Roland Garros tournament after Nadal. Sorry for my English,I translated through an interpreter.

Coria clearly cramped it's quite obvious starting at the end of the 3rd. Gaudio would never have won otherwise. Gaston is no where near that level.

Nobody fakes anything at that stage on that level, especially after being ahead in the finals of a grand slam. You gotta chill with the hate. Both of these guys are great as people and players.

Coria's lack of maturity was crucial here. Sure it also came down to luck at the end but he was an immature brat in his short career. Every time things were not going his way he faked an injury. This time it did not work. Boys don't win grand slams, grown men do.
