And if Rafa had taken that 2nd set in Wimby final that year too, he might've won Wimbledon as well. Crazy how good he was at such a young age. Especially on clay and grass
Yeah, your right, but in the tennis of today, if your good on a surface your good on all surface, the difference between grass, clay, hard if really minim now!
2005 semi/2006 were Federer's only real chance of beating Rafa at RG. After this win there was no turning back for Nadal. He had become the King of Clay. In 2005 Nadal had not won it before. In 2006, Federer had won all 7 grand slam finals he had contested. He won the first set 6-1. You feel those two matches were his real chance. I love the footage from this final.
6:45 & 8:16! what an insane acceleration by young Nadal! by the way young Nadal´s arms looked way better in sleeveless compared to today´s Nadal in sleeveless!
Does anyone remember a Nadal game where a ball boy started bleeding from his nose and Nadal gave him one of his towels for the ball boy to clean up? I think it was a match from the first rounds of Roland Garros 2006.
7:03 A jaguar chasing its prey. This guy was on the top of the clay foodchain for longer than decade. Absolute legend.
What an amazing point by both

@@thomasbrunkle8389 No. Nadal was beast in third set.
@@Ogertsztech it's about momentum though. Federer could have definitely kept it up after first set the way he was playing
Ehh... he did take the second set at wimbledon
If Federer had pulled this off it would have been different

Federer really wasn’t far away from taking this to 5 sets, probably there best match at the French
You can tell wasn't in this mentally. He was totally spooked by rafa at this stage.
Eurosport please stop showing unforced errors in your highlights!
If Rafa had been 5 years younger Roger could have had 30 Slams
If he were 5 years older Roger would be lucky to have double figures
@@BigramtPrime for Prime Nadal was not winning more Grass and Hard slams than Federer.
Once upon a time when Rafa had hair
looked much better with long hair!
@@peoplecallmesugar5564 everybody looks better with full head of hair
