    Thanks Mat. Looks like you had some "fun" installing that. Lol.

    Nice video, switchbot now also has nice black Friday deals! And I hope they one day also release a smart device that outputs a short (dry) pulse so I can control my real garage door ( the big one, you drive your car through 😂) because for as far as I can see that's still not really widely available or from a known and trusted manufacturer.

      No plans for garage opener yet but vacuum will be out this year I believe

    What about integrating this lock with HomeAssistant? Great video!

      Switchbot has API accessible so you'd be able to use that with 3rd party integrations. I covered the API in a separate video

    Is there a way to mount two of these to one door and synchronise them together? I have a front door that has a deadbolt lock and a standard lockable handle.

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Год назад +1

      Yes, you can add and sync up 2 locks at the same time with a single keypad

    It won’t work for UK Yale Night latch will it? because they only rotate 45 degrees ….

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  6 месяцев назад

      Rotating Ange isn't an issue as long as you can fit the lock

    hello! can you unlock with the normal key from outside ? Without using another automatic method only the key. thanks

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Год назад +1

      Yes the lock works as it would otherwise and the app updates the status of the lock too

    Hello what about Doors whithout handle outside ?

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Год назад +1

      Handle outside isn't required. It should be pretty obvious from the video what locks it would work with

    Does the smar lock not void home insurance?

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Год назад +2

      I don't think why it should? It doesn't alter your lock. Just give you options to access your house in different ways. None of them is less secure than the lock

      @@notenoughtech depends how the security in the lock is taken care of.( Because I'm not a multi millionaire, I'm absolutely not afraid of high tech attacks of a smart door lock at my place) But in my opinion it's far more safe, because you don't have to Cary a physical key anymore that can be easily duplicated or stolen.....

    I think Nuki is much better than this Switchbot. Anyway great and interesting video!

      I'd have to look closer at Nuki. Not heard about them before so it's hard to make the call. Thanks for the comment

    • @gerysteylaerts
      @gerysteylaerts Год назад

      @@notenoughtech if you could, please also make a video about the noise level of the 2 locks, there are rumors ( .... ) That the Nuki makes a lot more noise then the switchbot( and if you could try both under real life circumstances, so turning the same lock) thanks.

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Год назад

      I don't have the other one to compare it to. As per noise level of switchbot. Keypad beeps are heard from about 5m away and you can't hear the lock on the other side of the door at all.
      From inside you can hear the beeps from the keypad but muted and switchbot lock is audible but nothing I'd consider louder than the action of actually getting inside your apartment.

    • @gerysteylaerts
      @gerysteylaerts Год назад

      @@notenoughtech thanks for the fast reply, I saw a video comparing both locks, and it's not the beeps they where talking about, it was the actual noise of the motor that was a lot louder, but it was a weird way of comparing them because the switchbot lock was not installed to the lock and the other one was. I think you understand that the motors under load(moving/turning a lock) could sound way different then when they are free moving. I would like to see a more trustworthy ( YOU if possible 🥰) channel to perform a real comparison. It might be a nice video too. Have a nice one

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Год назад

      The problem with the sound recording is that unless you are shooting both at the same time with the same setup it's hard to compare and convey the loudness. On top of that this will depend on how hard is your lock to turn. I've tested with a brand new lock which turns like butter and frankly speaking there is any minimal difference from engaged lock Vs on the bench. But this may not be the case for the other locks.
      Also I need a single turn to unlock and I re calibrated the lock to open door in about 3 sec. So at reasonable levels 3 sec sound won't even cross my mind.
      Your circumstances maybe different of course. Can I hear it open if I focus on it? Yes. Will it wake me up at night? Nope.
