    You know I'm smashing that like button when a new Misha video pops up. Two beautiful classic rifles. Cheers, brother!🍻

    I bought one of the very first Bulgarian semiautomatic AK 47. It’s made on a milled receiver and is very well made. It’s never jammed and is quite accurate for an AK. Mine never had a rear sling swivel. This is again an excellent presentation.

      I traded a Vz.58 for this one. Probably a good deal for both of us since I had a few of the Czech rifles and he was ready to find this SA-93 a new home.

      Its really quite easy. Just take your time and make it a nice, even, straight cut.

    I need to get a Type 3 AK some day, I'm still mad at myself for not buying that Polytech Legend that was in my local shop but I wasn't particularly interested in AKs at the time since I already had a hodgepodge AKM...thing.

    Yo Misha, could you make a video covering Zenitco products. I can't really find any in-depth information about their accessories and I'm really interested in their railed dust cover in particular but I'm not sure if it will hold zero.

    I have an SLR100H that is unmarked.
    How do you confirm who made it?
    It DOES have the smoothed barrel pin that you said Blue Ridge did. But the only stamp on the receiver is
    MR3607

    Misha, I dunno if you've ever covered this extensively, but if not, can you maybe do a video on the conversion process that Arsenal USA/FIME performed on the barreled Saiga receivers into the SGL series?
    The more I inspect my SGL's and the more research I do, the more I can tell/find out that many of the components were installed here?

    • @misha5670
      @misha5670 5 лет назад

      They didn't come in as barreled receivers. They came in as sporter rifles just like a WASR10 or NPAP or SAM7R. No, most of the parts were put on in Russia...of course it does matter a lot if you have an earlier or later SGL. Earlier ones did have more work done in the US its true.

    • @AnontheGOAT
      @AnontheGOAT 5 лет назад

      @@misha5670 How sure are you of this? I've heard that components such as the front sight, gas block and riveting of the bullet guide were all done here - not in Russia.

    • @misha5670
      @misha5670 5 лет назад

      You called it a barreled receiver and said that 'many' of the parts were done here. What you just described is standard for debanning most any import. The gun does come in as aworking firearm, lacking a bullet guide to comply with the 1998 addition to the import ban which disallowed 'high-cap' magwells. With something like a WASR, they get around this by shipping with a single stack magwell, cutting it open here. I like the Izhmash/Arsenal/FIME method more as riveting a bullet guide is much easier and cleaner. As for the FSB and GB, they come in 'neutered.' So to get full features back, yes the original ones shipped on the gun have to be pulled off, and fresh ones with lugs put on in their places. WASRs come in a bit differently, but the general idea is still the same. Unfortunately, this is the reality of importation. The SGL came in with a thumbhole stock as well.

      @@misha5670 Yeah I figured that much. So basically the only difference between the IZ series Saiga's and not yet debanned SGL Saiga's is that the SGL didn't have the additional FCG holes cut on the sides of receiver like the IZ's had correct? Other than that, they were both identical when they first came into the US?

    • @misha5670
      @misha5670 5 лет назад

      Not...entirely. The roll markings and finish were different also. Also, the SGLs came in with standard handguards; not the hunter one piece type as seen on 'many' Saigas (not all I know).

    Any recommendations on properly restoring 'bakelite' furniture for the AK-47..??
    Only asking, because I bought a Bulgarian set off of GunBroker for my SAM7-UF.

    • @misha5670
      @misha5670 5 лет назад +1

      Sorry, that's more Jay's field. I'd imagine it depends just how well used/worn/damaged it is? Keep in mind, its not actually bakelite, but rather AG-4 which is a type of fiber-glass compound.

      If it's just a little scuffed, then you can use some polyurethane or lacquer to touch it up.

    What the heck I thought all arsenal SLR’s were bulgarian guns? But the slr100 is a hungarian rifle? Or hungarian parts assembled by the bulgarians on their reciever? I’m confused.

    wasnt Arenal usa later know as armory usa/Global Trades, then sold off to elk river out of Houston Texas, well made guns! from what ive read arsenal usa/ armory usa was made in bulgaria using comblock parts! or even arsenal parts, only magwell milled out here in usa.
    I've recently found one of these SSR-85C-2's marked made in bulgaria, ISD LTD , armory usa and my serial # starts with a B followed by 2004, what does the B mean? and can you explain how to understand reading the serial#
