Leading us to all pray together is the best idea, ever! Thank you, so much for that. Okra is one of my very favorite vegetables. I love it fried, but I also love it boiled with or without tomatoes. It is also great added to vegetable soup, since it gives so much body to the soup base. Thanks for the video and bringing us together in prayer. You made my day!
I believe that most people, including children, do not like vegetables because they have never eaten them properly seasoned. Salt will "bring out" the flavor and the sugar will mitigate any bitterness that may be present in any given vegetable. My mother was an excellent Southern cook and she knew the power of sugar when it came to vegetables. She also knew that they should not be cooked to death. I never turned down any vegetable that she cooked and neither did my own children. It may take a bit of trial and error to find the "just right" amount of sugar for a particular veggie, but it will be so worth it. It's just like you said, use sugar as a "spice". Another trick my mama used in her veggies was a touch of bacon fat as a seasoning. One or two teaspoons will make a world of difference, as I'm sure you know. You remind me a lot of my mama, Becky, and watching you in the kitchen is very comforting to me. God has filled you with Grace and you pass that on to us, your viewers.Thank you.

I love your cutting board on the frig. And I do love some fried okra. The trouble with these local tv stations is , they are now owned by some joker in California,ours is owned by a corporation in Virginia, that’s where your crazy stuff comes in.
I live in Oregon and at times I step out my front door and a whole group of wild deer are laying no more than 30 feet from me and they hardly react. When I speak to them they relax and continue eating or just lounging as I walk past them. It's so peaceful.
I LOVE okra!! My 7 year old loves pickled okra, so I think he would love this.. I love fried okra makes me miss home!! I'm from Oklahoma but live in Ohio and I miss the south so bad!!
your videos make me feel like im a kid again standing in my grandmothers kitchen....and im 40! I make fried zuchinni all the time, haven't made okra for a while but want to now! I use flour, corn starch, baking powder salt and pepper in my breading mix, a few eggs and whole milk for an egg bath. coat in flour mix, then into eggwash, then back into flour mix....makes a great thick crust and is so crunchy! im going to try the trick about sitting them on a cooling rack before cooking. I never thought of doing that...and you're right my pan is always full of a mess at the bottom....was wondering if there was something I could do about that, and now I know. Thanks!

Instead of using egg I have always just soaked my okra in milk before I bread my okra!! I will definitely try this recipe! I like the idea of letting it set on a rack before you fry !! My moma is a great cook and taught many southern recipes and ma'am you are up there with her and trust me that is a high compliment. She doesn't cook anymore I cook for her. I love your cutting board on the frig. And I do love some fried okra. God Bless y’all and and stay strong in your faith ,when ever I get discouraged with all this worldly stuff I just go outside ( live in the country)look around ,nothing has changed, take a deep breath and a thank you lord and go about my business. The trouble with these local tv stations is , they are now owned by some joker in California,ours is owned by a corporation in Virginia, that’s where your crazy stuff comes in.

I live in Oregon and at times I step out my front door and a whole group of wild deer are laying no more than 30 feet from me and they hardly react. When I speak to them they relax and continue eating or just lounging as I walk past them. It's so peaceful.
I LOVE okra!! My 7 year old loves pickled okra, so I think he would love this.. I love fried okra makes me miss home!! I'm from Oklahoma but live in Ohio and I miss the south so bad!!

your videos make me feel like im a kid again standing in my grandmothers kitchen....and im 40! I make fried zuchinni all the time, haven't made okra for a while but want to now! I use flour, corn starch, baking powder salt and pepper in my breading mix, a few eggs and whole milk for an egg bath. coat in flour mix, then into eggwash, then back into flour mix....makes a great thick crust and is so crunchy! im going to try the trick about sitting them on a cooling rack before cooking. I never thought of doing that...and you're right my pan is always full of a mess at the bottom....was wondering if there was something I could do about that, and now I know. Thanks!

Instead of using egg I have always just soaked my okra in milk before I bread my okra!! I will definitely try this recipe! I like the idea of letting it set on a rack before you fry !! I was raised on the food you make!! If people want to eat some of the best country food your the best! My moma is a great cook and taught many southern recipes and ma'am you are up there with her and trust me that is a high compliment. She doesn't cook anymore I cook for her.
