I love this small part of the Snowhead Arc. It ties into Majora's Mask's themes of failure acceptance and death in a profound way for me, especially after Darmani's grave.
It also reminds me of my grandmother, who never gave up...even until the end😢
That's so sweet the elder's determination reminds you of your grandmother--I wanted to approach this video in a jovial way, but I do hope it came across that I was serious about my respect for this character! I am constantly impressed with how varied each NPC is in the way they shoulder responsibility and spend their remaining days attempting to mend their own troubles amidst the world's end.

So, if you beat the temple before he can make it to the mountain village... he's totally drowning in the thawed lake, right?
Thankfully there are no drowning elders in any of the timelines where the temple is beaten! The moment you defeat Goht, he appears back at the Goron Shrine 🤔 I'm sure he regained his mobility in the warmer weather, but we don't actually get to see him walking around--from that point on he stays in one spot and his idle animation is the same 😅
MM has been my favorite Zelda game since middle school (2010ish) and I thought I knew everything about it. But I *always* assumed based on his words to Darmani that he dies. Never knew you would see him back in the Goron Shrine. The baby even says something about the gold dust being “from Daddy” and the way it was worded made me think he was dead. Idk, that’s just crazy. I literally just played through the game in a single cycle about a week ago. It’s a tough challenge but fun. What’s the point of this comment? Idk but great video

If i had one wish for a zelda mod it would be a romhack that involves building the world of Majora's Mask:
More side quests, like Anju/Kafei, that involve the characters ending up spending their time in different places depending on what part of the quest you complete or don't complete maybe having different quests branch off to unique ends, quests interact with each other, etc.. Perhaps as one of the rewards for beating a quest you would get hints on where to begin other new quests which are difficult to find the start of
Perhaps also one that make most characters move around in time, really bring everything to life, having some of the characters visit different domains, like if someone from the swamp traveled to clock town if you do the right things, seeing their caravan travel up from the south at a certain point in time then see the characters in town once it arrives. Perhaps fleshing out the things the people would do over time if you beat their area's temple.
Also, someone seriously needs to add to the Astral Observatory, everyone talks about that place as sacred but the amount of time spent there and interactions are so small
A lot of masks could use more use as parts of side quests or getting unique dialogue
Came from your community post about the video. I really enjoyed it! I had no idea he moved as time progressed, I always found him on the lake in the first day lol. I wish you could cover other hardly mentioned characters from majoras mask although I understand if you don't because of this videos performance🥲

Hard to see him in a snowball.
It's good that Tatl changes color & makes a comment about the snowball he's in being bigger than the others--it wouldn't be fun randomly breaking open each and every one just to try and find him 😅
sadly, there is nothing to appreciate in a character that doesn't even exist in the world of zelda since almost all of majoras mask's characters exist only for link to process and accept his death. they only exist in link's mind. very nice video though!
I don't subscribe to this theory! It's fine to interperet the game that way, but I don't think it's what the original developers had in mind...Twilight Princess (the game that takes place after Majora's Mask) doesn't support it, as the Hero of Twilight is said to be the Hero of Time's decendant by blood, meaning this Link at least stayed alive long enough to grow up and have offspring. @@ThaneGamingExactly. Not only that, but the Hero's Shade is confirmed to be the spirit of the Hero of Time, further demonstrating that he made it to adulthood.
Link doesn't die in MM. We know that the Hero of Time grew into an adult after the events of the game. I'm assuming you haven't played Twilight Princess.
@@ThaneGaming i think that is exactly what the original devs had in mind. termina is just such a bizarre place, i just cannot imagine it being a real place in the world of tloz. so many characters looking like the characters link met in oot. just think about it: did the devs put malon, this farmer girl, in zelda oot and mm because they were too lazy to make different farmer-characters (models AND names) or was it intentional? they could have at least given her a new name, but even that is the same. things like this are planned, not just coincidence. i'm waiting for the next comment that says "malon and her sister just migrated to termina and have dementia, that's why they are in termina and don't remember link."
