I’m so sorry I love your videos but I don’t know if your video is slightly left rotated, based on your picture frames at the back, my ocd is kicking in :(
    But I’m keeping these tips!

So many things to fix for beginners, eg. frame rate ,color, etc. Else, it will export a bunch of rubbish. So suck.

Let me start by saying that I am a new subscriber after watching this. I know I fall into the amateurish look category. I can't speak for a lot of people watching but I'm mostly run and gun shooting. I do a lot of real estate and wedding videos and sometimes just shoot randomly on family vacations. I'm not working on a film set, so that I can establish all the required preproduction. Does that mean it would be very difficult to get a great look in my situation? I'm definitely not happy with the way most of my footage turns out but not really sure what else I can do to take it to another level, aside from everything you just said.

Hello! Thanks for watching the video and subscribing! Regarding your comment, you’re right these tips won’t work in every situation, especially run & gun. What I would say in your situation, depending on the camera you use, is to make sure to shoot in LOG, add things like 1/8 black pro mist filters to your lenses, and when you grade don’t simply apply a LUT and tweak from there. I would say grade from the log footage with no LUT at all. This will give you more control and if you’re using Davinci resolve you can perhaps create your own LUTS that fit better with how you shoot, rather than applying a generic LUT which can tend to clip highlights, crush shadows, oversaturate and not do a great job with footage. The important thing is to just keep these tips in mind for your next shoot. Good luck shooting!

Thank you so much for that. I know people dont always appreciate it when someone talks about something, but it helped me wake up to that. I was always bummed when my lurs wouldnt fix stuff.

You know, I've done my best to dedicate enough time post shooting to spend on coloring, but I've admittedly fell victim to "not enough time, LUT and tweaking it is". I think we all need to prepare for the time it takes to properly CC and grade and provide the client with realistic time table! Great video!
